For PvE I find the MKII Combat MG to be unparalleled, always surprised people prefer an AR. The recoil just walks it right into their heads and even if you don't kill them it puts them on their ass (neutralised) faster than any AR. Maybe y'all are out there fighting the good fight against players and that's why I'm off here?

 

Plus, 200 rounds, and a good ole chugchugchug noise ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

Oh, and lock on range if you play AA

Would be really f*cking nice if we could get some news or even a teaser of the next update tomorrow because we really, REALLY need some news to get away from all this prostitution/pimping nonsense.

 

I think the rebalancing changes that they talked about months ago will only come along with the next update, instead of being a whole update dedicated to it.

 

Either way, I expect it to be underwhelming.

My only hope for "early" info about next dlc could be tied to GTA+, they might start teasing some benefits for members like a special list similar to after hours, but that would suck tbh, all players deserve the same information...its very dry right now

In an attempt to shift the conversation from weird DLC ideas

 

I’m not sure if this has been discussed before as this artwork came with the GTA+ announcement, I just completely forgot to share it then.

 

There’a this peculiar Dubsta with a Yeti Livery.

Not sure if we’re finally getting a lifted Dubsta, perhaps a HSW Dubsta 6x6 or it’s just an artistic choice.

But implementing new moves and actions into 8+ year old melee system is way more difficult

Like they would add new moves, attacks, button actions.

And test it throughout.

And if they just add animations to the them but leave the button prompts, then fighting will still feel the same.

They would need to overhaul the entire melee system and control scheme

I will read your topic. 😃 But i agree with rollschuh below.

Bruh...adding new moves and animations to an old system is NOT more difficult than making a brand new dance minigame.  I know about game development.  The coding may be difficult but adding new animations and assigning them to specific buttons is a cake walk especially if they do it the way I suggested in my thread.  I dont think you even read it because the problems you bring up I addressed.

 

Sure adding animations to the current button prompts will feel the same as far as the "mechanics" but thats a good thing as to not confuse the playerbase.  What will feel different tho is the fighting itself because there are a few small changes that will make a big difference.  For example...

 

* Splitting the defense command into two animations (block and dodge).   Currently we can only dodge by HOLDING the button.  Well they can leave the HOLD aspect in place and simply replace the dodge animation with a block animation.  Then code in a TAP option for the same button so when we TAP instead of HOLD the character dodges like now.  This alone will make a HUGE difference.

* Changing the strike commands from strong and weak to punch and kick.  So instead of pressing A to execute weak strikes pressing A will trigger punch animations and instead of pressing B to execute strong strikes we trigger kick animations.  Same buttons,  same commands but will feel totally different because we get the feeling of control over our attacks.

* Make stamina a part of the process.  When you strike you slightly lose stamina.  When you stop striking stamina refills.  Concept is already in the game in SP when running.  Point here is the lower your stamina the weaker you are so you do less damage to enemies and its easier to harm you.  What this does is kill spamming and reward stradegy.

* Make Right Trigger a modifier button (ie. like what A does for mele when on bikes).  With this they can leave the current system in place and just add to it.  For example,  A is to punch but HOLD Right Trigger then press A to execute a special punch. 

 

None of this would require R* to overhaul the entire mele system and control scheme as you claim.  Same core mechanics and a lot of reused assets and it would feel totally different.  😛

but what we know, is that R* hates going back to old code.
and the core melee system is exactly that.

Because the more prehension speed = faster and cleaner headshots, plus you can rotate, roll and do stuff faster with rifles. Particulary Advanced Rifle in fact, but other rifles do better than Combat MG in this category. Its not really a preference in my case, I try to use all weapons for what they're best at. I think Combat MG is best overal, but there are some disavantages vs using a good rifle, sometimes. 

 

I mostly used Combat MG mk1 against players from 2016 to 2017, but now I just prefere passive mode 🤣

I never saw a game that when adds stuff it brokes a f*ck ton of other stuff. That's some spaguetti code. Arcades never were touched again, but they broken some games...i mean...watching the dates, wizard's ruin got broken in lsss, qhen they added new mini-games...badlands II i dont have a precise date, but probably when camheadz was added.

I believe that's an expanded version of one of the original 2013 Shark Card artworks?

Maybe,  might, probably dont mean anything.  It either is more difficult or its not.  You CAN try to argue this but you will lose and whats this about R* and old code?  Sounds like a strawman argument.  lol  So R* never went back and messed with old code before?  🤔

 

How about this,  and this goes for everyone,  instead of assuming what R* would or wouldnt do how about you guys give that same energy into coming up with ways it can work and let R* decide if they will or wont do it because it is certainly not a matter of can or cant.  I pretty much laid the groundwork for a very possibile DLC.  All you guys need to do is come in and fine tune it,  add to it,  etc  or hell offer an entirley different solution if you dont like it.  Anything but people with no problem throwing up "opinions" of why something wont work but are silent on how they think it can.  Im willing to bet this is already on the table at R* but since you guys rather crap on the current system instead of create buzz for a DLC it keeps getting bypassed.  smh ✌️

I use the not FAMAS rifle and my combat machine mk2 is for serious moments so it's loaded to make NPCs start screaming.

 

The marksman rifle mk2 with a rifle scope has a weaker zoom power and auto aim range for some reason, it's pretty much mouse and keyboard territory if you want to have fun landing headshots on a regular basis.

 

And if you want more dakka use the laser machine gun, people can B&M about it but 9999 shots is interesting, the laser minigun you can.

R* won't open that box of pandora, that is for sure, and that is a good thing. Like @Niii mentioned how would they promote that, imagine how the trailer would look like, the social media and regular media sh*tstorm would mean the end of GTA. They would get sued, hated and all that.

 

Just scratch that Pimp DLC idea @VitoCorleone1992, it's nothing but nonsense and you know that.

 

I would like a car and motorcycles focused DLC again, a chop shop where we can bring cars and motorcycles to steal the cars and bikes parts would be nice. Maybe we could save parts to tune our own vehicles, or we could sell the parts on the black market.

 

Just call it Chop Shop DLC and done. Or whatever the preferred word for it is.

I think we got enough of car business DLCs, first we had import export business then we got Autoshop Client business.This is repetitive and redundant.A Legit FastFood business with Sandwich making mini games would be great.We make sandwiches for VIPs,they enjoy them with Garlic Chilli or Ketchup,and then feel dizzy and when they wake up,Their expensive Michael Jackson's Glove is missing from the Trophy Box/Shelf.Its Legit cash from Sandwich and a little extra(million bucks) from an "ordinary" glove.

If I find the bolt cutters on Cayo why do I need to do the torch or the explosives setup to do the final.....

 

And second.... Did the station setup and was driving off with car why must R* hard script they route to take as soon I started to change direction frequently the red dot npc had problem spawning and started to rubberband and force me off the road instead....

If we get another racing-focused DLC like Tuners Part 2 or something R* definitely needs to try and get Rom di Prisco to make the soundtrack. It would be such a great homage to games like Need for Speed (for which he made the OST for) as well.

Well, without the torch you can't get inside the compount as you can't use bolt cutters to cut open th efront door.

 

But I'll just guess you missed adding "finding the grappling hook". Now locating grappling hook should kinda let you not have to do the torch (along with bolt cutters).

 

Then again, I can't for the life of me find any bolt cutters when scoping Cayo. They blend in too well.

If you find the truck and cloth you can use that instead of torch to gain entry and the hook works too. Don´t forget the key code that you can acquire. What B&M about is that all the secondary loot scattered around the island you need the torch or explosive setup to get in to.

 

The gun boat prep could have been really useful to not need to find the guard cloth to gain the same benefit....

Honestly... New MAP or gtfo. 😆 Because whatever the "DLC" it will have a bunch of fetch missions in this itsy bitsy tinee weeny little rat infested LS map. And if it isn't a new map I would like to help Michael De Santa w/e make an Alien Invasion movie that somehow becomes way too real and LS literally gets invaded with Aliens and knocks ALL aircraft from the sky. NO Mk2's. I have never played gta online without seeing this abomination. I started in 2019... Been a largely negative experience...

R* needs to unf*ck the Part 1 cars so they are not absolute trash because of the garbage rev flag.

 

Seriously, ever since that stunt they pulled I can't get excited for any DLC now. In their staggering incompetence ruining an entire DLC worth of content in one sweep is part of their modus operandi. I can only dread to think how trash that "combat vehicle rebalance" is gonna be. Bombushka and Volatol turrets still broken btw.
