Hey, all I'm saying is if random FiveM developers can create a fully functioning Liberty City with custom peds and all the systems I've described above, then Rockstar could do it with more finesse. Especially now that there is no limitations in terms of technology anymore with next gen.

 

And besides, they've already actually done that. This was found on a Rockstar dev's portfolio showing Liberty City in V's engine with all the changes YOU'VE mentioned already implemented, they just never got around to releasing it for some reason.

yeah exactly, what i was referring to in my comment was exactly whats going on in this gif. Proves that the idea of simply porting the map and nothing else isnt enough, all the LC maps on FiveM really do look out of place i find, its an untouched gta 4 map with gta 5 tree models. As far as why they never finished or released this is beyond me. It looks soooo good and i would kill to see this become a reality. Who knows maybe this project got further than we thought and might actually see a release. But if starting from scratch then i doubt it.

No.

Sure some textures could be reused.

But there is no rotterdam tower model in V.

You can't just copy V buildings and models and make LC with that.

Would still be a lot of work.

You really go there?

Yes we know they worked on it.

And you can't compare Fivem LC mods.

Most of those are very bad.

Very very bad.

Just all the models thrown into the fivem converter

 

That roughly converts them to V.

But there are many things most don't even do.

Like the spec maps.

Or editing the map models to make it look better.

This is the reason why most of those LC maps look too bright in a way.

And not really fitting.

 

And btw, i know a team that has been working on a LC for SP.

And they want it to be good.

And they are on it for years already.

So yeah

I think if it was as intensive to create as people claim it to be, it must've been in development for years by now. I can see them releasing something like this as one last big expansion exclusively to next gen GTA Online before 6 is bound to come out in a year or two to keep us busy while we're waiting. Maybe add one last heist that comes along with the city or something and leave it at that to work on releasing GTA 6.

 

Sounds too optimistic or unrealistic, but a man can dream I suppose. It definitely isn't too out of the realm of possibility in my opinion.

Maybe wasn´t specific enough. What I meant was taking the pedestrians and other npc and just re-dress them with cloth matching the fashion in LB.....

Am I the only one who couldn't find a Business Battle:Event Cargo.I got a few Business Battles:Cargo , and one with weapons but none that would get me those Wireframe bodysuits.

 

E&E PC=15 May???

 

Rockstar has changed the discount/sales structure and I don't like it.Back then,if it was Nightclub week,NightClubs,their modifications and upgrades and a few related vehicles would be on sale,now, it's Nightclub discount first week, Upgrades/Modifications the next week and the special vehicles in the next to that.Very Annoying.

Keep in mind people, they already did this for RDR/RDR2's map. 
Half of the map is a "copy" of an old games map. 
So the idea of them remaking VC into the current version of RAGE isn't to far fetched. 

Also, keep in mind that RDR and GTA IV launched only two years apart from each other. So there isn't massive differences compared to RDR to RDR2 or GTA IV to GTA V.

Especially considering the difference between IV's and V's engine isn't that big. They were both released on the same console generation. It's like the difference between Vice City and San Andreas.

CEO + helper. Have the person that needs to build their strength move the CEO into a corner and start pummeling. Back in the day this was good for a bar every 30 minutes.

One thing that they really could add to Online is the access to North Yankton, even though it wouldn't bring much unless there's something that could make sense like a heist, it's part of the base game and it wouldn't really cost that much effort aside from setting up the NPCs and stuff related (feel free to correct me in this part).

Sure they can re-use hand, head and hair models.

R* even does that with DLCs.

Pretty much every DLC.

but it would need more than like 5 different outfits.

They would need to make a lot more to make it still seem realistic and if they don't want to let us see copies every street like back in the 3d era games.

Omg...do you have any idea how wrong you are...

They are very very different!

After RDR1 they basically re-wrote RAGE and overhauled it.

Even core systems are very different.

Like the entire rendering system changed so much.

Then so many new systems.

 

If you would look at code of both versions of RAGE, i am certain you would see a 90% difference at least.

It would require more than that.

Since everything you don't visit in the SP missions is LQ and not solid.

And since Cayo it wouldn't even work correctly anymore.

Since for Cayo they removed most of the paths for North Yankton in the MP map.

So if they would want to add NY.

then they would need to fully move it and re-add the paths.

Aside from finishing a lot of the environment up

It's not made FOR GTA + though, they're literally just slapping random things from the limited time pool into it(And clearly not checking rather they gave it out or not much like with the standard free items)

Is anybody else’s RC glitched? I can’t access either of them. It says they’re “currently unavailable”. I’m not in the middle of a job or activity, either. No Business Battle or anything going on. Changing sessions fixes it.

Took a long break from GTAO and this is my first session back. This game is so good. So glad they are (re-re-)releasing the game on the third generation of consoles at full price.

You should already have them/be able to get them from the shop.

They aren't new

I tell you something, dense grass, bushes etc. is a thing in other DX11 games too, and in these games there isn't such a perfomance drop if being around it. The Far Cry series until Far Cry 5 is all DX11, it's only DX12 in the newest Far Cry 6. The Crysis series also has dense grass, bushes etc. sure it's old games, but they still perform good and have very dense foliage.

 

The vegetation on the Cayo Perico island is just badly optimized, i hardly think it has anything to do with the API, like @rollschuh2282 already mentioned, it's just polygons.

Sure, but those polygons, densities and whatnot were only really tested on RDR with dx12 and vulcan

Not to mention LS doesn't have a forest as such

Sadly, I think the introduction of GTA+ pretty much solidified R* has no plan on releasing a new GTA anytime soon.
