How do we know it wasn't sarcasm anyway ? Maybe it's just another business/contact that works like the others that will be forgotten in 6 months.

Something new, it's very vast and at the same time, to make it coherent in GTA Online...it reduces the possibilities quite a bit.

Because R* never touch old lines of code unless it is beneficial for us players..... had that problem too once on the Ps4 but I contacted support and they didn´t seem happy about the reporting it and demanding refund for lost cargo.... it is one of the reason I don´t do crates anymore!

The matchmaker seems bonkers on the updated version. When i play heists with people I don´t know i usually use the on call function. But if I get an invite t heist the person almost 90% in my lobby already when starting it and then the auto invite basically just shows people in my lobby it never search outside the lobby.

I honestly don't know what "memoryholed" posts you are talking about, stuff we know about is still coming, but Tez's hint was about something NEW, so yeah, stuff we know about already didn't just disappear, it may even come alongside the new stuff, but we are speculating specifically about Tez's tweet that something NEW for a CHANGE is coming

Reminds me when I saw the Mamba a couple of weeks on the Car Meet, which had no windshield and no rollbar IIRC. People expecting something new as content we've never seen before, but it might just refer to longer period of content drought. Sure, current gen got hsw and visual and performance improvements, but pc didn't get sh*t, so E&E announcement and release might be something new for a change (on PC. Although i expect nothingburger untill summer DLC). 

Releasing new car/s, some event alongside fitting cosmetics  such as cola/sprunk event might be something new but nothing spectacular.

inb4 a version of Pursuit Races where you're the cop instead for the pre-Summer DLC filler maps, C&C lite for those who still insist on wanting it  I think that'd be fun tbh.

For that to work fairly they would have to convert some faster car to police variant as default one is not competitive to tuner cars even in their now butchered state after contract dlc. Bufallo would work, but they would have to buff tuner cars to previous state. It would be interesting but then it's just better to release complete update focused on police theme.

A super class Coquette cop car with Krieger handling and speed would be nice for a DLC like that. I seriously would love to be able to do PvP being a cop, hunting down the griefers and not get wanted level for doing so, just add it to freeroam and voila endless awesome PvP.

 

It would need something like Imani Tech, to be at least halfway safe from Oppressor MK2's and other weaponized vehicles, Im not much of a PvP kind of person, but would really like a DLC like that. An EMP weapon onboard would be helpful, and as a cop on foot a taser to arrest ppl, and putting handcuffs on them. Make the players that got arrested spawn in front of the closest precinct with a let's call it probation fee or bail or whatever of 10K, and they can't call weaponized vehicles for 15 minutes. And the cop gets rewarded with RP and money, and whatever maybe new upgrades for the cop cars and a point system, with that you can gain ranks. It wouldn't be too hard putting that into the game. Griefers would think twice attacking other players that mind their own business.

 

Of course they can also add an Adversary Mode ontop of that, so it's only about the chasing or being chased.

 

A simple Need For Speed sort of DLC.

C&C already exists in the game, it's called griefers and tryhards going after grinders. I don't see how that would change by giving them cop cars. If anything this would give them even more reason to annoy people in free mode.

 

I feel like C&C would only work as a game mode.

Well griefers and tryhards would get a wanted level, for destroying cargo, drugs, car deliveries etc. and the players that are the cops could go hunt them for rewards. Sure it wouldn't make much sense, that the police hunts down criminals that attack other criminals, but yeah well it still would make sense in a way. Because all criminals have to be brought to justice. I think there would be less griefers and tryhards with a DLC like that, if a bunch of ppl try to hunt them down for a good reward.

Hear me out:
Why a Liberty City DLC for GTA Online makes sense, and why Rockstar are capable enough to deliver it. I was thinking about this again after Tez2 tweet: "something new for a change"

1. Rockstargames already "experimented" with Liberty City in the GTAV engine (referring to the leaked LC in GTAV screenshot), and plenty of LC easter eggs can be found across GTAV.
2. Rockstargames want to focus on GTA 6, this is why they will deliver a (last) very big DLC to keep players going (before the GTA6 announcement trailer this fall/summer).
3. With GTA next gen, the consoles can handle a new map.
4. Similar to Cayo Perico, rockstar could do the same with LC. A Heist is taking place in LC and all the preps in Los Santos. Maybe even adding only a small part of LC.
5. The "see you soon" billboard in GTA3 was taken in Los Santos from Francis International airport.
6. With players leaving GTAO, a new expansion would really bring many players back as well as GTA4 fans.
7. Tez2 tweet "in about two weeks or so". That would mean if it is about a DLC that Rockstar would start teasing the DLC around June 2, teasing the DLC way earlier than usual (because of the size of the DLC)

I think everyone would like to see a map expansion, especially LC. Whilst this could happen, there are also many arguments as to why it won't happen. One of them is, why would Rockstar spend time making this in the times of the GTA6 development.

It makes more sense for the Trilogy billboard to be teasing VI in VC than any kind of Liberty City, considering the original billboard in the original GTA III was an ad for travelling to Miami. I personally feel like you'll be very disappointed if you're expecting an entire new city like LC remastered to fit into GTA Online.

 

The other portrait you posted is GTA IV with mods, much like the GTA V Story Mode films like Meltdown are.

On a different note, I wonder if the "two weeks or so" from Fun refers to one of two things:

 

- the next Newswire article about GTA+ - because if the update comes out during the next GTA+ period, they might put in some previews of the GTA+-exclusive items/early access/discounts from said update

 

- Sony's rumoured to have an event around the turn of the month (a few weeks ahead of Summer Game Fest) - Rockstar still has that promo deal with PlayStation (which is why "E&E" got shown off at PS events), so maybe there'll be something Rockstar-related then

 

Place your bets as to what it'll be: GTAO news, RDO news (lol, nope ), RDR1 remaster, RDR2 next-gen upgrade, GTA VI, Agent (also lol, nope ), realistic steak...

Travelling back to Liberty City for a job is not "something new for a change", this already happened in GTA San Andreas, there won't be a map expansion just forget about it.
