Anyone can use loopholes to register their R34s, RHD Supras, other Skylines, etc in states like Florida though..

 

Also while risking it all every time it's pulled out onto the streets. It's a matter of time before they end up crushed.

No car is "banned" from the U.S. They just have to be altered to meet U.S. saftey and emission standards, if they are less than 25 years old.

 

Being LHD is not a requirement.

 

I have seen many R34s at car shows, converted and legal to drive. I looked into it one time when I lived in Germany. Was gonna buy a regular R33, LHD btw, but it was gonna cost too much for a non GTR to be worth converting.

 

Most states consider cars over 25 years old as classics, 35 years antique. I inspect cars everyday. Part of the job.

There are also RHD US cars, they make Jeeps RHD for postal use, and certain Subarus (Mostly old Legacys). They were made LHD in the US for postal use, and these cars are 100% legal to own for normal everyday use. I almost bought a RHD 1993 Legacy but didn't due to it being extremely rusty.

Regardless, the car in game is going be LHD. They aren't gonna make all new animations for one car. Also the San Andreas version was LHD.

 

Even though it would be neat for it to be RHD.

All of that being said I still kind of hope it is RHD considering the R34 in MC:LA was.

Downdetector is saying GTA:V serves are heavily affected in East Side of US, and in Britain/UK, and surrounding countries/area.

 

Maintenance or something else, we don't know.E

 

DIT: Despite this unexpected "maintenance" happening on two separate instances in less than 3 days, and R* says that everything is fine on every spectrum according to support.rockstargames.com , I really do wonder what's happening. It's not like sudden player spikes with hundreds/thousands of new users just get on then get off when these problems start arising.
