Wow sh*t * what was wrong with the fireworks?!

I haven't checked mine; don't even remember if I had any left.

I think Amy's disappeared, and Carimbo's above, there might've been other people mentioning it too.

Just read about R*/TakeTwo sending a cease and desist letter for OpenIV. Seeing as we now won't get GTA IV's map modded into V anymore, maybe there are plans for a map expansion down the line after all? Otherwise I don't see the (true) purpose of it and why they didn't go through with it before now.

Oh no fun allowed/cash cards/etc.

I'm kinda hoping R* go back to basics with DLCs for the next few.

Everything has gotten so big and expensive and it just doesn't feel like the same game anymore. Also a greater proportion of what I read is negative towards the current crop of DLCs.

Hopefully they reign things in a bit.

3 or 4 cars from different classes. A sports, sports classic, offroad and a muscle car. (Or even a Sedan or Coupe for the collectors / hipsters / retro-lovers / ordinary citizen cosplayers)

15 to 20 pieces of clothing that are properly designed for male/female, and that work together or with other pieces

3 or 4 proper hairstyles, designed for gender

2 or 3 weapons

3 or 4 new tattoos

a facepaint

Maybe some new wheels in LSC or a couple of custom paintjobs in Bennys

Let people vote on custom jobs and then verify a Stunt Race, a DM and a Capture

Perhaps everything could be on a theme again, Hipsters, IndepDay, etc

Give us a simple package of stuff we actually would all likely use. A bit of something for everyone. But more importantly make is affordable and fun. Don't hide things behind huge paywalls.

Y'know. How they used to do.

---

Edit. Realised this actually turned in to a wishlist post. I'm going to flesh this out and post in the wishlist
Mods feel free to delete.

So did Agent 14 potentially break the 4th wall again?:

"As assets go, you're a pretty useful one. Obviously can't talk about it now, but we got some big things cooking at the office... might be able to cut you in... no promises. Over and out."

Was Rockstar unofficially teasing "some big things" they're working on via Agent 14?...

I asked the question a few days ago.. The "ballistic armor" option is where the fireworks used to be right?

I believe so.

Still a petty that Rockstar won't make them available again... If I could, I would've bought thousands of them!

If I buy a bunker without any addons and later I want to add some addons, can I upgrade my bunker or have I to buy a complete new bunker?

Thanks

Sightly off-topic, but I believe there are some new animations for loading into GTA Online (similar to when you change in-between protagonists in SP). So far I've experienced my character playing on his phone then putting it away and kicking dust under his feet.

The true purpose was to stop the leaks from happening.

Not Yans leaks, those were relatively small.

But some dataMiners practicly leaked the entirety of the Update before it was released, R* got really pissed at them for that.

Also the dripfeeded content I'd imagine, was a reason too.

And well also, apparently according to R*s statement some people modified OpenIV for malicious use, not sure if that is actually true though, could be.

What would be great is if OpenIV went open source and made it available to everyone. Someone would take it on, it'd take Take-Two another 5 years to get a cease and desist in place and by that time it'd be too late to backtrack.

As it stands, anybody can still use OpenIV.

It didn't take TakeTwo 5 years to get a cease and desist order, lmao.

They practicly issued it within 2 weeks.

They just decided that now was the time for OpenIV to be taken down, as for the reasons mentioned above:

Leaks from dataminers

dripfeedcars

and potentially security concerns for GTA Online.

Besides the map conversion mods and future update leaks, I also believe that they didn't liked to see us figuring out that SP was meant to have 3 story DLCs that got abandoned because of their internal issues(The Benz leaving the company).

Or OpenIV is completely not related to that?

OpenIV has almost nothing to do with that, that was "leaked" by Rockstars notes send to some people on this forum.

About the Map Mods, no idea why they are taking them down, I'd imagine it is a legal concern perhaps.

Also what I do know is that Story DLC is not entirely out of question, so no need to regard it as dead, just yet.

To make it all clear, here is what happened:

1 - At May 19th, 2017, I received an email from the legal counsel for Take Two Interactive in the USA. In this email they has requested to stop immediately any further work and/or distribution of OpenIV and "Liberty City in GTAV" projects.

2 - In belief, that we did not violate any laws, I asked them to provide more detailed information about their request. They agreed to provide details by email.

3 - On June 5th, 2017, after two weeks of silence, I got C&D letter from lawyers company (legal representative of Take Two in Russia), both in electronic and paper form, to my employer address. This C&D accuses me in Russian laws violations.

4 - After many heavy thoughts, we had decided to agree with their claims. We did not make it easily; it is very hard decision for us.

They contacted Open IV before the release of Gunrunning by one month, unless they can time travel there's no way Foxy leaks caused them to take this action.

Because Foxy never leaked Updates before?

He has been leaking entire Updates since the BIKERs one.

All along with full price lists btw.

Believe me when I am saying, they are major pissed at him.

The exact reason why they did it 2 weeks before Gunrunning, is because they wanted to prevent Gunrunning to be leaked as well.

The timing was little bad though, and OpenIV got shut down some days later.

Also they want to prevent future leaks for other games as well, such as Red Dead Online and Red Dead Redemption 2. They don't want the same to happen with them as with GTA Online

No, because T2 did stop a leaker in the past with them being full aware of how he used OpenIV to leak the content.

It is also my understanding that Foxy is the one who pushed this all over the edge.

You can't pin-point one person, that's not fair. Tones of people leak unreleased content, it happens in almost every game and so many people do it. Just because Foxy, amongst others were doing it doesn't mean there wasn't lots of others doing the same thing elsewhere.

If that was their justification it's ridiculous. If anything the leaked stuff fuels hype and makes people more interested in the DLC. I was entirely uninterested by anything in gunrunning until I saw the Torero, Cheetah and XA21 (Of course now I'm entirely uninterested in GTAO at all but that's besides the point). I'm sure that others were the same.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm going off at you btw Mach, I'm just still struggling with T2 logic here.

I'm not pin pointing anyone, nor do I actually care very much at all about this Open IV stuff.

I am just repeating what I have heard from my sources.

Spider-Vice

It's their own fault that Foxy could do this if that is their reasoning. In the Social Club version patch server, there is a file called versioning.xml that lists all the patches available, so the launcher can then detect it when the time is right. What I understand happens is, Rockstar adds the executable file (the installer of the patch) to the servers HOURS early, which means anyone with a little skill can just go to the file, grab the direct link and install the patch early. I think there needs to be a bit more competence from their part too.

I didn't really give a sh*t about the content until I saw leaked videos of the upcoming vehicles but even still, Take-Two's actions have really soured my opinion of the game as a whole. I love this community but I've been in situations before where games I loved were run into the ground by sh*tty companies and if I must be entirely honest, it hurts my feelings. I don't play or care for many games but I'm tired of being forced into this situation.

This doesn't even require that much skill. It's laughably easy to download the DLC package early.

And to be honest, I don't get the "durr, leaks are bad, mmm k" argument.

While I actually support leaks among games (and not hackers leaking credit card info, and all that), I'm still confused why T2 got so triggered about leaking. Sure, they want to stop modding in GTA Online, and I support that, but taking down OpenIV for that is like banning cars because they can run people over. And we need cars. You need them, I need them, we all need them - and banning them because of mod making isn't quite... Right.

Heck, even Rockstar needs the modding community so we can inspire them to make more adversary modes and Special Vehicles  - but T2 says no :/

Again, I love leaks. Not because I like the feeling you get "when you've done something against the law", but because I would love to see what the hell Rockstar actually has added in a whole DLC. Plus, it builds up my hype-o-meter even more.

So to you, T2 - I hope you step on a LEGO.
