You missed the point I'm afraid. My point is that people often use 'go play sims' as an insult to a passive player here, that's what I find daft. The games have some similar aspects, but this game offers far more diversity in how we play than the sims, naturally. It's a jack of all trades after all. And by assuming because I enjoy a role playing aspect here as much as many others, saying I should go play sims doesn't fit. Can't.

 

Too much to list, but can we heist, run missions, shoot cops/NPC's How we want on the sims? Clearly not. I kill regularly, boost cars, rob shops, and allsorts even though I am a passive player, and like to look good doing it, lol. Just a bit of simple fun. (And to create cool snaps).

 

The Sims IS a full on life sim game. This is, at best, a crime sim. But only in areas dude. This game does have an abundance of PvE too don't forget. So killing players or chasing them isn't all I have to do and yet I'm still not actually passive.

 

Clearly there's no comparison. It's meant as an insult, and you used it more than enough bub!

You read it as insulting? In this case, the suggestion was made as a suggestion. Someone is fed up of hostile players and wants to play a more passive life simulation game, the sims is the obvious answer. That is, if the player is unaware of invite only sessions and locked down publics.

Me, I play GTA. Bit of what you said, and a whole lot more. As I said, there's areas that are similar, but only an idiot sees just that in this game. I want to enjoy it all, or all I can at least as some areas have been poorly created. Simple as that.

I'm not offended dude, I'm straight up laughing. I don't need a life sim as I want GTA, lol. Many ways to play, and I do, it's that simple.

I've not said how to play or not play any game. I questioned your post about just why does reference to the sims show someone up. A question that has not been answered either. Personally I love finding out somebody has explosive rounds in the heavy sniper if im on the ground, it basically means you have limited ammo and 2 shots to kill.

I mean, you can't exactly complain about me using Explosive Rounds on my Heavu Sniper if you're in a jet that has Explosive Cannons with way higher rate of fire and splash damage. It's basically the kettle calling the pot black.

 

For the record, I do carry Explosive Rounds but I use it mostly against aircraft in either PvE (it really helps against the helicopters on the "Merryweather pissing in your soup" Bunker sell mission) and PvP (jets are still broken and annoying in a world of explosive bullets and unavoidable missiles).

Remember when they nerfed the rhino instead of giving us something more overpowered to kill it. Well besides people sniping you from the side of the tank since the side wasn't solid. Had the Hydra and Lazer cannons been nerfed somehow like even removing the high splash damage range would have helped. Or making them go full speed at any height like when there above 1000feet. Or made the distance of the cannons like half. So dive bombers would have barely any time to pull up. Instead of adding that dumb homing launcher which was useless for those jets from the spin in the air bs, and they one shotted any helicopter instead. Than later they added the explosive sniper which is good for the hydra and lazer, fight fire with fire, but is super overpowered against any other aircraft, like poor helicopters were not already easy to take out. Than when was first added could one shot any player.

Hit the nail on the head. It’s a game, k/d doesn’t matter. What matters is having fun while playing. To me sometimes that means playing competitively against others, and sometimes I just want to relax with my friends. But I will probably never understand what’s fun about being a k/d warrior, blowing yourself up etc, all to preserve your k/d. Quite the contrary; it seems rather pointless to me. And when they do get killed it makes them rage more than I ever would care to. I just think it’s rather childish tbh.

 

Luckily, me and my friends are quite good at spotting them. If they go passive in ”our” session (meaning; where we’re in majority) they get kicked straight away. If they try and come after our product, we kick or punish them, I don’t care if it’s 10 vs. 1.

 

And I don’t bother with trashtalking, whatever they might say my standard answer is just ”lol ok”.

If they were never going to nerf the jet (which they should have done 4 years ago), then it needed an actual effective counter for folks on the ground. The explosive sniper is it.  Complaining about the explosive sniper in particular is absurd - the whole game is a house of cards teetering on the brink of collapse.  If you're gonna remove that one weapon, you also need to nerf the jets and like half a dozen other aircraft, and that's just for starters.

 

I think it's a pretty terrible and obnoxious weapon, to tell the truth.  But it's also a good survival tool because half the game is now terrible and obnoxious.

Yes the jets need a counter, but not a counter thats bloody OP against everything else. The chernobog for example is a great jet counter (its just a bit underarmored and the aiming angle is rather sh*te), without being OP against ground vehicles. 

The only really OP aircrafts are the Lazer and the Hydra and the Avenger (and maybe the Hunters Explo canon). Except those 3 everything can be rather easily countered with other aircrafts and other avilable weaponry.

There never was a need for a hitscan explosive weapon, thats basicly just, point, click and win.

Again, I think this is a weird hill to die on.  The explosive sniper is OP as hell, of course.  But if you're attacking someone in a jet - STILL the most OP single weapon in the game, useful in more situations by far than any sniper rifle - and they shoot you down with something else that you consider OP, how are you gonna complain about that?  Case in point, I got on this morning and immediately got attacked in the middle of nowhere by an off-radar jet.  He blew up my car so I had no transportation and wasn't in a spot where I could spawn anything else.  Then he started circling in the usual attempt to farm kills.  I popped him twice and that was that.  Now to his credit, he didn't message me and whine about it - but if he had, what was he going to say?  That I shouldn't have used my OP weapon to counter his?  Should I have jogged the eighth of a mile back to a road to spawn a Chernobog, which he would probably strafe as soon as he saw it?  No, I used the right tool for the job, and it worked.  And he still got two cheap kills on me, because the jet is still ridiculous.

 

If we are going to complain about anything, it shouldn't be the explosive sniper - it should be Rockstar's refusal to nerf the jet and their general insistence on trying to balance through power creep, rather than actually balancing the weapons they already had in the game.  It was a bad approach to a real problem and it should be no surprise that really all they did was replace the old issues with lots and lots of new ones.

The single most OP weapon in this game is the flak canon on the Anti-Air Trailer, since it f*cks up an insurgent in about 3 shots.

After that comes the explo sniper and then in third the jets.

 

What I am complaining about is that the explo sniper is also bloody OP against everything  that is NOT a Jet.

Every regular car goes boom in a single shot, it has zoom so you can blow up far targets, it has the option to shoot through walls with thermal vision and its insane against human targets because the time between shots is shorter than the time your target needs to get up after getting hit the first time.

 

Trying to balance something OP with something even more OP is a sure way to f*ck up the game.
