[A how to] identify your gta-sa.exe version and update to 1.01 correctly

Hi, i know that some needs to install 1.01 update but don't know how to identifies the exe version. well, here are some checksums to identifier most used versions of the executable

 

take a look to 1.0 eu original file checksum, if your sha256 checksum is 8C609F108AD737DEFFBD0D17C702F5974D290C4379DE742277B809F80350DA1C then you need to install this file in order to update your game:

EUROPEAN/AUSTRALIAN UPDATE: http://updates.rockstargames.com/patches/sanandreas/SA_Euro_1.01_COLD.zip

 

Else you will need this update to US version:

Anyway if no one works for you (installer checks the file by itself), the last update is here: German Version

You can use 7-zip to check it or even better you will use a checksum tool like following:

(hashtab adds a tab to files property where you can find hashes)

 

or use a hash calculator online like this:

or use Windows Powershell with the follow command

 

Get-FileHash -Path c:\gta\gta-sa.exe -Algorithm SHA256

 

or use command line with following command:

 

certutil -hashfile gta-sa.exe SHA256
