mark.gunt22
One of the most anticipated games that happen to be open world that take place in wilderness. Of course there are huge differences, but what do you think would be the better game overall and why?
Mexicola9302
You just can't compare a Sci-Fi game with a Wild-West game. It's like comparing Fallout with Far Cry it just doesn't work. Just because it's open world you can't compare it. I would say RDR2 is better because the devolopment took longer, and the production was probably much more expensive, and im just guessing here, maybe the game is less frustrating. But sure Death Stranding looks interesting too, if i had a Playstation i would probably play both. YourBelovedLatin

Edward Nashton
I still don't really know wtf Death Stranding is about or how it will play. So, it's pointless to try to compare the two. The thread where Cyberpunk 2077 and RDR 2 are compared makes a bit more sense because we already know a lot about Cyberpunk - and those two games couldn't be any more different from one another. With that said, RDR 2 is part of an established franchise, so we more or less know what we're going to get. Death Stranding is still a mystery, it kinda came out of the ashes of what was going to be Silent Hills, and this will be Hideo Kojima's first game since he left Konami. So, I'm more interested in Death Stranding than RDR 2, but I can't really comment on which one will be better.
Algonquin Assassin
This is weirder than the Red Dead Redemption II vs Cyberpunk 2077 thread. Death Stranding looks interesting and I'll most definitely pick it up as the PS4's exclusives library is impressive, but like Cyberpunk 2077 it'll be released long after Red Dead Redemption II so the comparison is pretty whack.. I'm in no position to say what's going to be "better", but I'm most certainly looking more forward to Red Dead Redemption II seeing that it releases in less than a month. Mister Pink
With the information we have, RDR2. I'm not a huge fan of Kojima (I know, it's a crime). I don't quite understand the cult of Kojima. He's a bit like David Lynch for me, and not that I don't enjoy semiotics, subtext and metaphor like in a good film like Taxi Driver but that story coherence and characters in his films seem to detrimentally take a back seat in favour of all this nonsense. Now, I haven't played much Kojima games, admittedly but I'm constantly reminded of his "genius." It's hard not to read about him and have had friends that were huge fans. I'll usually try blame myself first if I'm not getting something or someone that is so revered, particularly among people I really respect, but one day I just admitted to myself that I don't have to try like Kojima. Maybe his work just isn't to my taste like say, Cyberpunk, Deus Ex or Fallout is. However, I'm still open-minded. Death Stranding could be the game that changes my mind and my mind is always ready to be changed. There were a bunch of other games and even genres that clicked with me over time. Cosmic Gypsy
I personally don't think Death Stranding is going to live up to it's own hype. Plus carrying babies in space suits over rough terrain or something doesn't sound as fun as a wild western. I'm taking the piss, Death Stranding might end up being epic but Red Dead is more up my street. Tchuck and Mister Pink

As far as i know, when DS first trailer/teaser rolled out, devs didn't even had a proper engine for a game. Plus i can't really understand japanese devs' humor and character styles in their games. sivispacem
I don't think we need a threat for "X game or RDR".
