Next DLC Speculation Thread (Part 3)

If there's no info by the 26th ... Urgh. Guess I'd survive. But still, I just want some idea of what's actually in it.

Why do they have to leave room for doubt? They should just give a good idea so we know whether or not to get excited for it.

i'm more scared that we won't have as much stuff in the dlc on release day,but most will be kept for drip feed.

i don't know but i'm getting that weird feeling .

What if the DLC that they are testing in qabeta was not gunrunning but instead it is a surprise DLC and they plan on releasing gunrunning in July/August ?

"Gunrunning and more coming spring and summer..."

Why is this so difficult to grasp? Gunrunning in spring (before June 21st) and "more" this summer. Seems rather self-explanatory to me.

I think they don't give us info too early because people would eventually lose their hype.

My guess is they will give us info as close as possible to the release day.

That is why trailer 26th and release 30th sounds good.

With that said, no one can know for sure.

Whatever I believe may 30th. for about a year they have always released an update 2 weeks after qabeta updated. Plus there is memorial day on 29th makes sense for military. There is also the different event week which implies may 26th is more gunrunning information then gunrunning release on may 30th it just makes perfect sense.

You're forgetting about the third and final week of official testing (assuming after two weeks of qabeta updates) that belongs to Sony, Microsoft, and Steam.

What's the longest they drip fed content for ?

I think if we have 4 weeks of drip feed content it's cool, if it is more than that, we are screwed

Bikers was the longest drip fed as far as I can tell... 8 vehicles locked behind tunables for god's sake. Bikers came out October 4th, the last drip fed vehicle from that update came out November 22nd.

I'm betting on at least 12 drip feed cars.

That would explain the "and more [...] this summer".

But we never waited to long for a DLC so 3 months since announcement and 3 months for drip feed is too much.

If there is a lot of drip feed content, i hope they will release like 3/4 vehicles a week.

qabeta and tunables - 2 words I've never seen anywhere other than on here!

Can anyone briefly explain what the hell they mean in a sentence or two?! Cheers.

That would be lovely.

If the Hunter is one of them though..

Qabeta: place where they test updates

Tunables: Values they change in game files to activate event weeks

I don't know if I'd survive the 26th with no new info. I already feel like I'm going to explode already I haven't been this hyped for an update since Heists. Ever since the game came out I wanted to be the boss once that dream was realized in FFAF I said "Cool but what if I just sold drugs or guns" half of my dream was realized in Bikers now it's time to finally complete my wish.

I'm starting to get really bad feeling about this upcoming DLC.

One of two things that will more than likely happen, situations that have plagued previous DLCs.

Well, i could have agreed with you a week ago.

But i just saw the GTA 5 copies sales report from the take-two meetings:

GTA 5 sales in 2016>2015>2014 and 2017 is going better than 2016 so far

So i think as long as the sales keep growing, we will keep getting more and more content.

I also had a speculation i didn't share yet that is:

They have started working on gunrunning right after I/E and CS:SVC was made by a small group of developers in a small amount of time to keep the community waiting for gunrunning. I mean CS:SVC was a pretty easy DLC to make, they just had to introduce new boosts.

So if my speculation i right, they have been working on gunrunning for 6 months and we should expect the biggest DLC ever.

I mean in the aspect of the trends that newer DLCs have had.

#1: Limitation of new vehicles. Sure we may get some nifty new armored/armed vehicles (maybe even the Hunter). However after seeing what happened with Special Personal Vehicles, there's no reason to doubt that R* will do the same with new content, meaning the only place you can use them is in Free Roam.

#2: Not living up to the hype. As in all this speculation at this point with no trailer from R* yet. This could turn out like the Biker Businesses, where it had a promising concept but falls short as nothing more than a VIP/CEO reskin of jobs/activities. Again it's very like R* to simply change up already existing content to be themed differently.

They did the same thing with Finance and Felony last year.. pretty sure they started working on it right after Executives and Other Criminals, being that they called FAFF a sequel to it and who in their right mind would make a sequel for something before actually putting the first one out.

They sort of kept us at bay with some of the awesome event weeks during the first half of 2016 as well as Lowriders 2 and the introduction of drip fed content (ugh lol)

I'm looking forward to seeing a picture or two on Newswire (hopefully this friday). A Titan with cargo space or a fully functional Dewbauchee JB700 would be definitely welcomed. I'm wondering how many weeks we are from the last Gunrunning dripfeed content.

What i'ill say now may seem very unlikely, but it is just an opinion:

They have a team of developers working on LC map expansion; what makes me say that is the fact that many of reputable leakers supported this with info coming from different sources and didn't change their opinion since then, they just didn't give us any news.

+ it sounds good for R* calendar:

ending of 2017 : LC map expansion, 2018: RDR 2, 2019: GTA VI announcement, 2020 GTA VI release.

If you go on any R* Support Article, it all says updated today

ex: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/236222747

Most likely means nothing tho

You can update any article by replying to "Was this article helpful?"

Yes, they did update all of them if you checked it from the Search results.

Search results show actual updated articles.

Most likely nothing as you said.

See, that's close to what's been my theory for a long while, now:

I'm convinced at this point that by the end of the year, R* reviews how well GTAO is doing, and based on that, decides whether or not to commit to another year of updates. Seeing as so far, it's still a roaring success on all counts, they've been perfectly happy to press on in 2016 and now 2017.

That means that they then need to plan out and create all the new update content for the next year - and if they're planning it around the end of the year/the start of the following year, it's going to take time for them to get the substantial stuff together*. Hence why it took so long until FAFF came out (June last year), and why it's shaping up more or less the same with gun-running this year.

That's why we had things like Special Vehicle Circuit this year, and Be My Valentine (including the Banshee/Sultan variants) and Lowriders: Custom Classics last year - smaller updates that rely on a fair amount of reused assets, rather than a whole lot of all-new vehicles and whatnot. That's stuff they can put together reasonably quickly (because it doesn't need to reinvent the wheel), and then put out to break up the gap between the big, proper updates.

*there are exceptions to this - for example, Cunning Stunts, which was in the works for a long time, compared to more conventional updates. Probably explains why it came so quickly after FAFF - it was a longer-term project, and thus didn't fit neatly into the usual update schedule. Or something like that. :p

What is with all the new members lately tho ? :p

And why are a lot of them really annoying?

IKR. Freakin noobs. What do they think this is, an open forum or somethin? Pffft  They still think their opinions are just as important as the elites. Send them to the fema camps for retraining.

Welp they've been working for that long because there's barely any singleplayer and cut content left to retread, so MAYBE they get to work from now on and MAYBE this dlc achieves something instead of being one of the lazy halfassed "additions" we've been getting pumped into freeroam for the past 2 years. But then again this is Rockstar we are speaking of... and the truth is that they are just going to add the Hunter on top of the sh*tcake dlc and we are gonna love them for it... and i'm not being sarcastic because i'm gonna love them too... just being a cynic like they taught me. f*cking c*nts with their goddamn addictive game .

So, the current event ends Thursday, leaving Friday for something different (maybe) and a 3-day weekend from most of us in the US.

You suppose exclusive pajamas each day, maybe adding the Hearse to Southern San Andreas website for Memorial Day?
