Damn, hope it's not multi disk... I tried several times inserting 2 disks at the same time in my One X's drive and it never works.. now I have a broken disk stuck in my One X's drive so I had to buy another One X... thank God consoles are dirt cheap.

You aren't supposed to put them in at the same time? You're supposed to insert one after the other one has finished installing... 😕

Happens to me too...you have to make sure the front of the cds are facing each other when you put them in the drive.  Also make sure your console is upside down...works for me.

You're not serious, right?

File size doesn't have to have anything to do with the amount of content.

Audio compression alone can be the difference between a game being 50gb and 100gb pretty much.

First sentence might be the falsest thing I've read in here.

Second is accurate, though.

Not trying to start a whole thing here, but you're saying file size doesn't have anything to do with ammount of content.

This is false.

The more content there is, the more data there is in the file/folder, the bigger it is.

Of course, as you say, bad compression or other shortcuts taken by lazy developpers can heavily influence the size.

But saying it has nothing to do with content, isn't really accurate.

If it was, you'd see 2d indie games weighing 2TB and big AAA Open world weighing 100MB.

m8 can u read

I said it doesn't HAVE to have anything to do with filesize. Which it doesn't, because different levels of audio compression alone can swell it up to massive levels.

Ah, true. My bad.

I can read, yes, even enough for my brain (like anyone else's) to correct what look like typing mistakes.

I'd imagine alot of that space is bc of some of the mechanics that don't just throw away textures immediately in the game. For instance, bodies rotting instead of vanishing typical video game style.

There's probably a year's worth of recorded dialogue making the filesize so big

That used space it's not a problem if is well used.

So it seems Black Ops 4 requires 100GB minimum free space as seen on the back of the cover (for PS4)...the game stands at 42GB on Xbox.

I hope that this is kinda clearing things up about the 105GB install for Red Dead...it's probably not gonna be that big!

So for xbox it could be significantly smaller?

It could be on both, it may reach 100GB with all the DLC that gets released for PlayStation first...which I believe is four DLC’s first?

I'm picking up an external hard drive this weekend. 6TB is overkill, but f*ck it...

can someone explain to me how it's possible that COD has as many GBs as RDR II though Read dead is 100x more complex and bigger? How does it work? It makes no sense.

CoD has a lot of 3D assets, because each multiplayer map looks different. RDR2 has reused assets everywhere.

Rockstar have recorded a 1000 voice acters to do all the different dialog used by the npc's with there new interactive system. With all the different ways they can respond to you, depending on your looks, your hygiene, if they know you, and what mood there in. On top of some audio recorded twice, for normal tones and yelling, that may well be some of that 105 gb right there.

Not to say that most of space is going to sound, but I don't know of another game with this level of npc interaction threw dialog. With all this there are children in the game, and you can talk to them, and antagonize them, however you can't do any thing to them, as one preview said he tried to lasso a red head boy after antagonizing him tell he began to run. The lasso would not work, so you can talk to them all as well, you just cant take it any further then that. If there flagged child its hands off.

Even the animals have young, I'm not sure if every species does, I myself doubt  that they do, but I have seen young buffalo, and one reviewer, said that alligator eggs where a gold mine at over $2.00 a peace. He also talked about how baby alligators were easier to kill, but languished around the parents. So with this world Rockstar has made, and the devilish details they have put into it, add in npc dialog, and world audio to go with it. And I can see why that 105 gb is the minimum.

https://www.redbull.com/au-en/how-trying-to-fish-took-me-all-over-the-world-of-red-dead-redemption-2 talks about alligator, random things, and swimming.

Looks like Spider-Man's getting deleted sooner than I thought

(Great game, a little overrated though.)

Honestly...don't start uninstalling games yet, the file size for CoD BO4 was apparently 100GB "minimum" judging by a picture of the back of the cover. Now it's been confirmed to be 42GB on both Xbox & PS4!

This whole 105GB download for RDR2 possibly won't be the full install, but rather overtime when DLC's get released.

The exclusive content...or special/ultimate edition content, either way it's pretty hard to judge at the moment until they officially confirm the file size!

Gotcha. I thought you meant an Undead type DLC. Surely they won’t be that big though (I have no idea about these sort of things)?

Sounds sensible. I’ll do the same. I can’t be arsed faffing about deciding what to delete on the day - all because I need an extra 1 or 2 gig.

All depends really...Halo five on Xbox is like 100GB lol, not sure how big it was at launch though.

Same w/ GTA V...i think that's a hefty file size now!

I either have to uninstall +100 gb games or buy an external hard drive for those who own consoles that are 500 gb.

I'll delete Happy Dungeons in June when the servers go off. Game was a piece of trash anyway.

I just bought a 1TB external HD. I am ready now (although, I still don't think that the game will be that big).
