My bad. I thought you were talking about the finale, because you were talking about cuts in the same post and then about them not letting you be pilot. I thought you meant the setup screen of the finale. Anyway, if it is the Plane setup, join pilot team and don't switch back. When everyone presses ready, the game will push him over to ground team because you are higher rank.

Oh, it's okay. :) I think it's actually my fault, because it looks like I wasn't making it clear enough that I'm talking about the plane setup. Sorry about that.

And thank you for the advice! :) I'll do that next time when I'll play that setup.

I was taking one last look through the current discounts on my second character this evening and decided to buy an arena workshop with the extra garages.  Seemed like a good deal at half a million dollars.  No complaints so far.

But my second character is female and it's hilarious how much she towers over that Bryony chick in that first cut scene when you first enter your new workshop.  I understand the idea about wanting the hit boxes to be equal, but it's just annoying that you cannot make a female character look more... petite.  WMBA players would be jealous of the chicks in this game.

Welp, yet another business/property that's a mandatory, permanent purchase if you want to access the bulk of the new content, regardless of whether you wanted a (checks notes) ...arcade/control centre/business hub. :turn:

I really do miss when this game felt genuinely liberating to play - no matter what your tastes, there was a bit of something for everyone. Now, there's iterations of the same thing over and over, lazer-targeted at a specific audience (presumably the audience with the deepest pockets...), while other aspects are left by the wayside, and other tastes have to be ignored if you don't want your experience to stagnate. Don't want to be an all-in-one CEO/biker/arms manufacturer/hired secret agent/aerial contraband smuggler/nightclub owner/casino investor/death race driver/Bond villain knock-off, all at the same time? Then GTAO isn't the game for you, buddy!

:sigh:

Here's to hoping Twitch Prime fronts the cost of it :) I do have $13MM saved and will probably have like $16-18MM by next week as I'm gonna grind like a mofo in anticipation of this update, so hopefully even if not I have enough to toss at the paywall

It's a lose/lose, there - either you buy it, and they nag you to keep it stocked up, or you don't buy it, and you get constant phonecalls every time you start a new session... :sui:

I suspect this is going to be another round of Gunrunning/Doomsday/etc. missions, where I just end up joining randos on-call, rather than saddling myself with a random property I neither want nor need. Heck, I didn't even bother with the Casino missions, just because they're all so darn formulaic these days - even with things like RDR2 single-player, it's just 'go here, listen to badly-written expository dialogue on the way, cutscene plays, shoot wave after wave of random dudes, go somewhere else, possibly with more exposition and/or shooting, maybe a final cutscene, lather, rinse, repeat'. :bored:

Ah, well - matters not, because I've already got much more exciting plans for next Thursday... :sly:

I really hope they hear this complaint over calls/texts and address it. There's just so many things out there now, it's often seen here with how unsure folk are and start new threads asking.

Just set it so the week of the DLC we get a daily call. Promote ot of vourse, but stop on the next weekly event.

That said, if ever you do have (plenty) cash to throw away into the pap you don't want, I have had silence since the nightclub arrived if that does ever appeal. (Can't imagine it would, lol).

It'll mean buying the lot, linking it all up, upgrades or storage too, and closing MC businesses while it has stock inside. That's literally the only way and it's absurd.

Probably cost 50 million or more, without luck of discounts and tbe yacht is on the list of 'need to buy for peace too, lol. Just to shut the nagging up it's far beyond a top tier shark card to do too, so it's really out of order on new players, let alone those that want more freedom to say no and get peace.

I'd get so much more from my 2nd character if they did as I have up after a few spells of trying to get on with it. I love on call too much to hear those.

Speaking of calls, Dom and Martin can go f*ck right off.  I would kill them both instantly given the chance.  For some reason, I've never gotten LJT calls on my phone other than the in-mission ones even though I only own a coke business and it was way late and only to do the nightclub.  The phone calls are f*cking awful, like reinforcing the daily annoying spam marketer calls--we already get that sh*t in real life, let me choose what bullsh*t robot to speak to in GTA-land, please.

It's also gone away from just "buy this" to "Do these missions"

Good example is Ms Baker, why the hell do we need phone calls reminding us about an optional mission?

On my Main Character Ms Baker always calls first then followed by English Dave (Because f*ck hiring the remaining two DJ's) and LJT if he's bored and got nothing better to do with himself

I wonder with the upcoming Casino heist whether the Chengs or whoever is behind the new story content will be constantly nagging us on our phones saying there's an opportunity to rob the casino. With all the governmental sh*t we've been exposed too in GTA shouldn't they be finding another way to contact us since the call could be logged or being listened too on?

Something needs to be done about the griefers in this game - particularly to those who focus exclusively on killing players who have no chance of fighting back or doing business missions.

The ONLY time I can actually get any business missions done AT ALL is in a solo public lobby - 99.99999999% of the time the moment I start up a mission of any sort, it'll attract in the griefers all too quickly - usually on oppressors.  To date I have encountered a grand total of 3 friendly oppressor players - compared to a few thousand ones that just attack people without warning, provocation or reason other than the person they're attacking is a low level player who's just trying to get enough funds to get past the half million mark...

Seriously - it's so bad that i would be faster making money by killing NPCs than I would be trying to do any mission stuff due to the sheer amount of griefers that show up every single damn time...

Heck - when I first started playing GTA Online a jet griefer came along and targeted me specifically for what must have been 20+ minutes.  I wound up sending him a message to knock himself out as I was going off to make myself a cuppa and to get the griefing outta his system.

Trouble is, the problem with buying stuff like an arena workshop is that ...then I'd have an arena workshop. And I don't want an arena workshop. :turn:

RDO is starting to concern me, what with also doing a spin on the 'endless interconnected and yet thematically-unrelated businesses/properties' thing, but at least the game doesn't nag you to become a trader if you never open Cripps' letter.

I'm always reminded of Elite Dangerous in these instances: if you want to be a miner? Buy a compatible ship, shove a mining laser and a mineral hopper in it, and go mining - congratulations: you are now a miner! Want to be a trader? You can buy a cargo ship, and then swap between supply runs and mining if you want to be a jack of all trades, or if you want to definitively leave the miner's life behind, you can sell your old ship, or sell the mining components to make room for more cargo storage.

In other words, you are what you do, and what you choose to own, and you're never 100% stuck as anything. In GTAO, the game wants everyone to be the same amorphous blob of Content™, and will pester you unless you do and buy All The Things. No room for role-playing, no thought given to personal tastes - just mindlessly accept everything, or enjoy No Content, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The game breaks whenever I open the hood to my car whilst in the editor. I'm guessing that's never gonna get fixed, and the whole clip is probably broken.

Good point - I know you can cheese the existing heists a bit by doing things like using your own armoured PVs for any bit where not everyone has to be in a designated vehicle, but I guess there'll be a bunch of things where you'll be forced to use specific things (like the designated Strombergs for the sub recon setup). And that's aside from on-foot stuff.

Speaking of on-foot, in-disguise stuff, I wonder if this'll be the time where they finally let players choose between going loud (armoured/special vehicles, pretty much like all the other Online heists), or smart/quiet, turning up in stolen emergency/service vehicles, and trying not to blow the crew's cover. They've said there's room for different strategies, things changing up depending on what happens, and replay value - having alternative versions/strategies would be one way of doing that, particularly since a botched stealth/disguise job could easily switch to a run-and-gun scenario. But that'd require almost a more 'immersive sim (lite)' approach, and R* is notorious at this point for on-rails, 'do the specific thing at the exact time, or you'll insta-fail' mission design. We'll see, I guess...

I'm totally with ya here, as soon as I saw we need to be a trader for the upcoming role I thought 'Commander S is gonna love this' I didn't wanna start with more negative vibes over in the RDRO side as I have given the game a bit of a hard time but don't wanna bring others down or be a pain in the arse, lol.

That and I've just given up with it all really. I remain hopeful and tgere's stuff I can enjoy in both games still so just gonna ride this wave and take each addition as it comes.

This is an aspect that really has drawn me in to it all though. It's stuff like this that could soon see me really relish this game again like I know I can and know that R* can create too.

So hoping we do it just like story. Obvious or subtle, pick that path in the prep and the setups are completely different whichever way we go. And reading we can store getaway cars too does sound like a cool idea, hopefully we get full choice of a 2 door, 4 door, or a bike/van, really could be a winner for me. I did think that part of the nightclub was much better where we can upgrade the van/trucks. A bit more freedom and we can flee from Pac Standard, err, I mean the casino however we want. 😎

Looking forward to at least learning how dynamic this gets and hope it's a huge winner. To have more positive things to harp on about more and more would be great in either game. :)

So wednesday night I decided to go to bed and AFK, so I could let my nightclub produce (double money). I got up and went to work yesterday, knowing that because I left the game running, double money would still apply. Last night I sold stock from all my biker businesses (which were also still double money because I hadn't logged out). So I arrive in my nightclub to discover there was $1,500,000ish worth of stock there. Happy days. So I get the sell mission where you make a single drop out to Blaine County and the cops ambush you and you have to lose them or EWO, then deliver to the back up drop-off. About quarter of a mile from the back up drop-off, Steam decides that that would be a good time to have one of it's annoying crashes. So I thought no problem. I'll lose about 3 crates and I'll just run the sale mission again. I completely forgot about the double money bonus resetting. So when I logged back in my stock was only worth half of what it originally was.

f*ck Steam 😡

I know this is a very premature B&M but I just can't wait to see how far R* will go in inflating the fake difficulty in these heists and pay us BEEEEG MONEEEEY (11.5K, lol) for helping out. Or worse, we have to contend with godmode AI who can headshot us from Palota Boi while we're at Terminal, and the heists will be in freemode and all the OP MKII (after they've been buffed again) kiddos hound us for a healthy paycheck of 2K.

So my crew and I were in a friend only session last night and wanted to take my Avenger out for a spin. So I started up a headhunter job, thinking it would be fairly easy with the Avenger's guns. Well, I was wrong. The guns blew up everything EXCEPT the assassination targets. I can take out the targets using a Buzzard's rockets. I can kill targets with the Avenger's guns when doing the briefcase recovery jobs, why wouldn't the Avenger take out the assassination targets? Was this a glitch or did Rockstar program it so that you can't use the Avenger to take out the targets?

The worst part about it is you can't just sell off businesses or properties you don't want anymore.  It's blown money and actually costs you for upkeep.  Even if they only gave back like 25-40% of what you spent it would be better than being forced to sit on things you don't want

Ungh! I hate that I can't sell that useless document forgery, which I bought only because for some reason I didn't do a research about it and somehow got the idea that it will give me a decent amount of money! 🙄

The only bright side about this fact is that now that document forgery serves me as a reminder that I should do a research before I buy anything in GTA:O. 🤣

P.S.

I know Rockstar has to earn money with their products, but this isn't funny anymore. Their so damn obvious and shameless attempts to do everything in the name of the money milking doesn't make me buy their fish cards. It makes me wonder if it's worth it to buy their games even if these games will cost 10 euros.
