GTA VI "Teen rating"

DO you see Rockstar toning down GTA VI to increase their audience?

Regardless of whatever ends up being in GTA VI; do you see Rockstar toning down their violence or keep expanding on it?

GTAVII Rated E for everyone!

But in all honesty, kids will sneak in their way into these kinds of games if they wanted to badly.

What, are you trying to suggest R* of all people go SJW?

f*ck no.

R* don't need to tone down violence/sexual content to increase their audience. Kids always find a way to play a new GTA anyway.

>implying parents aren't gonna buy it for their kids because the kids are gonna be like WAH WAH ALL MY FRIENDS ARE PLAYING IT

Seriously though, I'm sure 90% of this forum played GTA when they were kids. How did you talk your parents into buying it, or how did you as a minor buy it yourself? Now take those methods and fast forward them to the present. Congratulations, that's how people in the teen demographic are gonna be able to play a game rated for the mature demographic.

Yeah, before they found their identity. Them going back to it would scream SJW.

Considering they were the best seller for like what? A year or two? three, maybe? (Idk, feels like that) I don't think they'll be worried about their damn ESRB rating. Like, the ESRB is ass anyways.

Lol no. GTA does need an increase in fans, its already ridiculously popular and kids have been playing it since the franchise started anyway.

It doesnt matter the rating the game recieve, kids Will play it anyway

Seems that way.

I recall a poll 2016 asking the age of gamers on this forum.

So many 11-17 year olds playing a game rated R 18+

you must be new. They do the same sh*t they have been doing then except in 3D. same humour, same mission style, etc. Hell, you could electrocute people to death in GTA 2.

Just because a game gets a T rating doesnt mean that its some kind of "SJW" conspiracy. hell, this whole SJW bullsh*t is overused and overmemed anyway.

I'm not ruling it out. Not sure if it affects the sales though.

My brother played GTA SA when he was 4. He turned out to be OK.

I'd highly doubt it, even if many GTA fans started out as teens or young kids. It would straight up just limit what kind of story Rockstar can tell, and it would outright have to eliminate many staples of the GTA series for the sake of a lower rating.

Not anytime soon. GTA has garnered a lot of widespread controversy by the media. With the mainstream status and reputation the game has, I doubt a T rating would increase the audience.

Karl Marx once said "There is not a crime at which a capitalist will scruple, nor a risk he will not run, even to the chance of being hanged to receive 300% profit."

If it brings R* more money they will do it. Just look at what GTA On-line has become. How can one even call it a GTA is beyond my understanding.

I don't know how GTA 2 for the US market achieved the Teen rating, because there is a mission late in the game that involves converting humans into hot dog meat and distributing it to its employees.

A fun mission but very disturbing when you look at it very carefully.

Lock n' Stock

Mortal Kombat tried that, and look how well that went over with fans.

I think Rockstar, a company who have monitored their audience, can easily realize that in order to increase their audience it is not by the way of lowering the age rating, but instead to rather stay or increase it. They have proved it themselves

Even Rated for Mature doesn't really bring in mature audience. Just 20+ years old Teens. No point to go down to Teen rating when it's already a magnet to that.

f*ck no! That would be a big mistake. They don't have to worry about their sales anyway since they're so universally acclaimed by gamers throughout the whole world.

Uhhh no.  There is no way GTA could be truly as successful, as it has in the past, with a "Teen" rating.

We're not allowed to call the game that anymore, from this moment forward, that which is formerly known as Grand Theft Auto is now:

Pretty Pony Adventure

Experience a wide sun-soaked metropolis full of opportunities to get chased by rainbows, pet unicorns and fly dragons. Visit your local Game-u-nation to pick up some super soakers and take the battle to your friends outside.

Now with Battle Royale mode included in the new "Bunnies, Rabbits and Fast Planes" update.

Rockstar don't need to widen their audience, most especially not with a Teen rating. The fact GTA V, rated M and 18 (UK) sold 100 million copies and raked in over $6 billion in worldwide revenue proves it's fine as it is. Besides, kids will get hold of these games regardless of rating. I played GTA since I was about five (can't remember when exactly), thanks to a family member buying it themselves and letting me play it. Eventually my parents probably decided it was too late and that I'd seen too much, and as such got me any GTA game I wanted. Didn't need a toned down rating for me, and I'm sure they didn't for a good amount of people on these forums.
