Same, the only two arena war vehicles i want in the nightmare variant is the scarab and slamvan because the slamvan has PRB on the front and the scarab should have a old concept design from PRB on the bottom

The backlash AW got was more because of the super steep entry cost than anything else, because the modes themselves are pretty highly regarded, or maybe people just see them in a better light nowadays - it's personally one of my favourite GTA Online DLC's in terms of adversary mode design. Now purchasing the arena/car/shop/wheel thingy to get access to certain vehicles is still incredibly expensive.

To me it was the best dlc in terms of outfits out of the box. But they got lazy with the spacial alien suits, same body, only changed the heads.

P.S.: still today we having to pay extra money if we didn't unlocked the variant xenon headlights in the LSCM, for e.g., is bullsh*t.

How about another step in the solo-friendly direction? Here's what I'm thinking:

Give us a few npc henchmen / bodyguards to follow us and help in jobs (maybe not heists, but freeroam, business sales and contact missions). Our characters have long since passed the status of kingpins, and what kind of kingpin doesn't have bodyguards who do their bidding? Let us even customize their loadout (weapons and clothing), and behaviour (stealthy, follow close or hang back etc). Make every business operable in a passive way behind the scenes (including doing the sale, we should be able to assign our henchmen to do this).

I agree 100%.  I actually made a thread about NPC companions back in 2013.  Same deal as you described except you mentioned customizing them which would be really cool.

Making every business operate behind the scenes is also a great idea.  This is actually already in the game with the Autoshop as you can get a worker to deliver the car for you.  I think all businesses should have this option.  We literally have characters standing around doing nothing in all of our businesses.  lol

Speaking of headlights, they should add option to put neo light glass introduced with tuners dlc that can be put on ubermact cypher for example on at least all new added vehicles from now on seeing as that type of glass is used on most modern and high end cars in real life. i kinda expected this to be an option for contract dlc cars, ignus would look way better with this option even though i'm aware that it can't be always be noticed, but seeing it in daylight would be nice.

I don't know about everybody else, but the reason I was so unhappy with the release of Arena Wars was the theme of the dlc. It was around a time where GTA was becoming more militaristic and less of a "crime lord simulator". I was already unhappy with the direction of the game thematically, but at least it still toed the line of realism. Then you had AW come out, which completely threw realism out in favour of making a Twisted Metal type dlc. I was annoyed at the time. The clothing was all either alien suits or absurd post-apocalypse fare (at a time where nice clothing options were sorely lacking already); the cars were all weaponized and all neon-painted or rusted. The gameplay was just too wacky to even attempt to suspend my disbelief. Considering that we didn't know GTAO was eventually gonna tone it down with the cartoony stuff in future dlcs, it felt like the people coming up with the ideas at R* had really lost the plot.

Of course we can see that with time they course-corrected and brought us back to more realistic themes since then. I'm glad too, AW is still easily the dlc I engage in least. I practically ignore it exists. That said I can see how they tried something new and that many people enjoy it, I'm just glad they didn't stick with the wacky themes going forward.

The entry cost was just the tip of the icberg. Throw in the payouts, the complete unbalanced nature where the Deathbike is pretty much the key to winning any mode that allows it, the completely RNJesus unlocking system tied to an ever increasing with each rank Progression System... which was foolishly repeated for Tuners, years later. For the love God R*, a career path tied to a single DLC that will never be added to after implementation doesn't need to be 1000 f*cking ranks with Unlocks, just 100 will do fine.

Speaking of those two updates however, there was ONE way that Arena War was superior than Tuners...

@ST0b, @ChiroVette, c'mon guys...i was already way too burned with this prostitution/pimp DLC stuff...🤦‍♂️ I just gave my opinion that would be a normal dlc versus the people who said it wouldn't be a normal dlc. And for some reason, people just connected Vito = Pimp DLC creepyness, probably bcz i just replied in counter argument about those who would found displaced that kind of dlc in gta. With all this fuss, i can say that i already received here and there in private messages people agreeing with me about a pimp dlc and discussing the foundations of how that dlc could work. And this happens, i would guess, because it's such a taboo theme that people are "affraid" and pressured to get roasted in the general chat if they gave that opinion.

No one have fault that some weirdo 6 or 7 years ago made a thread about a prostitution dlc and just made dark and weird ideas to the point that everyone was unconfortable. But if it's a moderate opinion about such a theme, i don't see the problem. Since i'm here, i only saw people asking for a dlc in that regard with a simple formula: having a strip club or brothel and the missions would be deliver and protect your girls from clients and whack rival pimps. Or even a place like that working with a small passive income and being a front of other ilicit activity like drug dealing. Simple as it was like in VC, VCS and GTA SA.

But it's unlikely that we will get such update bcz any R* employee looking at this forum will know the answer. But there's neither the need to ostracize folks that would like to have that dlc in the game, like we are talking about bigfoot, about something so off from the gta lore that because of that should not come, which isn't true, always been an aspect of gta franchise. But let's just rest the case once for all and not mention me again to start the discussion, or i will fell again an evil aura here towards me without my fault. I already stopped talk about this theme, so give me a break, lol.

The only way I'd touch that DLC is if I can help Paige Harris and her team of butch lesbian SWERFs grief the sh*t out of Horny Vito and all the other teenage wannabe virtual pimps. :kekw:

Yeah I wish they just said we're working on movies and TV for the wacky stuff like Arena War, Stunt Races and Hunt the Beast. A missed opportunity since we're in Los Santos with Richards Majestic and Fame or Shame.

Arena War was bad though, just felt like a way to lure in kids to play the bootleg Rocket League. Same with Motor Wars being a bootleg PUBG. And the awful AP system.

Exactly, not to mention the absolutely ridiculous requirements for some "accomplishments", like winning 210 matches in a row in order to reach the 20th skill level and unlock the Go Go Monkey Blista.

Arena War was bad because it was a DLC centered around an Adversary Mode, which are known to die out. The pay is horrible, the ranking system is awful (You rank up faster by spinning the wheel after you die then actually playing). The bike ruined a lot of the balance in the modes. That pretty much sums up why Arena War failed. Shunt Hopping was the saving grace of that update, and the Up-N-Atomizer.

Excuse me i would like to ad my two cent on what the new summer update will be but i don't if it was mention before, could the new update be the hao update that the pc and others did not get when it came out on the new ps5 and the new xbox ????

Or is it a new contract mission that franklin will give us or will it be something totally different ????

It's already 'confirmed' PC will be getting HSW content and probably the RT improvements (with probably extra stuff), the question is when, probably it will come with the next summer DLC.

And the next dlc will probably be a medium DLC with Rosalia, so "contract part 2".

Have you noticed that the matchmaking does not work correctly?

Which is a shame because the modes are actually fun, IMO.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, I really like the modes as well despite the other already mentioned issues with the DLC - the soundtrack was a banger too, bringing back HEALTH was a nice surprise.

All arena war related stuff should be permanently 3xRP, AP and money. At least some ppl would play it then. Maybe i give it a try just to test if ppl even play it tomorrow, just for science. :D Haven't done that in years.

Yup! They did the entire soundtrack for it, and there's even an official EP.

The only time I ever play Arena War is after i've had an encounter with a modder and need to get rid of all those damn weapons... So actually pretty often lol. :sigh:

Then I have to wait forever just to find 1 opponent.

Arena wars was fun but by the time I got to place it, about a week had passed and all the other players had their cars suped up with nitrous and weapons, meanwhile I was stuck with the base vehicles and would constantly get obliterated. It had a lot of potential but the ball was severely dropped. You can tell they put a lot of effort into it too.
