If you all think the drip feeding here is bad, play Metal Gear Solid V.

There was an update last May which added 6 new items, a swimsuit 'camo', and about a million reskins for that swimsuit among other changes & improvements.

Swimsuits were drip-fed every week during summer until November/Christmas. One swimsuit per one of the three events that were in constant, repetitive, never-changing, rotation each week for the past two years. And you didn't just get them for logging in. You had to play the event to get reward points and redeem the swimsuit 'blueprints' for those points, then wait 7 days for the swimsuit to get developed. Every week.

As for the items; three weapons. Three security items. As of today, one weapon is still yet to be released, and I think one of those security items, too. First weapon was available immediately, the next weapon was released months later, the third one is still not here. I think there is still a weapon and some camo reskins from older updates (back in 2015!) yet to be released.

I'd honestly take GTA V's drip-feed over MGSV's any day.

Well, at least GTA V wasn't as big of a failure as MGSV was (MGS is my favorite game, GTA doesn't even compare in reality, unless we're talking about MGSV)

I like to talk sh*t on R*. But, well, Konami takes the cake as the worst company ever.

Drip feeding is a good thing to make the wait easier between updates.

Even if it's just a vehicle, it's something to focus on.

Otherwise, well... nothing. You just wait. You might get bored and stop playing, whatever.

The dripfeed may encourage you to grind some money, now that we have different ways to do it, and to be honest, we asked for it.

Also, given that Rockstar seem to release 'fancier' versions of old stuff, how great is the chance that there will be a fancier version of Hunter, that is seen in the movie trailers?

I have a strong feeling that they will deliver something very akin to a thing we asked so much for, but change it in something different.

Like a RAH-66 Comanche. It is not really the classic we were looking for, but it has the 'edgy' design that kids love so much and it looks expensive enough. Now on to plaster some word between "black", "silent", "elite", "deadly", "pizza" as a name and there we go.

Just out of interest, did R* leave any hints as to what is next in terms of upcoming updates like they did for the Bikers Newswire post?

Think of the people that have an extremely busy schedule and rarely get to play, maybe they get a chance to play the day when a DLC drops, and the one car they were looking forward to wont be out for another two weeks . Just using that as a random example. Getting all the content at once can allow people to pick and choose but of course that's no good for shark card sales. Those people might not pick up the game even when the vehicle they want is released, whether it's because they dont have time or got tired of waiting. It can go both ways.

The drip feeding wouldnt be so bad if we got more than cars, like Hunter said on the last page. If R* decided to drip feed cars, but also released 10 clothing items, a few tattoos and other crap with that car, it may give people more to look forward to. Why not drip feed pegasus vehicles? Or apartment/office customization? Hell, they could drip feed CEO work and Contact missions!

There's a lot of stuff they could release periodically, but it seems to always be restricted to vehicles, and sometimes Adversary Modes

The only reason people get pissed about drip feeding is because they know the cars are on their way because people pull the files apart and find them.

If they did drip feeds by giving a small update to add each car to the game every couple of weeks no-one would be upset, because no-one would know what was coming until it arrived.

Its just impatience, you know it exists so you want it immediately and act like a sulky 5 year old when you can't.

Happy Hunter

No; I get p*ssed about it because they never drip-feed anything but cars.

I want something to really mix up free mode. Maybe a beefy new sniper, a flame thrower, a helicopter, and so on.

Dripfeeding would definitely be more tolerable if they added more than just a single vehicle and MAYBE an adversary mode at a time.

Give me a new firearm and some new clothes and maybe I would accept dripfeeding a little better. It's pathetic how far R* have fallen off on the subject of guns in the past year or so of updates.

There should be a dripfeeding thing with aircrafts.

Something like they sorta did with FAFF would be ideal - or like Cunning Stunts. Maybe one or two vehicles, every Tuesday, with maybe a new t-shirt or something as well.

Thing is, the point of stretching out an update for week after week only works if there's a predictable, consistent schedule, with something that's at least half-decent every time. Breaking up the releases so that people have no idea whether to anticipate something that week or not, or putting out two things one week, nothing the next, or ...only putting out one of the more underwhelming things out as the sole release of a particular week? That's going to break the 'flow', and defeats the point of prolonging the release schedule.

sh*t, I was about to make a long post explaining but then said f*ck it and I didn't do it.
Fking hell, I remember doing the exact same thing I just did a few months ago or maybe one year ago.

Anyway I will just answer you with "They can't do that", you want reasons then search for them.

Google "Why can't Sony and Microsoft use the Flash to approve client updates ?"

With over two dozen shirts/outfits in the files (some dating back to summer), I'd say the clothing dripfeed is far worse than the car dripfeed :p

On the subject of weapons, other than something radically different like a flame thrower, what other variation of what we have would be "new"?

A double-action revolver, a semi-auto rifle without a scope, clipfed guns, vintage bolt-action rifle without a scope attachment, rifle with underslung gl/shotgun mount, more satisfying weapons in general etc

Maybe it's because I'm a gun enthusiast IRL but I don't get people who say that there's no way for new guns to be interesting.

Don't give them ideas, they could very well be giving us 1 rotor blade per week for 3mil each until you can assemble the thing back together.

Crossbows would be new.

Slingshots would be new.

Underwater guns like APS or spearguns would be new.

EMP weapons to disrupt car ignition would be new.

Defensive, non-lethal and gag weapons like smoke grenades with off radar effect, stunners, snowballs, paintball and spray cans would be new.

Swords like katana, scutum or dagger would be new.

And the possibility to attribute your assortment of weapons to Heists, Contact missions etc. would be new.

It's a large shield.

I would rather be able to permanently remove weapons, be it by selling or throwing them away for eternity.

Think hospital IV or hamster water bottle. Basically a sloooooww steady release. It would be ok, but pc ppl get access day 2, while the rest of us wait forever.

Hopefully they never dripfeed say.... a Chainsaw or Flamethrower. I'd lose my sh*t if R* was holding it away. Unless it was for Halloween, ONLY then I'd be okay with it.

I think R* hasn't added that many guns recently though, is cause nobody's going to use them if they aren't as good as the ones we have. That new assault rifle? Tossed it and continued using my Special Carbine. Only new gun I've actually used is the new shotgun, cause it's a good shotgun to use on bikes.

But yeah, what R* did in an earlier dripfeed was okay. Releasing a FEW toys at a time, not ONE.... every freaking week. It's f*cking painful to suffer the wait for the vehicle you know is coming.

Yea, but that game is so sh*tty and unnoteworthy in general(especially for a metal gear solid game) its now collecting dust since about....1 or 2 months after its release date(edit: in my case)

I just prefer no drip feeding at all, like cockstar did before gtao became really crappy quality wise.

Don't even care if there are 2 or even 3 months between every update, sure some emotional people all over the internet will moan about that, but those are just stupid.

Just because something isn't 100% competitively viable doesn't mean nobody uses them whatsoever. The Heavy Revolver is disregarded by the majority of players as a joke but it's a mainstay in my loadout no matter what.

R* are also not very scared to add content nobody plays or interacts with - look at the majority of Adversary modes shortly after release.

Also there hasn't been a new Assault Rifle added since Lowrider CC so I'm not really sure what you're referring to there.

It's fairly convenient to pick and choose what you want to quote to help your argument. As I said at the end of that paragraph, that busy person may not get a chance to play the game for a while (even after the vehicle they wanted is released) or they might lose interest altogether. That's the problem. R* can be attracting players who for some reason enjoying waiting weeks for a new vehicle, but it can be pushing others away.

It's a bit of impatience and a bit of "Why the f*ck do we have to wait for something that's already in the update?". They probably shouldn't include new vehicles if they're gonna be dripfed, that way everyone can be pleasantly surprised when they are released. Now, this doesn't affect me since I have the game on PC and can try everything out a day or two later after an update drops. My point was that drip feeding f*cks over the players who have a career and/or busy life

I don't have a problem with drip feeding so long as the content being drip fed is worth the wait.

Sometimes I think it is, sometimes not. Including weapons or clothes (not pajamas or T shirts) would make the drips a little better.

Rockstar just needs to give us a damn mission creator. We have more than enough cars and vehicles in general. Only hackers have all the new stuff... and to those of you that own it all legitimately... wtf do you drink water from a pouch?
