Happy 5 years GTA Online!

1st October 2013, the day GTAV went online for PS3 and Xbox360.

 

Ah fond memories indeed, when you eventually managed to get on rather than spending hours in the clouds lol.

 

Been playing since day 1 and still no sign I'm bored of this game. I love it! The days when the best grinding missions were Coveted and Mixed Up With Coke, the biggest threat to players were those in supercars armed with sticky bombs or the tank, the Buzzard was the ultimate vehicle to have, everyone's radar blip was the same regardless of vehicle driven, and the mechanic would actually drive your car to you only to speed off with it in a panic due to a nearby gunfight.

 

I wonder if we'll get any special discounts tomorrow considering it's an anniversary? Let's hope so!

Spending ages doing my character and losing it then finishing the story as online wouldn't load due too them clouds. Lesson learned avoid first few days of online launch

Nowhere near a perfect game (because there is no such thing) but still impressive to be involved or even occasionally playing a game for that length of time.

2013 in southern San Andreas... Well, I was living in a Sabre Turbo and knocking over 24/7s and LTD stations for a living, trying to save up for a garage. Then my cousin deleted my character and spent all my money on his own cars, because, y'know, friendship. We kinda had a falling out in 2014, then, and so I didn't play Online until the game came to PC, and what a year 2015 was. But 2013 does feel like a simpler time, even if the game was teething.

 

Hope we do see some tribute from Rockstar, whether it's discounts or cash awards, though a tweet or Newswire post would be the bare minimum. Here's to another five years in Los Santos, may they be filled with fun and cars! and a map expansion

What can I say about it? It's not my favorite game but by far it's the game which I most dedicated time of my life.

It's like a on-off relationship: you get bored of the game and stop playing but later on you return, you get pissed with the game and it's toxic players but later on you return. And I keep doing this for 5 f*cking years.

It's hard to explain.

Also this game is just a perfect gf - first you love it, it makes you fly in the clouds. And then you hate it.

Server issues

 

My first kill was a guy who shot up the clothing store while I was buying pants after the intro mission

 

Then there was violent duct for 9k. And a repeat button

I remember spending ages using that sh*tty character creator to make my character only to enter the game and be told that it was having issues but would I like to make a temporary character that wont be saved until the issue was fixed only to have that character actually save.

PS if you plug your "time played" stat into this WA thingy (replacing mine on the left) it'll tell you how many GTA Years your char has been 'alive', defined as logged in and passing days 48m at a time;

I've only been on GTAO for a little over two years.

 

I still remember my stepson trying to convince me to buy a PS3 and GTA V back when it came out. My response was "No, because if I get it, playing that game will be all I'll want to do."

 

He buys me a PS3 and GTAV for Father's Day in 2016, I transfer to PS4 a few months later and I prove myself right, lol.

Was so jealous of you console folk back then. Even though we suffered through delays for the PC version, it was worth it.

Not to get all weepy and emotional but i owe alot to this game. Hoping for alot more because A sorry excuse oF an updaTE that disappeaRs like a HOnest nUn's silent faRt Shouldn't be the end of it.
