mark.gunt22
I want to buy a ps4 pro RDR 2 bundle, but is it certain that the game will run in 4k on ps4 pro? Thank you.
Totallycasual
Yeah it'll be 4k checkerboard which at normal sofa to TV distance is incredibly hard to differentiate from native 4k. There's a decent power gap between the premium consoles from MS and Sony but if you go and watch some Digital Foundry videos of cross platform titles they literally have to pause certain frames and zoom in to find places that have some extra jaggies or a different pop in time. I have a PS4 Pro and a 4K HDR TV and have never regretted my purchase. Lets not forget that The Last of Us Part II is coming next year along with a bunch of other amazing Sony exclusives that are already out. Just for reference, im pretty sure all of the screenshots and footage that's floating around right now is all PS4 Pro. eastriver
The gameplay trailer shows the game is rendered at 1920*2160. Basically they cut back on vertical pixels. The game has 50% less pixels than 4K, 100% more than 1080p. About 25% more than 1440p. However the game does a good job at rendering a close to 4K experience by keeping the horizontal pixels but cutting the vertical pixels. Stevenrod1994
Alright so I've got both consoles, a PS4 Pro and Xbox 1 X. I really don't know what platform to buy the game for. I currently have the game pre-ordered for PS4. More of my friends are on Playstation, so for multiplayer I'm going to want the game on PS. However if there is going to be a staggering difference on Xbox 1 X, I might consider getting a copy for both. On the official Red Dead Redemption 2 website, looking at both copies, PS4 version says nothing about 4K, but Xbox version says "4K HDR Xbox 1 X Enhanced" I personally (by a landslide) am more interested in playing the story mode. I just want to make sure I play it in it's best potential form. I'm sure the X version will still be better, remember GTA V on Xbox One and PS4? Both 1080p, but PS4 had more grass lol Could be a similar situation, here. Also, for a good idea of a PS4 Pro 4K game, check out Horizon Zero Dawn. It's incredible, and had to tell it's checkerboard. Besides, PS4 has a lot of other great games. Ash_735
For now, what we know: PS4 Pro - 1920x2160, then Checkerboard upscales to 3840x2160 - 30fps - Possibly lower texture filtering - HDR (real game changer if they've done it right) Xbox One X - 3840x2160 - 30fps - 16x AF texture filtering - HDR Downsampling to 1080p is available on both to make the picture quality look better on 1080p screens. Have we heard anything? 30fps and HDR are a given, and the resolution is something we can presume, given what the Pro can do, and knowing the X's hardware. Is this just expected, or something I've missed? GTA VI Timeline of Events Tuesday, October 18th/25th 2022
Niko B3llic
I'm curious to see a difference if any. I have a regular ps4 and a Xbox one X. I got the Xbox for my 4k system cause my friends are all on Xbox plus I like having a 4k blu ray drive. But it'll be interesting to see. I'm hoping it runs and looks great on it. Considering they're using 1920x2160 on PS4 Pro, then GPU wise the difference required to go full 4k just so happens to be roughly the same difference from PS4 Pro to Xbox One X. 16x AF is a given on X titles as they designed the system that way to force it if the flag is missing and the console basically gives it for free. For pro, what evidence makes you think the AF will not be x16? I'm not too familiar with what other open world games AF is on pro. Pink Pineapple
Make sure you sit close enough to your TV to see the higher resolution. jhjij
