I will be asking for Friday off (October 26th) sometime this week or next.

I have PLENTY of days to use at work and I'll definitely be taking advantage of those!

I'll be at my local Gamestop's midnight release of Red Dead Redemption 2 (with my Nikon DSLR) to pickup my (completely paid for) pre-order!

I sure will have a stash of snacks and soda to accompany me throughout the night of fun playing Red Dead 2 on Xbox One. (non X unforunately)

10 minutes before release I will sit down with a nice beverage to sip, and a light snack to munch on. I will start grinding up some weed, make sure the bong is cleaned, and pack a fat rip of some dank. When the RDR2 launch countdown reaches 60 seconds, I'm smoking that fat rip and launching the game at exactly midnight. Every 45 minutes exactly, I will smoke another hit. Shortly before the sun comes up, I'm shutting down and going to bed.

Wow I was gonna do this but with blunts.

Today is the day me and my colleagues try to work out the next month, and I hope to god the third one doesn't plan on doing anything around the 26th.. :D My other colleague is my girlfriend, so she's already aware of my plans. If everything works out as I planned, I'm gonna work on the 25th, and then I'll be off until the next tuesday at least :)

I'd really like to go to a midnight event and get an actual physical copy, but there's literally no hype at all for this game around here, so I doubt there would be anything like that, so I'm probably gonna count down the minutes shaking in front of the screen around midnight/1 am :D I might pick up some better drink for the big night, or even get something else, even though I haven't smoked in like a year, we'll see :)

I'm on a diet. That week I will do my cheat day on October 26 or 27 when I play RDR2 all day long.

Also, it looks like we're the same about that! I've been on a diet since May, but I managed to make good progress in the last couple of months, so by the time the game comes out I probably don't have to worry about it, but just in case I'm gonna work out harder in the following weeks, just to be sure..  either way, I won't give a f*ck that day :D I'm gonna eat and drink whatever I want, hell, I'm not gonna sleep a minute that night, I need fuel

Good luck with your diet, m8, don't give up!

Question for those who pre-ordered over Gamestop, do I have to go at midnight or I can pick up my copy next day?

I'm off from Friday 26th-Tuesday 30th.

I'll be going to the launch on Thursday night at 9pm with a buddy.  I plan to play for a couple hours that night, probably with the aid of coffee.  I'll get my son on the bus on Friday then spend most of the day and the weekend playing.  I can't wait.

Dude I'm German, the discipline is strong in me. Lol just kidding. Been on diet since April and lost 32 kilograms (71 pounds). I consume 1000 kcal per day and do 1 cheat day per week. I'm probably gonna fast on Tuesday and on the Thursday before RDR2, so I can consume 2000 kcal more on RDR2 Day without feeling bad. Might even be done with diet by RDR2 Day because my belly finally might be flat then.

Diet life is a miserable life. But with a good reason it works.

Good luck to you too. 👍

Wow, man, that's great progress there, congrats!

I'm pretty much doing the same as you do, I've lost 20kg so far, and I'm also planning on doing more workout and paying extra attention in the next few weeks, so I won't feel guilty about the 26th.. and probably the days after, I don't think I'm gonna leave the room too much to be honest :D
Diet life is harsh indeed, but it's for the greater good, I decided I don't want to begin my 30s the way I am now (or rather how I used to be, thank god), I might even stop smoking etc, but the release weekend's gonna be a guilty one for sure, in every aspect :D

I hope everything works out for you and you can enjoy the game's launch however you want and have a great weekend!

Also, sorry for the diet/lifestyle posting folks :)

Refresh my track order page on Amazon like crazy. Get all my snacks and drinks ready.

Maybe wax poetic about the game to my friends before I immerse myself and become a social recluse.

 October 25th:

  • Go to sleep around 5 or 6am
  • Wake up once or twice before Noon - stay awake after trying to get back to sleep
  • Do f*ck-all until about 30-45 mins until whenever they tell me to show up when I preorder on the 1st
  • Drive 2 miles (5 mins) to my local GameStop and get in line
  • Hopefully not be there longer than 30 mins after they begin handing out copies
  • Get home and begin the game install
  • Wait impatiently
  • Play game until like 8am or beyond on the morning of the 26th or until I pass out

 October 26th and beyond:

  • Wake up between Noon and 3pm
  • Play game except to eat, sleep, use bathroom/shower, run errands

I'm unemployed and single so I'll be balls-deep in RDR2 for awhile I imagine

I'm staying up all night, the night before, having a Western movie marathon. I'll stay up as long as I can that day, and crash around 2 or 3pm. Then I'll wake up an hour or so before the midnight release with a full night's sleep behind me and ready to rock! I'll pick up the game and order a couple pizzas and load a bowl while it installs. I'll have plenty of beef jerky, funyuns, and frosty beverages ready to roll and hoping to upgrade to a PS4 Pro and a 65" 4k HDR TV before it all goes down...  God I can't f*cking wait to immerse myself in this world. I was very worried about being over-hyped, like no game could live up to what they say it's going to be like. But then I see all the recent interviews with the guys that got the hands on demo, and I get the distinct impression that we are grossly underestimating the scope of this experience. I think this game may actually exceed the hype. There is sh*t in this world that R* created that we don't even know about yet. Like, all the stuff we know is beyond amazing and still just the tip of the iceberg. Everything we have yet to discover for ourselves will be god damn mind blowing.

i could never play a game on midnight release as usually too tired to enjoy, especially now as i find most games have an intro hour of gameplay before the reigns are taken off

picking up at midnight release is purely to install and download any updates

when i went to midnight launches usually ended up very drunk trying to keep warm whilst waiting, although do not drink anymore i think the most authentic alcohol free drink i can get in is Budweiser prohibition beer 30 years out but close enough

Gonna pick the game up from GameStop on launch day, go home, install, probably be interrupted by my kids five times, and play.

I don't really plan to do anything specific but I haven't been this excited for a game in a long, long time so I've booked the 25th Oct - 3rd Nov off work and will spend the entire time neglecting all adult responsibilities.
Booked the 25th on the chance the game arrives early in the post (happens frequently with where I order from) and if not, I guess I'll spend the day binge watching Westerns. Probably starting with the Dollar trilogy.

I have more of an insight as to how my experience will go.. this game launches on my GF's bday... lol... that sort of sucks...but she's awesome.. so I think it'll work out ok.

She has Thursday off.. and I can do whatever I want... so we are going to party/stay up late on Weds night and sleep in somewhat late Thursday... She works early Friday morning ( on her Bday ) so she will head off to bed relatively early.. and as I said before... I can do whatever I want ;);) So I will launch my preloaded Digital game at precisely midnight, downloading any d1 patches etc needed and play until I pass out due to exhaustion, whiskey ( type and brand is yet to be determined ) or any combination of the 2... Ideally I won't make it past 9ish AM, so I can get some sleep before she gets home from work, around 3:45pm..

Then I have to do bday stuff... She said that she will just bring home some take out from the Chinese joint, so I can stay home and play the damn game... lol because she's that awesome.. but that isn't happening.. we will do our thang.. go out and have a good night...

Luckily, she works that Saturday too.. so I can play all night again. 🤣

It should be a good launch..

I'm sort of leaning towards Bourbon... maybe Irish whiskey? Was Scotch prevalent in this time period??

I plan to get pizza, a thickshake. Come home and while the game is installing, eat said pizza, drink said milkshake and watch Django while doing so.

Then play the game after install.

Same as any big game launch.

Take out food, a pile of snacks, a couple of cigars, a bottle of bourbon, GTA forums open on the laptop and 999 ready to hit call on my phone just in case my left arm gets painful.

I won't sleep all night on Oct 25-26

When it comes out, it'll be Friday and I'll be in school (which takes me 1 hour to get to using a bus)... I'll run out of school to the bus and from the bus to my house just to watch and see some features... not too many so I don't ruin the game for me, since I'll get it mid-November.

The day I get it, I'll turn on my TV (which is a 43-inch 4K Samsung Smart TV), my PS4 Pro, and I'll insert the disc fast, but safe to play the game asap. Hopefully it'll let me play it right away without downloading any patches like you have to in CoD WWII; I know that there's a 4K patch but I hope I'll be able to play while it's downloading in the background. :)
