Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 3)

I find this week's discounts very intriguing, i mean there are no sales for civilian vehicles and the vehicles on sale are somewhat considered "useless" by a faction of the community.

 

I am sure they are trying to give us hints, but i still can't figure what it is exactly.

 

@happy hunter what do you think about that valkyrie sale ? what if the savage was in sale next week ? would that be supposed to mean something ?

well for some the savage already is on sale.

Eh, I guess the vehicles themselves coming is more important than the delivery of them.

 

I still predict different types of bunkers. Most probably are cheaper, ground-only bunkers. Then maybe you get a few that can house aircraft.

 

Perhaps some have different selling missions. Some you might be able to patch up aircraft and sell them, that kind of thing. Or maybe it's just that they house aircraft for you to use. Possibly customize too, that'd be very nice. Can't imagine anyone complaining about getting that

 

 

I'm not saying that having a property to house your aircraft and aircraft customization wouldn't be awesome. But do you really think underground bunkers are right for these ideas? I hope it happens but I'd much rather see it happen in a way that makes 1,000x more sense. Like hangars or aircraft carrier? We all know where your heart lies little buddy, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

 

The whole airbase thing is the main thing giving me this vibe. I don't necessarily think it's the right thing to do, but I get the feeling it's what they're doing. Might sound a bit tunnel vision, but then, I've never seen them call Trevor's place an airbase. Why would they break from that and call it something different this one time, when they know everyone's going to be looking into it?

 

Why isn't it called Sandy Shores, as opposed to Los Santos? Why isn't it closer to Sandy Shores? What would they call the others?

 

It just feels off to me.

 

I don't think every bunker is going to house them. Just that one, and a few others.

I just hope there's more guns than just the cut one's. Can you imagine 3 assault rifles, 2 MG's, 2 snipers, and a battle rifle?

I have a slight feeling we will be seeing more special vehicles than pegasus vehicles in the future. Although I doubt they would completely abandon pegasus, I don't think customisation will ever come with them, only with the special vehicles.. but I digress, this is r* after all, they can be all over the place with this type of sh*t lol

 

I can see us never getting pegasus vehicles again, but only cusomizable vehicles part of this new special vehicle system.

Really, though the apc is quite military, the apc's it is based on are kinda....common irl.

 

Eh, an APC really is kind of military though. Well, an APC with camo anyway.

 

The rest of the vehicles could be debated, except maybe the half-track thing (since that looks like an old WWII anti-air vehicle).

Without functioning guns pretty much "anyone" who has a spare 20 k laying around could own one of those in mint condition....heck, actually probably even a lot less.

 

Fully functioning, the prices would really go up, and there would be issues of owning one living in a civilized country and not in some warzone in regards to the law and such but beyond that, they are commonly found being owned by militias.

 

Same for pretty much anything from the soviet era that was mass produced on a huge scale.

 

and if they have camo or not is pretty irelevant.

 

that being said: following that thought even new soviet based tanks and even soviet aircraft would not be really out of the question, but not much beyond that.

the 1 thing that makes me think that there is more to that base then we might see is the way that they showed that sign to us.

Ok so what i think is that they realized no one is gonna buy the savage or the valkyrie again after gunrunning's helis are released.

I really doubt there will be any type of helipad added near bunker hatch locations, or that aircraft will interact with bunkers at all. If any aircraft is added with this update, they will be Pegasus vehicles.

I did predict that actually. It made sense, every building that was obvious to be a potential office had helipads on them...

 

It makes no sense at all that you would be able to fly a helicopter into an underground bunker. They've even already shown what the hatch entrance looks like.

 

Well there is still the posibility of a seperate helipad enterance.Maybe something along the line like this but of a more normal size:

In about 5 year that one will be celebrating its 50th anniversary too.

 

That being said, it kinda is indeed military, but rather like surplus military.

Of course this is all realistic speaking, but between full military and surplus there is a lot of difference.

 

Like said indeed, the latter can be (easier) owned by non military groups and people.

 

Last one honestly made me lol though, rockstar really seems to like misleading people.

I'm not sure what "Trevor's place" has to do with anything. I thought the location they showed was in the desert to the west of Sandy Shores airfield? It couldn't get any closer to Sandy Shores, it is literally in Sandy Shores. They would only call it Sandy Shores Airbase Bunker if they felt the need to differentiate it from other "Airbase" bunker locations. They probably just called it Los Santos Airbase Bunker because it's the only bunker in Los Santos located near an airfield. I could be wrong but I don't think a lot of aircraft is housed underground IRL.

I didn't think about that, but you're right actually. You can barely make out the features of the half-track, yet the sign is very prominent.

 

I don't think they'd litter it with errors if it was going to be the main focus like that either.

People think that it being called an airbase is just because it's close to Trevor's place (in case you didn't play SP, that's the Sandy Shores Airfield).

 

But because of all the errors with that - the wrong location, unusual name, and decent distance between the bunker and that airfield (airfield; not airbase) - I think it's called an airbase because it'll house air vehicles.

 

That's my thinking anyway. I'm speculating.

The 6th is fine for me to wait for lol but the others man we have waited so long I just want to play gunrunning the other dates don't really make a ton of sense so I'm thinking the 6th but at the same time the event weeks go until the 13th I'm not that patient anymore I used to be but now this is getting to me now I cant wait anymore why can't we play it by the 6th litterally everything should be done by then the dlc the verification why make us wait an extra week? I know its not confirmed but I don't know what to think. I can't wait anymore we have waited so long for this dlc. If you guys could say reasons why you think the dlc will come on a certain date just tell me I need to know lol! So much waiting

Actually makes much sense to have a bunker to store land vehicles, then a floating MOC (carrier, landing ship) to store air and sea vehicles.

 

It sounds so good so probably it's just myself dreaming and we aren't gonna get aircrafts in this update.

Exactly this, if you want to get your hopes up about housing and customizing aircraft... you better start praying the "mobile command centers" or whatever they teased are aircraft carriers.

Technically all they promised yet is for gunrunning to drop before 21 june.
