Ah man the good old tuner vs ricer debate. People just can't get it through their head that those terms mean the same thing to many people, especially old school people. Real old school people. Is it a Japanese brand? Then my Dad is gonna call it a ricer. Just the way it is. Doesn't matter if it is the cleanest 1000 hp Skyline on the planet, still a ricer to him.

Ok, and that's wrong. Your point is?A slang term can't be right or wrong imo.

I personally don't call them either term. I just call them what they are. 😊

Or just play the older Grand Theft Autos for a while. :colgate:

There's a discount on GTA Vice City for me on PS4, so I went and bought it ASAP. It ends tomorrow.

I still think we need a tiny microcar based on a BMW Isetta. Maybe call it the Ubermacht Zwerg? And for authenticity, give it the Faggio Mod's engine sound. Obviously it would be in the Compacts class, where I would slot it infront of the Prairie.

Would buy that

Sentinel Actual

Everyone here wants a new Mercedes or BMW, but not one mention of Alfa Romeo?

Now that I think about it... wouldn't that be the perfect new vehicle brand for the Valentine's Day update?

Mainly because of the word Romeo, I suppose. But hey, we haven't had a new brand since the IGG Part 2 update, which was Progen (McLaren).

I have a sinking feeling that Rockstar is entitrely averse to 'regular' foreign/euro car brands due to their supposed lack of presence in the US (from what I've read).

But that's just speculation.

They are. There's no Alfa Romeo/Pagani equivalent in the game, everything foreign is basically lumped under either Grotti or Pegassi. So if an Alfa came out, my money's on it being branded a Grotti. Like how the Fiat 500 based Brioso was branded the same way.

I want this as an Ubermacht model:

Call it the Seraph. Hell, the M5 could be the Seraph XS.

Just a bit of history for you young street racers. Back in the day the motor city (Detroit) was big bore badass supplier. The term Ricer was originally chattered for 2 types of vehicles. 1. any 4 banger which was mostly civics, integra, eclipse etc etc..(prior to 2000) that would dump a ton of money into their car only to still be stomped by the naturally aspirated V8's. 2. any non domestic that has been modified with many accessories only to stay below par in the street racing scene. After fast and furious came out the term "Ricer" was used more than ever and began to take on a new meaning around 2006. The term "RICER" has transitioned into a 4 banger/6 cylinder import that kids would just make ugly as f*ck with all the accessories (the over the top cars most often mexicans are spotted racing around in that looks like F&F threw up on and hits 60 in 5 minutes (not racist just a common sight with that)). Today JDM's and other imports are not considered ricers, but rather Tunerz because of the new tech that helps these little 4 bangers pump out insane power (Evo MR), and the new 6 cylinders that can oem with over 300 hp naturally aspirated. Today's community see's the Asian, European, and even domestic vehicles that are not big bad ass V8's and above as Tunerz. A good tune will have a 4 banger roast a v8 these days.

Even if the v8 put as much cash and time into their engine as the 4 banger?

Interesting diversion, but iirc yes, the v8's middle cylinders will melt before the i4 runs out of steam. Depending on bank angle I guess.

Given enough money though, there's no replacement for displacement.

They also mean the same thing to car noobs like me :p

Edit: in regards to the talk about stock market, this never was gonna happen back when rockstar was just incompetent and was with a never ending war against cheaters, imagen how likely this is to happen with the current rockstar that still has the same war against cheats but has on top of that become so greedy i have not used the term underpriced in over a year

Yup, I've got a buddy with a stage 3 r32 1000hp, a buddy with a 980hp supra, and a friend with a twin turbo vette. 1300hp. They go back and forth in freeway races (vette can't get any traction in the stand stills). They've all dropped about 30-60k on their cars. Heavy in the street race scene.

I'm pretty new to engine tuning in real life and I just started a project restomod 66 Chevelle literally from the ground up that will be LS3 based, probably with a Kenne Bell 2.8L supercharger in it. Possibly 3.6L but most likely the smaller one. I've read up a lot on the v8 side of things but not on the v6 or v4 side of tuning, so the topic is interesting to me. I didn't know that much progress had been made with the smaller displacement engines. Are there any links/sites you can send me towards?

Sorry for the derail, thanks for the reply!

Don't take my advice, would be my advice :)

But you're looking at forced induction, basically.

Funnily enough I have a I4, VR6 and V8. V8 wins :D

Well yeah, if I wasn't going to do forced induction I would start with 540 or a zz572. I have plenty of space under the hood!

I figure any information is good information. Most people I know only deal in muscle and v8, I knew one guy that had an awesome supra but he couldn't tell me anything about it because he wrote a check for it and someone else did all the work. He had basically no idea any details what so ever under his hood.

Honda lumps do silly power even NA, I've heard 500bhp with enough block bracing etc.

Your best bet would be a US VW or Honda or whatever forum, I guess. Ultimately though it's just half a V8 so same goes, broadly.

I have -62 Fairlane with 302 V8 and -68 Escort with 1,6l I4. Both are stock except the carbs and Escort is like twice as fast, because it's half the weight. I also have -65 Mustang with 200cid I6 and it's the slowest of the three (but most fun)

Reminds me of the 13 year old Top Gear video where Jeremy Clarkson drove the Mitsubishi Ralliart's FQ400 vs a Murcielago driven by a British Touring car champion and the little 2l 400hp 4 banger managed to keep up with the 6,2 litre v12.

Which reminds me, R* should give us a Tuners vs Muscle dlc. There's a few Japanese cars in game that could use some Benny's treatment and a few muscle cars in game that could use some grunt. A few additional cars would spice it up especially now that we have a 120 car slots to waste :D

Hopefully that sort of update would increase the speed of at least most of the supers, sports, muscle, and sport classics cars by at least 15 mph. Gta can easily handle 150 mph in freemode. Like when the RE-7B was glitched out the game was loading just fine especially in races. Or the fact you left everyone behind and got away from the hurricane lag demolition derby of the other racers. Besides the point #IncreaseCarSpeeds Sad have to glitch out my 811 just to go super car speeds in a super car.

high performance 4 pot engines are typically more stressed than V8s, simply because they have to work harder to produce the power they do - typically from turbochargers, which add a lot of heat.

A typical 4 pot will be more fuel efficient, a turbo engine moreso. This explains why they are so common now, even in the USA, home of the V8.

That said, if you want ultimate power, you go V8. Don't believe me ? go to your local drag strip And watch some pro classes and even the clubman classes. The number of v8s will outnumbered anything else. This is because they can produce massive power for relatively small cost. A top fuel engine is making close to 8000hp, a pro mod somewhere around 3-3500hp. There isn't any 4 pot thats going to achieve that reliably for anywhere near the same cost, if at all.

Although output by todays standard isn't all that impressive the original small block chevy lasted so long (1955 to the early 90s) without major change because they were easy and very cheap to make and were pretty reliable. In 1957 the 283 FI engine made 283hp, when was the first factory 4 pot that did that ? probably 40 years later and was still more complex and expensive.

All the engine formats have their place, I've driven 4 pot turbos for years and recently moved to a straight 6 turbo. My project car has a v8. What we should do is enjoy whatever internal combustion engines we like before they get taen away and replace with soulless, boring electric motors and battery packs.

Now we can talk to Weapon. ?

Yes. I like Supercar, Hypercar, Customcar, Bike.

But i want some new weapon like.

I'll be happy as long as we get some more FN weapons.

Where is my FN Scar, Rockstar?!

Preferable fn scar-h.

I do not see what would be so special about yet an other assault rifle thats either gonna be underpowered or overpowered because rockstar does not bother balancing

Yes I agree the weapons do have balance issues. A three round burst AR is something that would be unique. It could be powerful because to hit your target you wouldn't be rewarded for spraying like a fully automatic AR. A heavy AR that is semi auto based on the FN FAL could also have its own characteristics.

Yup.

Besides, there's the old adage "I'd rather drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow"

Most cars have abilities well beyond most of us. I would rather beat the snot out of a Mitsubishi Mirage than try to wring out my last 10% of skill in an Evo.

Lol @ young street racers. The term ricer originated way before any FnF nonsense and way before the 2000's. It originated in 1970's when imported cars became more popular in the states.

I won't get into what is fast and what isnt blah blah. 5 bracket race trophies, 3000+ drag strip passes, 20+ Nurburgring laps, multiple autocross podium finishes, and daily maintenance and repairs on the newest high performance cars says I know exacly what a V8, V6, 5 cyl, and 4 cyl car is capable of. Anything can be made fast and reliable. ANYTHING.

Said prior, which would mean before not around. I used that as a basis since a majority of the community are millennials. Also it wasn't in the 70's when it became an actual term, it was in the early 60's and originated from Japanese motorcycles, because of the region they were built in. It wasn't until 68 that the term was also used with in the automotive field. I've raced quite a long as well, building cars as well. I would love to see your professional portfolio Mach.. Doing here and there maint doesn't qualify you as ASE certified.. When were you at the Haug-Hook fam? I was just there in August.
