Makes me think what happens when two Mocs block the highway or when you drive one in the ocean.

I just had the daftest though: imagine trying to organise things like weapon upgrades or ...whatever it is you actually do in the MOC*, all the while being dangled above cloud level by a Cargobob. And that's before the inevitable plummet to your doom...!

 

*anyone else get the impression (from the Newswire piece) that the MOC is like a limited-functionality 'satellite' version of your bunker? As in, you can carry out certain bunker operations and whatnot from it, but without all the benefits of your staff, vehicle storage, etc. That, and it sounds like you can only equip it to handle a fixed number of different tasks at a time - i.e., you can configure it for maybe 1-2 out of 3-4 bunker operations, and so you have to choose what you need it to do when you take it out.

 

Overall, it sounds like an interesting compromise with the bunker - on the one hand, the bunker has full functionality, but you're restricted to it being in Blaine County - most likely in the centre of the island, since that's where there's the most room. On the other, the MOC can be taken almost anywhere (within reason! ;)), but it's limited in function, and more exposed (even if it's given full invincibility, like a yacht).

Just re-read Mach's thesis - dunno if that's confirmation, or just informed speculation.

However, even if just the MOC trailer itself is indestructible, still worth remembering what happens with yachts - you might have anti-air guns active, and all the doors are inaccessible in the same way as any safehouse, but that doesn't stop randos boarding your yacht if they (for example) swim to it or similar.

 

Might be that if there's some kind of open entrance or exposed area on the MOC, Rando Calrissian can still come and and trespass on your property - particularly if it disables weapons in certain parts of it. It all depends on how the interior of the MOC works - might be a thing you enter like an apartment or yacht interior (with a little animation as you 'warp' inside), might be more like a personal vehicle, where you can set access limitations in the same way as you can set your car to 'passengers/friends/no-one', etc.

Gotta say that this has been the biggest cluster f*ck of a wait that I've ever seen for a game. So many fake leaks, misinformation, and overall confusion has really left a toll on my hype for this. I hope it's worth it, and that the 13th is the drop date.

The idea of 'trailer is indestructible, cab isn't' is interesting - and makes a whole lot of sense, too. After all, if the MOC cab has the option for a turret upgrade (or even comes with one as standard), it's another armed vehicle - meanwhile, the trailer is more just a mobile property, and stops being a threat once the cab is destroyed (as well as immobilising it, which can leave anyone inside it stranded, and a sitting duck as soon as they try to leave!).

 

That's an interesting, clever way of balancing it, IMO - limited defensive capabilities, but without the option for idiots to just go round blowing up people's mobile base every time it goes out. Meanwhile, immobilising an indestructible safehouse-ish thing stops people travelling around the map in an invincible vehicle. If that's indeed how R* has decided to handle it, that's probably the smartest compromise they could have come up with, says I. And that's before factoring in things like 'trying to grab a regular truck cab to get the thing moving again', which could make for some memorable moments of 'emergent gameplay' - ! ;)

 

 

(...come to think of it, like with things like the Cargobob with FAFF, maybe now's as good a time as any for R* to add the Hauler, Packer and Phantom as Pegasus vehicles, eh?)

 

 

On a related note, wonder what's going to happen with the anti-air trailer thing? Particularly regarding what'll tow it by default - I get the impression that screenshot with the Hydra might be from the associated 'weaponised vehicle mission', not regular Freemode (same with the three Savages and the anti-air APC) - i.e., that mission has you recovering the trailer using a regular Sadler, while the person manning the turret has to keep the Hydra(s?) from destroying it.

 

If that's the case, then ...will it come with something to tow it when you actually buy the thing? Even just a unique Sadler or whatnot, in matching camo colours - something that, like with the MOC, is more fragile than the trailer, and thus more likely to get destroyed first (although to be fair, the trailer itself is both exposed AND probably not indestructible, either). It'd be kinda weird for it to just come with some generic thing - and weirder still if it spawned with nothing to transport it! :p

Not confirmed but it's obvious.

 

The MOC has a living quarters. There's no way you can die inside of your living quarters.

I'm willing to bet they will limit the turrets to mobile use only.

 

That would prevent exactly what you're worried about.

As far as I can tell is the Weaponry that comes with the MOC only operable by Players. So I don't think we have to worry about an indestructible auto-AA parking near Helipads and landing Strips.

They would never give us the option for the same AA gun the yacht has on the MOC. That would be wayyyyyyyy too overpowered for a land vehicle.

Don't see why living quarters would automaticly mean indestructability.

 

For an example, back in the old days you could shoot people out of a few appartments by using explosives.

I feel like R* really messed up not releasing today. I think they are just trying to push the DLC out so they can extend this one as long as they can before the next one. The dripfeed vehicles are probably going to be the worse by far this time around. I'll probably play for a day or two and come back in a few(10) weeks when they are finally all released like I did the previous DLCs.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did, Yachts have them as well as a few of the new vehicles that are going to be added. But my main concern is what will happen if you die while inside though.

No. it's entirely based on the speculation that it's a house and you can't be damaged in your house.

as cool as that sounds, if it was indestructable, it would mean that people can leave the trailer in the trolliest of places and other players wouldn't be able to do anything, like blocking off a LSC or any store

Not too worried, the folks who buy the moc will be spending their time getting their cash back and unlocking upgrades vis research.

That said, if it is indestructible and has auto AA, I can def see people parking them by airports and helipads.

 

I have nearly 1 billion in cash. I'm not planning on working too much for any bit of cash for a long while.Youll have 1 Billion for another week once the rest of the modded accounts are gone.

Yeah, it was sooo rude not to release it one week ahead of the release day even if they never said anything about it being released on the 6th.

Seriously, on the last newswire post they said that they were going to give more informations on the newswire about the update, that alone made a release on the 6th very unlikely.

Oh wow. Seriously, you should know R*'s track record and how your post contradicts itself entirely. They've posted newswire posts like that before and released the DLC couple days later. If the so called leaks are right, as I said, this DLC is going to be extended out greatly just like they extended the last one out.
