My bad. I was looking at the ending dates for the 2X$ adversary mode and stunt races. Hopefully the 11th for the DoD and RPB vehicles.

I do have one issue with this few days event is that we don't get a percent off on other cars and other stuff. Hopefully that will be added next week.

Can't wait for the official announcement, seems a lot of the forum are forgetting there was never a concrete release date, making it seem R* is in the wrong. Easy mistake with all the thugging instead of the hugging the atmosphere gets around these parts.

They aren't going to drip feed the RPB vehicles. They are already Online. There is nothing to "release". At most, they will unlock them for everyone to purchase, but I would wager that wouldn't be a very big shark card payday for them.

 

The only vehicles that make sense are the story mode only vehicles. The Duke O Death and Race Cars. Then there is the Lost Slamvan which is the odd one out, nobody has it but it is only available Online. #Logic.

 

The logical thing would be for Rockstar to bundle the DoD in with NEW vehicles. As I've said before, what makes the most sense is for DoD to be part of the Gun Running update. I mean, it fits the theme. I'm not saying that's for sure what they'll do, just saying that it's what makes sense.

 

So IF that were the case, I'd expect something along the lines of a new armed/armored Patriot, a couple militia-style offroad vehicles, some other Insurgent-type vehicles, and the DoD to be released as part of the Gun Running update, which I STILL believe is coming sooner than June.

 

But we'll see. Rockstar isn't known for logic.

Now that I think about it the DoD will probably be like the most recently released special vehicles. It will probably feature in it's own special Gunrunning mission, and will be on sale on the Warstock site for a certain price for non-returning players and after said mission is completed will be available for a slightly lower price, and free for returning players like the stock cars. It's just an idea that would sort of make sense. I have no proof whatsoever to back this up, just my speculation. They'll probably add more special vehicles like a Technical Patriot, a modern Patriot armored up like the XLS, and maybe some more armed vehicles in the style of the Armored Boxville that are on sale on Warstock for a certain amount, and once certain missions are done, a cheaper price gets unlocked. Again, purely speculation, but given what's been added this year, not all that far-fetched.

Well the logical thing would be to release the DoD like a week before Gunrunning, when they announce it.

The DoD is not new to online, it sometimes appears as a vehicle in the Moving Target freemode event - I've driven one of those before.

 

Considering Adversary Modes, we have yet to see the Top Down anniversary mode which was both hinted at by leakers (showing the camera) and explicitly mentioned by R*

Yeah. Works out at about the same kind of pacing as Lowriders: Custom Classics, followed by FAFF. Bit of 'stalling for time' filler (that's sold as part 2 of a previous update, no less), while R* gets the first big thing of the year ready by the beginning of Summer.

 

As for the DO'D and the returning player stuff, I suspect R*'s putting all of that out in one go, because while the DO'D is something that a lot of people will buy, and it's 'new to own legally', it's not 'brand-new, never been in the game at all' - as in, it's not like the GP1 was there in single-player all this time. To get around the fact that the last 'new' vehicle isn't quite as big of a novelty as the other stuff, R* can offset that by just shoving in all the other returning player things for anyone who hasn't got it - almost like the rationale is that 'D'OD and RPB vehicles = 1 all-new vehicle', in terms of value/marketability.

 

And on top of that, the current event discounts end in time for Tuesday, which suggests the next adversary mode at the same time as all the RPB stuff - looks to me like the last 'big' (relatively speaking! ) blow-out from Special Vehicle Circuit, and then ...a month or two (or a month-and-a-half...) before the next update proper, which is probably gun-running, since there's been no word or evidence to suggest anything else before.

I suppose I really should channel my more obsessive side into something a little more important next time (Hunters are extremely important obviously - just ... A lot of energy went into going on about it and making heli videos and everything).

 

Although, the reactions of those who want me to stop would be pretty good lol.
