Sourced vehicles randomly exploding now??

For this past week, my sourced vehicles have been exploding for no reason. I'd say 7 or so, in about a week. Thats way too much. Been happening with selling them too. Is it just me? Is this intentional? I feel like theres a conspiracy to make GTA so bad that itll make RDR look so good

I believe there's some attempt at detecting the player disconnecting their internet to avoid other players. When I've been in a lobby with only one other player and they've lost connection (albeit months ago), I've had I/E cars burst into flames as the game seems to think you deserve a 'penalty' for suddenly being alone in the lobby.

this have been going for a while, on my experience, it normally happens when sourcing the vehicle in a solo-public session.

 

in the worst of the cases, the car will catch fire just a few blocks from your warehouse

R*'s "Anti-Cheat" system at work.

Basically there was a point where you could Source a vehicle then "split" the Lobby and your friend could come along and get the now empty vehicle and so on and so on and R* did not like that. But the Anti-Cheat classes anyone suddenly leaving as cheating so if someone gets hit by an "Unknown Network Error" through no fault of their own while you are Sourcing the vehicle will explode.

They sure have no problem with you losing money when the game bugs out exporting a car and you've lost 20k on modding fees and no 80k profit.

That said, FWIW, there have been a couple times where something nearby me has suddenly blown up (the setting in question being the gas station across from Little Seoul), and I instantly thought "script kiddies at work...what else is new."

 

However(!) it turned out to be caused by an NPC car trying to drive away from the gas station, who kept ramming a gas pump, eventually blowing it (and everything in explosive range) up. lol

 

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't taken the time to pause my custom Sentinel spawn-stealing to look carefully at what was going on. I can post a video of it if anyone is curious.

I've had this happen during a drive to my warehouse, but a van instantly exploded on the street, just by myself in a lobby.

 

Re-watching it,  if it wasn't for me slowing down slightly to avoid a car, I probably would have got caught in the explosion.

thats been in the game for a while (i've had it happen to me if the game lags out and your suddenly in a empty lobby and im on xbox one).
