Ugh.

 

So, got a counterfeit delivery mission.  Got to fly a seaplane at low altitude (at night, no less, avoiding nearly invisible electrical towers) and drop off deliveries.  No problem, I've got pretty good at low altitude flying.  Dropped off five, flew back and got the second plane and dropped off the other five.  No trouble, not a scratch.  I bank and start to turn back toward the city, and the damn cellphone rings, dude wants to congratulate me for doing the mission so well.  Now, however, because the of the phone, I have no control of the plane, which I was flying with the mouse.  While I'm trying to get the phone closed, the plane nosedives into the side of a dam.

 

So ticked off.

The Contract update was a bit of a missed opportunity. They have literal dozens of fictional celebrities in the lore like Poppy Mitchell and Bruce Spade they could’ve used and it would’ve helped establish more lore for the franchise, but they instead to deify Dr Dre. Feels like they wasted all their time and money on his contract and didn’t have time to do any others. Now it’s too late in my opinion to start expanding on it.

Oh come on, the Casino & Casino Heist updates had like what, a month of in-game teasers before the official announcement? Cayo was announced like a month before, and Gunrunning (which was the *actual* Summer update for 2017, Smuggler's Run was more like an early Fall update) 3 months before its release (I still remember!), while you conveniently stopped at Smuggler's Run. After Hours had a teaser trailer a month before. Even Tuners was announced in that "roadmap" article, so we should add that to the list!

So, to recap all the "recent" summer updates' announcements:

Gunrunning: announced in March, released in June (2017)

After Hours: teased in June, released in July (2018)

Casino: teased in-game with construction props from June to July, until official announcement (2019)

LSSS: I don't remember lol

Tuners: teased in the May "roadmap" article (2021)

It's a different situation now.

 

First, we had E&E plus the Sony's "exclusivity".

Second, a new installment of GTA is coming, do you really think Rockstar will focus on GTAO like they did back in 2017?

Third, during that conference call, it was mentioned the mtx will be lower compared to last year (different interpretations in this case).

 

A lot has changed in the world as well, since 2017, you know what I mean.

 

So it's not fair to use these comparisons from 2017 or so on, in my opinion.

If we get a new phone contact like Michael i do hope we get some nice benefits that goes along with it. Maybe we can give Michael a call and we get a "Reveal player" option in the phone menu for instance. RDR2 has this option during a PvP match. Would be cool if we can reveal ghosted players (Outside of a sell) for a certain amount of money. This ability shouldn't work for players who are currently doing sell/cargo/crate misions to ensure people who genuinly use Ghost to protect themselfs rather than griefing other players.

 

- Reveal ghosted players / Organization  

  • Reveal players who used the "Off radar" or "Ghost Organization" ability outside of Sell/Cargo/Crate/Battle missions
  • Cost: 20K
  • Cooldown: 45 minutes
  • Duration: 90 seconds

- Player blip proximity

  • Hides the player's blip untill a certain proximity has been reached from another player. The ability stops once the player has killed another player
  • Cost: 20K
  • Cooldown: 30 Minutes
  • Duration: 60 Minutes

- Drop Anti-thermal armor

  • Drops special armor that hides your heat-signature from a thermal scope
  • Cost: 10K
  • Cooldown: 5 minutes
  • Armor breaks when the player has been killed for 3 times thus revealing his heat-signature again

 

Rockstar did an excelent job with the Imani contact. I use the "Out of Sight" ability everytime i use the Chernobog. It's one of the best (if not the best) way to stop a jet or Oppressor griefer. Just go to the beach or an open area, use OoS, call the Chernobog and let it rain. The pilot has no idea where the missiles come from and the only choice they have is either eject or heist warp. Good luck avoiding one of the best tracking missiles in the game in a constant barrage of missiles. It aint gonna happen. Ofcourse the ability wears off once you get the kill, but then your mission has already been accomplished. Abilities like this can really change how lobbies play out and it's great.

I'm not arguing against that, my point was to show that Spider-Vice's argument that "the general rule is that Rockstar announces an update just a bit before its release" is just wrong, *especially* in regards to Summer updates

Basically if someone kills you while it's active they get a four star Wanted level that can't be cleared until they get taken down, EWO and killing yourself won't work. "Made Man" would be the same, but you keep getting Madrazo goons sent after you that don't appear on the radar.

A track preview from a new Circoloco EP came out today, the actual EP comes out on July 15th, wonder if we can start looking at CLR releases as indicators of DLC if they're gonna be in the game /s :kekw:

We might not have in-game teasers if it's something like LSSS part 2 for this Summer, adding some QoL/announced balancing changes, cars, game modes (pls finally use Cayo), etc.

"Police Escort" - Two Police cruisers follow you and will attack any lawbreakers, including you. Behave yourself.

 

"Police Tail" - Set a Police cruiser to follow another player, alert for any wrongdoing. (Basically have a Police car follow another player like they do when Wanted but no Sirens and they don't attack until they get a Wanted level)

The weird physics of this jump, that always gives you a lateral kick you don't want. I don't get it.

Oh and this bug which I think is old enough to vote, exiting an aircraft with a MC helmet for some reason, and not even the one you have chosen at that.

Yes, basically.

 

Doing other stuff won't hurt (and be faster at the cost of effort) but days sitting at the "leave test arena" screen will be your goto.

 

Don't forget to buy LSCM clothing this week too

If you mean REP, i think it's smarter to at least deliver the 2 customer cars every once in a while before going back to AFK again. Im not sure about the cooldown, i would just check the tuners workshop every 1-2 ingame days, deliver the cars and go back to idle in there. So every 48-96 minutes. And don't forget picking up money from your Agency, Arcade and Nightclub safes, maybe do a popularity mission to keep max income for it.

 

This way you at least get a bit more REP and some money and RP. This way your console or PC isn't completly running in idle wasting energy for basicly nothing and producing heat. :D

Nah try it yourself, you jump and then a split second into the air, your car gets a push. It could be an overly large hitbox on something I guess.

I totally would believe it if it happened, but all we had to go on was just a few clues and expectations, so despite all the speculation (after all that's what we're here for :kekw:) we really have no other evidence just yet. There's that entire rebalancing thing and whatever coming, maybe an LSSS styled update with QoL improvements and some new modes etc as I mentioned above? I'd take either, honestly.

I'm expecting them to remove the rocket boost from the OPMKII and make it 16 missiles instead of 20. 

 

That way I'm unlikely less likely to be disappointed.

Yeah, and maybe the movie DLC with Michael could be a thing, just not scheduled for this Summer (rather, for December). All I'm saying is that Rockstar has a good history of teasing anticipated updates before release.

Rockstar teased the LS Summer Special a whole 3 weeks before release, further confirming my point, even for smaller updates. The more time passes without any sort of announcement/teaser from R*, the later we should *probably* expect the update. Obviously they could just announce it a few days before, like with Smuggler's Run, or Arena War. But most of the time this is not their M.O.

As far as my memory is concerned, that is also what I remember: although some had teasers and a couple recent ones were part of those larger articles, most of them to me, ignoring leaks, seem to have been announced pretty close to release. Maybe I'm rusty, who knows.
