Cannot join heists/jobs: "Rockstar game services are unavailable right now"

This seems to be a common big problem right now. A lot of people seem to be suffering from this.
Based on posts on Rockstar support community this affects at least PS4 and PC version users.
Some posts at the support site mentioned that if they change language from English to something else it works, and when they change back, it doesn't work.
I am on PS4 btw. My PS4 is in Finnish language, my game in English, and I always have to press English when starting up game.
I wouldn't even start to think how that could affect joining jobs but hey..

I also saw some mentions of this on Reddit, although I'm unfamiliar with their site so I may have missed if there is a larger thread about it.

Apparently this started on Thurday/Friday. For me I noticed it when I tried playing heist with my friend this weekend. I am unable to join him at all, tried all kinds of joining methods. So then I tried joining randoms, and it's the same story. I cannot quick join any heists, old or Doomsday. Cannot join Martin's phone invites to races or Adv mode, I always get Rockstar game services are unavailable right now.

I also cannot host a heist, tried Doomsday setup Agent 14, didn't load, and even left me stuck in a view.
I have restarted my router, cleared game cache with L1+R1, none helped.

Game works otherwise fine, I am able to join my friend in a free mode lobby, I can start races and contact missions, just not heists, or join others on jobs. My MTU is normal.

 

I am wondering what kind of change could they have done to cause this problem, and why only some people are suffering from it.
My friend from USA was joining randoms all weekend. He did get this error message every now and again, but most of them worked. He said taking a heist invite through phone caused the problem 3 out 4 times, joing through quick jobs worked better, only once in a while he got the error.

For some, R* support said to play the game 2 hours with another language, then change back. WTF?

Anybody got more information or possible temp solutions to this?

If you also suffer from this, could you please post your platform and language (if that has anything to do with this?)

Can confirm that this is happening on my end as well (PC), specifically:

A friend tried to host, this past Friday evening (UK time), the rest of Act I that we had left to finish and he too ended up stuck with a specific camera view and couldn't leave it unless we invited him to another property.

 

I'm so glad I rush to finish any challenges/awards an update brings the second it comes out because I am always expecting some screw up like this one to happen in the future and effectively stop game progress.

 

But, hey, gotta patch those money glitches, amirite? Quality.

Had this last Friday (one week ago), me and several friends couldn't even get online because R* game services was unavailable or something like that but other friends could play without any problems

This glitch involving heists (OG heists at least) and language setting it's happening for a long while already (PS4), I thought they would have fixed by now, but looks like not.

Ah yes, that sucks. This one however is a different problem, even though with same error message.

I haven't played heists for a while, but other than playing the game in English, I don't know about any solution.

Ah so the old bug was about playing in another language than English? Explains why I never knew about it as my game language is English.

This does seem to be a new bug, but might be related to the old one, but in a wider scale?

I am on XB1 and constantly get disconnected from GTAO, can't join specific friends, and sometimes will join heists and it backs out randomly.  Other times I will join a mission, it gets ready to launch, but then I will be the only player in the lobby and it tries to populate the lobby again

Now that I think about it, yesterday's was incredibly sh*tty to join any job invites, even sh*ttier than it usually is.

Think if you were in the middle of a Mastermind when this error happened!

Tried again today, no go on joining, same error message.

I posted a clip about this yesterday and already 10 people commented they have the same problem and I'm not exactly a big YouTuber, lol.

 

Still haven't seen anybody mention they get this error on XBox, I wonder if it's just PS4 and PC?

Also Doomsday heists stopped working...When we leaving Facility then game kicks us immediately saying about "error launching job" happened this when D heist was released and then peoples cannot played Act 3 finale.Now it happens twice

They never fail to disappoint.

 

Been having the same problem here with all jobs for a few weeks now, PS4. Thought it was a myriad of coincidences, since I don't play as often as I used to, especially with others. No races, no heists, no LTS games. Can't even get into the newest adversary mode to make some dosh.

Par for the course for a company like Rockstar, I suppose. Maybe they'll fix it before Halloween.

Been awhile since i had the 'cannot connect to servers' issue, until today. Although i did connect after retry. With it being the 5 year anniversary, maybe Rockstar throwing some nostalgia our way..

Well, a little update, I was just able to join the new Sumo Remix adv mode, twice. But still error message when I tried joining old heist and Doomsday heist.

I change the lenguage setting to portuguese and I can  play! When I return the original lenguage the problem persist.. Try with another lenguage!

I tried joining all the jobs that had error (Martin's race, old adv. mode, old heist, DD heist) and they still do, only thing I can join is the new Sumo adv mode. So there is something that affects all  thoseold  jobs that isn't there for this new mode added today.

 

I really do not want to change my game language, I do not speak any of the other options than English. I want Rockstar to fix this ASAP without having to do workarounds that cause great discomfort.

I'm on PS4, I get to choose English at the start of game each time. I read if you change it to something else, it won't ask again. How would I go about to change it back if this would happen? Does clearing game cache give that option?

Its only work changing my lenguage.. In portuguese work, in inglish or spanish doesn't work.. Im doing bogdan heist.. I change the lenguage of the sistem In ps4 config options and the game take that configuration. Sorry for my english

I changed to french language and my pacific finale worked but D heist finale wont starting...Giving me that error message.I think R accidentally deleted some letters that's why maybe it's getting error message

Ah so you changed your PS4 language. I was thinking about it but I could only change it to English and English seems to be a problem.

 

I keep getting comments to my video that a lot of people have this same problem.

I wonder if this is fixed now? Today I was able to join 2 different Pac Standard lobbies and 2 different Doomsday heist lobbies through quick jobs.

Did not try to host my Doomsday yet.

Hope it's fixed properly now and today wasn't just a fluke.

Ohnoes. I tried again today and was able to join heists still and I know at least 4 others who it working now.

Was your PS4 and/or game in rest mode?
