I hardly think that R* "wasted time" into put GTA V/Online in next gen consoles just to get their sweet money from those consoles only for 1-2 years. I would say that GTA VI will not be here until at least 2025.

GTA V next gen was most likely something to do whilst in lockdown. Motion cap studios weren't working, so they had to do something. Not trying to turn this into a GTA VI thread, but I reckon we'll see it before 2025. Covid has only made everything a bit more uncertain however if we do get a trailer this october I expect 2024 release.

Wasn't E&E announced before the Covid situation? I think it was in the end of 2019, but i can be wrong...

Yes but it definitely wasn’t very well completed. There was PS3 footage in there.

It was announced in June 2020, right in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Rockstar didn't have anything new to show either, so probably the Sony deal forced their hand, who knows. Safe to say E&E wasn't their top priority in last couple of years.

Ok, but then, we can't say the E&E appeared just because Covid. Covid was only become very serious by March 2020.

I just answered the other guy who told it was in 2019...and you say June 2020...well, either way, i guess it was more a way to milk the game for next gen but also bcz gta would need it anyway, since it was having fps problems because of too many stuff inside the game with all the DLC's that came so far.

Yep, June 2020. The very first announcement-

 

Rockstar mostly worked on upgrading the tools and background stuff for E&E which were necessary both for GTAO, and even future RAGE games. 

If they really wanted to milk GTAO they should've put out more than 2 large updates a year.

we're not "settling for" anything. we're speculating on what hints we have (which is f*ck all but whatever). they may well do cops n crooks or mansions.

It's entirely possible that a movie DLC could bring mansions with it.

It could literally be two DLC's in one.

 

I made this post earlier this month that a Movie DLC which was structured like The Contract update, having a mainline, Heist-esque set of soloable missions focusing on the Production Hell of a cop movie (consisting of CnC's original story, if the "Short Trips" of a Movie DLC had our character "see themselves" in the lead role - i.e. the original CnC missions... as a nightmare(?)) could be used to stealth in any unused CnC content, like owning a Police Car and doing missions just like GTA IV's Most Wanted - which we've already seen with Maude's Bounty Targets from After Hours - as post-story content.

I'm convinced the devs purposefully make the spawn points really inconvenient places just to troll players. The amount times my helis spawn under traffic lights or in a tight spot that will make it blow up right away is too often to be a coincidence.

I've had SecuroServ cars and the like spawn there, so I suspect that Rockstar thought it'd be more convenient (and also get more people to use the SecuroServ feature) if it treated Buzzards the same as cars, rather than just restricting spawns to helipads like for Pegasus helicopters. And so you get Buzzards under bridges and in barns, because it's fine when that happens to something like a Sanchez...

It happens with my Sparrow too though lol. And under traffic lights is a weird spot for cars to spawn too.

Probably because personal aircraft use the same 'just shove it as close as possible to your character' approach as SecuroServ vehicles. Come to think of it, I think that's probably what it does: just put it right next to the character, if there's even the slightest bit of space. That'd explain why I can call for my personal vehicles after doing an Exotic Export, and they'll be the other side of a crane or cargo container, but a SecuroServ car will be as close as possible.

 

Not sure which trade-off I prefer: cars that stick to regular roads, but might spawn several blocks away, or SecuroServ (or similar) stuff that spawns right next to you, but with the possibility of getting stuck in places they can't get out of.

 

(oh, and props to both methods for being equally likely to spawn vehicles on top of a bridge when you're standing at ground level underneath, and it'll take you ages to get all the way up to retrieve your vehicle... )

It's a weekly log in bonus, it was in the Newswire. Prime members get 200k instead.

*I* think they're just messing with us. I had a buzzard spawn underneath the pier at Chumash.

Then when I'm standing right next to the Helipad in LSIA, I'll call for my personal aircraft and it spawns way the hell over on Elysian Island. Not to mention all the times my mechanic spawns my car on the other side of a 4 lane divided highway.
