Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 4)

I'd like to think R* has something fresh and exciting up their sleeve for the next update. Something that will make people go 'whoa...never saw that coming'.

However, assuming we will be playing a new DLC 6 months from now, I expect it will be yet another variation on the MC/CEO theme.

Any news for Independence day DLC? Any chance for Beer hats in 2017?

No chance as low as the hunter being in gta online

You may find this useful, but i done some research about the bunker stock.

With staff and equipment upgrade:

You make 1000 per 1 minute, but the stock bar fill every 7 minutes so 7000 per 7 minutes.

The maximum stock on bunker is 700K, means you need stright six hours and forty minutes "6:40" to fill from 0 to 700,000. I know it alot of time !

If 7 minutes = 7k, then 700k = 700 minutes. 700 divided by 60 is 11.6 hours.

How long do the car enthusiasts play around with a new car before getting bored again? How many minutes, hours, days or weeks?

Depends on the car for me.

I drive one of my Baller LEs, one of my Cognoscentis, my Dubsta 6x6, one of my Schafters & my Bestia at least once a week.

My Nero, Specter, Verlierer... etc about once a month.

Chasing Special Crates for Beer hats - both thrilling and infuriating at the same time. Fun days long gone.

I'm still working under the assumption that we'll get the usual thing by October at the latest, as well - in that instance, yeah, the December thing is probably going to be the next iteration of the SecuroServ, Freemode business model, complete with more novelty vehicles.

As for the thing coming before that? No idea, but hopefully something a bit different, to mix things up - speaking of which:

Eh, apart from 1) quote trains, and 2) wrong thread (particularly since it's already been posted in that thread!), it's waaay too soon for anything remotely like 'moar Gunrunning', IMO. Give it at least a couple more different updates before coming back to a previous theme, eh, R*? ;)

Heck, that's something I'm a bit leery about for the rest of this year's updates: what are the odds that December's thing (if not whatever we get before then) has yet more special/weaponised vehicles, or whatever the next iteration of that whole thing winds up being - ? Pretty high, I'd imagine - and I'm not really enthused by that, honestly. Would be nice to get something that's not predominantly about either gimmick things with weapons/gadgets, or yet more high-end exotics (or a mix of both), but I can't help but think that R*'s just more likely to keep expanding on that aspect of things, at the cost of ...anything else. :/

BTW sorry about that had no idea about that rule, what DLC would you like to see then?

Heh - again, like wot I said above, 'something different' would be nice! ;) If I had my way, it'd be something where the whole theme appeals to me (import tuners being the obvious one), just because almost everything from Lowriders onward (including both Lowriders updates, Bikers, F&AFF, Import/Export, and now Gunrunning) has left me almost completely cold. I'm really bored with updates coming out, where my options are either 'nothing except one single car' or 'nothing at all'. :bored:

But personal wishlisting/frustrations aside, it'd just be good to get a theme we haven't had yet. A second biker update, or yet more SecuroServ stuff, or more high-end supercars? Nope - feels like a bit of a waste of GTAO's potential to keep going over previously-trodden ground, when there are so many other things R* could add that'd be fresh and new. Maybe something with more affordable, civilian-grade vehicles, and clothes and the like to match - it's already pretty surprising that R* keeps overlooking more everyday stuff, so that'd be an easy way of creating a contrast with the many, many updates centred around super-expensive/fancy cars/clothes/etc.

Possibly a new adversary mode is coming out between aliens and humans to represent the Independence Day movie alongside the Fourth of July update.

So Yan, can we get any hints as to what the next update will be?

Nope, for a few reasons:

  1. We just got an update not long ago. Maybe enjoy it before asking for another one?
  2. I have no information about what's next other than the fact that Gunrunning was not the last update, but duh.
  3. I don't really care about it anyway, I rarely play GTA Online now and I don't care much about it anymore.
  4. I don't have as much free time as I used to, so obviously GTA Online and leaks are far from being in my priorities.
  5. The recent events with OpenIV as well as some discussions I recently had.
  6. I didn't really want to leak anything from the Gunrunning update, so I vaguely hinted at some info but it still didn't go as I wanted (even though I got everything right about it, eh).
  7. And of course the dickheads.

Basically don't expect anything from me anymore. Leaking can be fun sometimes, but in the end it's not really worth it. I'll just stick to the backstage to keep an eye on (and some control over) what's going on. ;)

I understand. And I wasn't one of those people who disliked Gunrunning or whatever; I kind of thought that we might as well at least try to get that question out of the way because it seemed like a lot of other people, at least here on the forums, didn't like the update. But thanks again for your response. I guess at this point once we are done with the dripfeed vehicles, hopefully we won't have to wait too long for news of the next update. In the meantime I shall do some work from my bunker and get those new weaponized vehicles.

Statisticly speaking, Gunrunning is GTA Onlines most popular Content Update since Release.

hmm, because i divide that number at first and it equaled 11 and something, but when i plural 60 min so it equals 700 it made it like six times as a hour, but there might be mistake, Thanks for the correction, "and sorry for the people who get annoyed by math (:"

http://steamcharts.com/app/271590

Granted, that's just PC, but it's likely a fair microcosm of the combined player-base.

360,761 peak players at launch in April 2015, dropping down to five figures by June '15, fluctuating until Import/Export, with a return to six figures (126,681 peak players). Meanwhile, Gunrunning just achieved 131,936, which is the highest number since May '15.

That is good news. Glad to hear some folks still like GTAO. Especially considering how old the game is at this point.

and where are those stats to backup this claim?

3 main indicators:

1) View and Like Numbers on the Gunrunning Trailer:

9 200 000 Views and 81 000 Likes, surpassing every other GTA Online Trailer in terms of views and most of GTA Online Trailers in likes

2)

GTA V was just the number #1 Best Selling game on the UK market, 4 years after release, I would assume that this is due to the Gunrunning Update

3)

SteamCharts indicating that there is an increase in player numbers.

Lastly we will have a full report after this financial quarter completes, but I am ready to assume that GTA Online will once again surpass expectations.

I'm sure Rockstar is very to happy to hear that the DLC full of paywalls is the most popular one.

Fast tracking is an option. Not a paywall.

A pay freeway. You can choose the scenic route.

The new landing pads props actually prevent the player from accelerating while driving over it. Could become interesting for upcoming stunt races...

Even taking the costs out of the equation, there's still the issue of things like special/weaponised vehicles requiring a string of mandatory purchases first.

I wouldn't mind getting something like an APC - but screw getting a bunker (ever), and same for an MOC. That leaves me able to buy the APC, but without the ability to do even something as simple as respray it. :/ Similar for anyone who just wants to buy, say, the Blazer Aqua - that's a good several million, including an office and a vehicle warehouse.

Imagine not being able to do any of Lamar's missions, or buy a lowrider, without buying Benny's garage first - sounds daft, but that's where we're at with so much of the content in Gunrunning. That's not reassuring, IMO - particularly considering that Gunrunning is by all accounts a huge success. Sure, but by risking freezing out players who don't want to go all in with EVERYTHING from the update... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hope this does not mean ANOTHER Update purely focused on Stunt Racing and the "new vehicles" Stunt races.

First few times this was ok, but that would be what....the 4th Update focused on stunting?

It is indeed getting annoying.

This is why I'd be shocked if we don't get at least one car this week. Next week the stuff we get will likely be highlighted by the MOC liveries (with maybe one car like the Cheetah).

The current event week lasts through Thursday this week

New one starts Friday so who knows whether we'll get a vehicle or not w/ the ID stuff

We have received drip feed vehicles in the middle of event weeks in the past. I don't see any reason that would change now.

If you want to even participate at all you HAVE to buy and bunker and you HAVE to buy a MOC. Those are paywalls.

If you want to customize vehicles you HAVE to buy the vehicle customization bay. Paywall.

Want to mod the new guns? Have to pay to upgrade the old ones. Paywall.

To drive a Coquette you have to buy one and pay to modify many different options. That's like 15 paywalls.

Which is everything we can work with so far, and it is quite a lot to be honest.

You would be amazed at how many studies come along with a lot less.

The tendency is generally positive for this Update.

Also you may have forgotten about the fact that GTA V was #1 Best Selling Game in the UK this week.

No, to drive a coquette you can find one on the street. To mod it you could play single player.

You can not, in any way, use anything in gunrunning without paying millions first.

I can't wait to see how you'll change your argument again. You'll just keep going in circles.

You: There are no paywalls.

Me: Yes there are. Here's proof.

You: Ok well... there have always been paywalls!!!
