I spend most of my time in freemode so I'm pretty much just always keeping an eye on the map to see if anyone is acting suspicious. If I get a bad feel in the beginning I just switch sessions. Works 60% of the time all the time. :p

If I lose cargo I just switch lobbies. I don't go on a vendetta. Time is too precious to be spending on killing. There's crates that need to be collected!

I make sure I never run into them, so I don't have to waste my time on them. Better yet, I make sure I never have to keep an eye out on any of them by playing in solo sessions. Griefers, tryhards, cheaters, they can do whatever the hell they want, but I'm gonna be far far away from them. They've ruined the game for me once and they'll never get the chance to ruin it again. f*ck them all 😛

Rules for Dealing with People Who Muck with Your Game
Remember, this is your game you're playing, not theirs and you are not the source of someone else's entertainment.

1. Don't fight back, as fighting back only incites them to hyper-focus on you.
2. Use Passive Mode and Yacht Defenses to evade them.
3. Do a Job, Mission, Survival, or Heist.
4. Visit another player's nightclub, apartment, etc.
5. Get to a TV (in an apt, bunker, facility, etc) and watch the griefer on it. If they're on foot or crash, send a Mugger or mercs, sit back and watch! FUN!
6. Go into Passive Mode and follow them everywhere they go. Call the cops, fire, ambulance and just interfere with their shenanigans.
7. Use your iFruit phone and call them over and over. It's annoying as heck! If they answer, hang up. Then call again, over and over.
8. Use the Find New Session option and just leave because, again, it's your game you're playing, not theirs.

9. Turn off the console/PC and read a book or something.
10. Report them (it's a viable option, but I don't recommend it because nothing will happen)

It depends. If I’m in the right mood, I fight them. Using all kinds of dirty methods, preferably going Ghost or use the Akula to sh*t bombs on top of their ugly, bullet proof helmets. Chasing them with the Oppressor speed glitch and zooming away from them to the far side of the map, calling muggers and mercenaries on them, warp to facility to sh*t orbital strikes on them, etc etc.

Or if I’m not in that mood, I just try and avoid them to rob them of their precious kills. Staying in passive or mod my cars, there’s always something to do that doesn’t require being a target of any kind..

Tonight was that kind of night, and of course every session I’ve entered have had a couple of these morons in it. So then I use another tactic which is to just vote to kick them. Which is honestly my favorite tactic and I often wish my own vote would be enough to kick them out. 😤

But here’s the thing, and I still can’t properly wrap my head around this:

When I’m messaging all the players in session (except the griefers/tryhards themselves, obviously) saying ”Vote to kick rank 8000, he’s a griefer/he ruins everything for the rest of us”, it’s not very often that that person gets kicked anyway.

So, are most players stupid and they don’t understand what I’m saying? Or maybe they don’t understand english? Even though it’s clear as daylight and can’t be misinterpreted in any way. It’s fine if they don’t speak english, but it’s still a pretty f*cking simple message.

Or is it that they don’t know how to put a kick on somebody?

Or is it that they want to have these idiots roaming around? I hardly think that’s the case since most of these people get repeatedly killed by the griefers. And still, they don’t just put a kick on them.

I don’t understand this, so if anyone does, please enlighten me. If everyone immediately put a kick on anyone who’s flying around blowing people up while  wearing all-black and BP helmets, imagine how beautiful this game could be!!

I get it that people might not take the initiative to kick someone. But if you’re messaged, being asked to kick someone, it’d be strange to turn down the request, especially if you yourself are being, or have been, attacked by them. You’ve nothing to lose doing so, but everything to gain.

Sorry for the rant. I just came from a session with two dudes in it who ruined it completely and all of the above happened. They never got kicked even after like 1 hr of having been kickvoted in the first place.

Passive mode. Otherwise I jump in my Oppressor 2 and make them rage quit.

the reason i attack the griefer or tryhard after they attacked me (if im not too busy grinding or they didn't destroy or steal my cargo (which was a bad idea from r* to add that)).

is because i can be stubborn.🤣

1)Place a bounty on them, 2)go ghost, 3)orbital cannon. if you are feeling extra annoyed by the guy, add them, add a crew member, follow them around for a few days and repeat 1-3 until you get bored.

Deal with them?

whomst the f*ck even

Them god forsaken excuses of people don't worth my time, attention, energy or fragment of thought.

At MOST I'll go out of my way and insult them in some crispy manner to make them doubt the validity of their mother existing in this world in the fist place before just leaving whatever place I was in when they decided to make me aware of them.

And I'll feel shame afterwards too, for being so stupid for thinking the equivalent of a possum on a mix of ketamine, meth and week old bottled dog piss, will be able to draw ANY kind of conclusion from my attempted insult.

Just pretend they don't exist and move on.

Can't say fairer than that, lol. We all have our ways and different tastes of course and I didn't mean to seem like a jackass with my answer as a good ol' PvP session can be a very rewarding one. It should be too. Just a shame R* messed it all up and made freeroam PvP about as pathetic and cheap as possible.

Players should be able to get stuck into each other naturally. Just with how many glitches and cheats, sore losers, reports, or kicks. (Or time/money at risk). I'm not interested in something that warped or broken.

I can be strong minded here, but I'm a very passive player out there. The GTA/RDR games are all I play that have guns in them, lol. (Though Minecraft has swords I guess, lol). Very much a story mode player that learned to do that online. (But even as recently as the last DLC, I'm still being enabled too).

Hell, I can go days without shooting an NPC out there, lol. More-so now with the drones. I love team stuff and use game modes for my PvP, racing more than most but been sticking with the Adv. Modes as I want to get better at the PvP.

That said, even winning game modes only means something to me, at that moment, with how f*cked up this game is. Even when it all goes right, it goes wrong.

* Insert gif of a racer leading, then failing to make a jump on the stunt race 'In The City' *

It's literally impossible to play this game and avoid the biggest trolls. Rockstar themselves. ;)

If I can be bothered, I'll fight back a bit but won't sink too much effort into it. I have better things to do than to entertain a troll. Otherwise, warping to my Facility to irritate them with a strike force, or going to a solo lobby.

I like the yacht defense idea mentioned above. Never bought a yacht as I can't see the point in having one, but it's defences give it a plus...

Holy crap, 7. Is gold!!!! Never considered doing this! I'm gonna be the next cold caller to the griefer from now on!!! And I do 6. Using my RCV in passive. If they get out of their vehicle (usually Deluxo) you can push it down the street, or flip it on its roof. I totally incapacitated a griefer from his tool once doing that.

Ok, I guess this doesn't really count, for I haven't attended any public lobby for six months now, and before that dealing with scum was usually indeed turning away to other session, because I don't waste time on defending against someone who can respawn as often as he likes and pester me. I'm also too slow to anger to be vengeful. What's the point?

The only tryhard (sort of) I ever shot was one day dragged in by a crew friend into my friend session. This guy was to assist us in some CEO action, and on the long run, heists, so I agreed to take him through some of my mission runs etc.; but he had gotten it into his head (that overheated snail shell) to "train for serious PvP", for that's what the game is about right? Yeah, sure, so he wanted to train PvP on me, whether I liked it or not. I said in fact clearly that I'm not interested in PvP, it's just not my game, and so I won't be a challenge for him either. What kind of challenge is someone who doesn't want to fight? Never understood that.

He wouldn't care. Always tried to provoke me into PvP, shooting at my cars, "accidentally" shooting at me, etc. Doesn't work with me, like I said, I'm extremely slow to anger, and my Ego doesn't need this one-up bupkes either. However, what he was also practicing was his "skills" in fast triggering EWO, and so he would always run up close to me, or point his Bullprup at me (now, THATS an odd sounding sentence…) as if to get easy fast kill, and then immediately EWO.

So this became a regular dance of his during the week, whenever I tried to humor being alone with him in a session; jumping around me like a drunken fairy, throwing test punches at me, or pointing guns at me, and as soon as my char turned towards him, up goes the pistol and he drops. And sometimes then again, and again, and again. One day he would EWO five times in sequence. You know how pathetic the animation looks when a player EWOs

This sight, in its stupid regularity eventually got me angry enough to one day just quick draw the marksman pistol (had prepared that, I admit) and shoot him into his stupid head before he could EWO (he tried so hard, but he was also quite bad at it, while I hate PvP, but I'm actually quite capable); typed "1:0, sh*tbird" and logged off. Had him un-friended/un-crewed/blocked a minute later.

I'm most angry at him that he got me angry enough to shoot him.

TL;DR: Moral? Don't know … kill them early before they grow and reproduce, I guess

I don’t.  Freemode is toxic.  I only join public sessions IF I’m in the mood to engage in battle and even then, if there’s someone EWOing after every little bullet they take or they’re spamming rockets, going passive, constantly in jets or heavily armed vehicles...I just move on.

Rockstar also seem to have a real “meh” attitude when it comes fixing teleport and OTR / God Mode glitches as well.  The moment I see a player using those tactics I just leave the session.  Not worth your time.

GTA can still be fun, if you’re in the right lobby.  I enjoy the thrill of working with friends (or even randos) to deliver goods or complete VIP / MC/ Terrabyte work.  But there’s no reason to feed a troll.  It’s not worth your time.  This game is / has died.  Play it the way that makes you happy, don’t expend effort on K/D manipulating tryhards.

Find new session as usual tactic.

If they are in group, I follow them in party bus or somehow in passive mode.

Salty ones I like to enter my facility, and than go out. Bcs they "fear" that I will oblirate them, they stay in terrorbyte or appartment :D I know once a griefer stayed there for 30 minutes :D:D:D Bcs when I came back, he was still in his terrorbyte.

For me, pvp in GTAO is meaningless, unless its about Business Battle goods. Than I accept it... Also, there is times where I just want to fight against someone, buuuut... mk2 for khanjali griefers, nightshark with plates on foot griefers, nightshark without plates against mk2 griefers or MOC, since I can use sticky bombs in them... Ofc, against mk2 I will probably change session bcs fight against them is "endless"... Bcs they can call it quickly and again...

I just fight them. I don't give a toss about my k/d, so I'm happy to die over and over to f*ck about with theirs. They hate it. I do what they do, spam ghost, BST, OTR, muggers, mercenaries. OP2s to take down theirs and their Deluxos, thermal vision, through-building shots.

No wonder I'm always skint ha ha

If you don't feel like fighting, the best response is to deny them a kill.Evasion, stealth, passive. When they call you names, you're winning. You can even f*** with them in ways that will really make them mad; lead a swarm of police to them, camp the aircraft spawns and destroy their Hydra when they go for a fresh one, etc. But denying them the kill is key.

I do this sometimes. If I see them tearing up the lobby when I land in it, I go and get a cheap kill on every member of their crew in Ghost, then make my way back to my apartment in Vinewood. Funny watching them camp outside and shoot rockets at the house whilst firing off the insults. The idiots.
