Calm down, something is bothering me badly.

Is Gunrunning the last big update for GTAO?

 

 

Why do people keep asking this? The answer is undoubtedly a solid NO. Do you have ay idea how much money T2 are making from GTAO? Let me put it into perspective for you. These are some quotes from Take Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick.

 

 

 

"GTA V and GTA Online continue to outperform our expectations, as they have in every quarter since their release. GTA V remains the highest rated game of the current console generation with sell-in amounts surpassing 75 million units."

 

 

 

"Digitally-delivered net revenue grew 64% to $240.2 million, as compared to $146.4 million in last year's fiscal third quarter. Recurrent consumer spending (virtual currency, micro-transactions and downloadable add-on content) accounted for 39% of digitally-delivered net revenue, or 20% of total net revenue. I'll be playin rdr2, crew 2, and god of war in 2018, so gta6 in 2020 would be best for me.

Yeah but I mean even regardless of any other games that come out. You just can't compare the magic of a brand new GTA title to just another online DLC.

Meh. Gta sp already lost its "magic" when they switched to the 3 protag system. Gta4 was a work of art with tbogt and tlad. Gta5 story was lame imo. I only did one playthrough. I would rather see one massive paid gtao expansion with a new map n new content tbh. Gtasa was also a work of art with more content and customization than currently. Its like they made it revolve around the heist system and filled in the blanks with a few forgettable missions, and mediocre character development.

But it's not like they're stuck with the 3 protag system just because they did it once. And if GTA4 and SA were works of art like you said, what makes you say they couldn't do it again? I don't think it would be that hard to come up with a story with character development that surpasses all of the previous GTA titles.

 

Online is way too grindy and hollow right now. So I hope next time we'll get a solid story for Online which could be more integrated somehow with a storymode. But whatever the case is, a new setting needs a good story. Just giving us a new map without a decent story would be fun but hollow none the less.

I've heared some unsourced rumours that there were plans for 3 DLC's; one for each protagonist. (And that is plausible idea, no denying)

 

I hope that is the case if and when they release the singleplayer DLC's (New maps and 3 new characters would be cooler, but that sounds like GTA6 content to me)

There is simply no money in it for single player DLC. You should have the option to buy it for single player tho.

sad thing is,we even got the dlc cars in SP for free back on last gen.

 

Rockstar thinks it's too advantageous to test out the expensive new content first in singleplayer is my guess. Having to buy new content exclusively in GTA Online sells shark cards and buyers remorse is more probable and theirs nothing they want more than to have you waste your money in the all mighty GTAO and have to purchase (another) shark card. All the updates would be basically free with the billions players can earn from the BAWSQ. GTAO would be an afterthought. Rockstar doesn't like "FREE"

Theres a cpl major issues moving forward that leaves me with little hope for the future of gta sp. 1. Online has made so much money and costs a fraction to produce. Thats one of the reasons they stripped the sp dlc content and put it into gtao instead. All the current gen dlcs stopped sharing content with sp. And 2. No More Benz. He was one of the main reasons Gta became so popular in the first place. Any future gta's will have watered down sp, and will be prob be glorified gtao updates. Sharkcards will dictate how future content will be implemented. Updates are becoming more about making cash, than pleasing the fanbase. T2 is ruining gta imo. Gtasa was a complete game. Tons of content, awesome story, no dlcs to worry about. Then gta4 was a step backward in map development, less customization, but an awesome story spread across 3 installments. Now gta5 seemed more geared towards online. Sharkcards are driving up prices, restricting payouts, and they produce so much revenue they cancelled future dlc's. R* is learning they can make more cash producing gtao updates than sp dlc with less effort and resources. In the end they're just becoming a large company focused more on profit margins than customer satisfaction. The only thing we can do is wait until the next gta to see if they go back to what made gta great, or continue on their current trend. I hope its the former, but i fear its the latter.

All the bodygyard outfits with the new utility tops have the standard and sh*t quality armor on them. None of them have the actual bodyguard vests. I'm still incredibly curious as to how Keeves managed to change the undershirt.

The latest the drip feed will start is the 27th

 

Rockstar's never waited more than two weeks from update release day to release drip feed content (Only exception being Lowriders Custom Classics) and that was because it was the first update to introduce drip-feeding.
