Said prior, which would mean before not around. I used that as a basis since a majority of the community are millennials. Also it wasn't in the 70's when it became an actual term, it was in the early 60's and originated from Japanese motorcycles, because of the region they were built in. It wasn't until 68 that the term was also used with in the automotive field. I've raced quite a long as well, building cars as well. I would love to see your professional portfolio Mach.. Doing here and there maint doesn't qualify you as ASE certified.. When were you at the Haug-Hook fam? I was just there in August.

 

Well I guess we are in good company then. I am an ASE certified tech at a GM dealership actually. I'm not quite that old, I was just saying 70's based on what I have been told by some people that were around in the height of that time.

 

Last time I was at the 'Ring was 2011 when I was stationed in Germany.

 

 

Edit: f*ck sorry guys we are way off topic. I think we are going to get an update soon. Like in about 3 weeks or so a smaller update to add some new Valentines Day hidden content. Like last year with the Sultan and Banshee.

ooh i get that statement, there is nothing more fun than playing around in a slow car, the amount of fun i have in my uncles 92 Land Rover Discovery is insane, 4.6L V8 connected to a 4 speed auto lugging around 3 tonnes of land rover and another tonne of AV equipment means this beast can barely go over 90km/h and it takes a good 30-40 seconds just to reach 60, on the highway its so goddamn scary, but so fun, you feel that your movements of the wheel do nothing while also feeling like just a tap would end up flattening the prius next to you against a guard rail

No love for Aussie cars and Jap regular cars? i mean we already have the Kingswood (yes its a HK kingswood, not an El Camino), commodore and Falcon police car, but nothing else of Aussie Variety, and I like all these jap performance cars, but can we get something like a Subaru Liberty (Legacy for non Australians) or a Toyota Corolla Ascent? something japanese that holds 4 people no problems and isn't all about performance

I still think we need a tiny microcar based on a BMW Isetta. Maybe call it the Ubermacht Zwerg? And for authenticity, give it the Faggio Mod's engine sound. Obviously it would be in the Compacts class, where I would slot it infront of the Prairie.

Again, I'd be tempted to think that this year, R* might do something new, rather than just expand on the existing Prohibition-era theme - after all, there's a lot more they could do that's more directly about Valentine's Day, instead of iterating on the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.

 

However, what I'm beginning to wonder is if R* will put out the next full update around that time, considering how 2016's Halloween/Xmas content felt less like separate specials this time around, and more just 'here's the old stuff, and something in the middle of all the other items we're drip-feeding each week'. The Sanctus was sorta Halloween-y, but it's still listed as part of Bikers, and is basically just a modified Avarus - meanwhile, the Festive Surprise this year did add new clothes and stuff, but the vehicles were just more Import/Export cars, not something specially-added for Xmas.

 

So, with that being the case, I wonder: will R* actually add any new V-day things at all, or will they just put out 'generic update vehicle of the week' in time for the 14th, put some discounts on the Be My Valentine/Valentine's Day Massacre items, and have done - ?

 

 

The only thing that'd make me doubt that R* will put out the next update in February is that Valentine's Day falls on a Tuesday - so for a full update to include Valentine's Stuff (or just 'stuff that happens to come out near V-day but isn't actually V-day-themed' ), it'd either have to come out on the 14th itself, or Tuesday February 7th the week before. That's only 17 days away - not massively unrealistic schedule-wise for a new update (2 months after the last update proper, and the best part of 1 month after the last of the Import/Export content dropped), but feels a bit too soon, IMO.

 

The alternative would be to do something a bit like the racecars/adversary mode last year - put the patch out in advance of Valentine's Day with a few extra things - but again, that presumes R* even goes to the effort of a substantial-enough Valentine's Day update to warrant an update just for it, which doesn't really fit with their rather 'eh, whatever' approach to the 2016 Halloween/Xmas content.

Also fight club DLC or any Melee based DLC would be horrible, because the net code for melee fights now is horrible. It's a horrible teleporting sh*t hit detection clusterf*ck. Much, much worse than ranged combat. Why would we want more of it? It's not going to get better because this games netcode just doesn't work well in that context.

I agree with that. No more minimum player style missions, but, I would like more missions in the style of those he mentioned. At least some with interesting gameplay and objectives. Cutscenes would be nice too so long as they are skipable if the player chooses.

Sure. The missions are fine, and cutscenes are cool, but I could do the majority of them solo. Having to lug around the no-brain population of this game when no friends are online is anti-fun though.
