I don't get why people are complaining about potential amphibious vehicles. These exist in real life, they're not a major deal if designed non-ridiculously, it's something with a GTA precedent (the hovercraft from San Andreas - not to mention the Dodo seaplane)... what's the big deal?

People have been asking for armed boats for a while now, take this as how close to that as we'll get for now. Again, I fail to see the problem in this matter, only the Ruiner2000.

 

Armed boats are a bit different than armed boats that can also travel on land...

I absolutely don't care about that either. I'm trying to imagine why anyone would. You know how long those amphibious gun-carrying ATVs will be popular? About as long as it takes people to blow up a few hundred thousand of them with sticky bombs and the compact GL, and then you'll barely ever see them again except when people feel like goofing off. I can guarantee that 1) they won't be that fast; 2) the machine guns won't be that effective (and will be hard to aim at fast-driving, swerving targets); 3) the driver won't be protected whatsoever from auto-aim; and 4) they'll be absolute sh*t against any of the armed Pegasus vehicles we've already got. They're going to be fun novelties that ultimately prove to be mainly useful in just a few missions, and not at all in free roam.

 

I share a small amount of concern about the KITT car. The rest of this is A) no big deal to begin with, and B) likely to be another novelty that people stop using in a week or two. Making out like this stuff is the "future of GTA" is insanity. It's a tiny drop in a very large bucket, nothing more.

Perhaps that may be best left to after the update is released, then people can legitimately discuss exactly what is problematic, and in the appropriate threads for it, instead of everyone being divided into either "only see the bad and forget the good" or "reasonable" groups.

There's only a million different threads and polls showing people think they're in trouble, but of course, those just get ignored over and over. Same as the ton of threads complaining that jets need something done about them.

 

I don't think people are even annoyed at you being positive/refusing to be negative (which is your right, of course) - it's that we're all constantly told how we're all getting what we asked for, when we're clearly not.

 

Once again, it's all public only - despite extreme backlash, petitions asking for it to be invite only, etc.

 

Once again it's made clear they're not going to do anything whatsoever to balance the game, as they're just adding float-y cars with missiles instead.

 

Once again they're doing nothing with regards to aircraft.

 

I can pull out a load of threads, polls, petitions, etc. asking for these things. Where all the people asking for this stuff?

 

If some people want to believe this stuff will be good, then that's fine by me, and I won't get in their way - but it's not what people asked for, not at all.

 

The car guys are already getting themselves a 60-car garage - you think I could get just one little vehicle I want thrown my way? Not even that specific one, but just one vehicle in the class of vehicles I like? One?

 

Hopefully this thing's just a prank/some kid of joke anyway, so there's no need for people to get heated over it.

If this turns out to be true one thing is certain rockstar only cares about the fans who buys shark cards and from this I gather 12 year old kids who like things that go boom. I don't mean EVERYTHING THAT GOES BOOM I mean crazy ass sh*t that guy has "leaked". Yesterday I was talking about having some flashy light and hovering cars, that's some awesome wacky stuff but damn amphibious, armed jetskis?! a ton of ramp cars? Man, I was excited about one small ramp baby not an assortment of ramp mutants!

They also didn't have homing rocket launchers nor were they amphibious.

Know what vehicles do have those things, though? Pegasus vehicles. And I really don't see how a flying car with rockets will trump a Buzzard or jet in the sky, and the Insurgent or Turreted Limo could easily fight against the Ruiner2000 on the ground.

 

Except he said the ruiner was customisable, ergo, not pegasus...

 

As much as I believe this leak, I have my sincere doubts that after all this time, the first vehicle R* allow people to store as a PV that is armed, is one with rockets, and not something as simple as the Technical or Insurgent Pick-up. Maybe it's customisable for the Import/Export work, but as a player-owned vehicle, it has to be through Pegasus.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the Ruiner2000 with any of this, I also think it's over the top, but if it's being added, bitching about it before we can even experience what it's like and claiming it has ruined the entire update isn't gonna solve anything. I'll wait until we get it, test it out, see how damaging it is to normal freeroam gameplay, then make adjustments to overcome any problems it may provide. But I'm like Mach, I'm just trying to see all the good in this and not focus on that one bad thing that's been mentioned.
