LC DLC exclusice for "E&E" would be an instant PS5 buy in my case. But I´m not hoping anymore for such map expansion DLC. Guess they will wait till GTA6 to offer map expansion.

I hope R* never wastes ressources on "player housing", it's not like these apartments serve any real purpose, sure we can start Heists in there and drink the green stuff to get HP back, but that's it.

It's not like we have to store any loot or weapons or armor and stuff in there, it's just useless and cosmetic. I can understand why "player housing" exists in RPG's, but GTA is no RPG, it's just not needed.

GTA Online should become an RPG imo.

A game without loot is no RPG. It can't be and will never be. How should that work in GTA, it's not like weapons with stats exist, there are no armors, there is no crafting etc. i can't even imagine how that should work. Sure Cyberpunk works right, but it wouldn't feel right in GTA. GTA is all about money and it should stay this way.

I truly hope GTA VI won't be like Cyberpunk, with 6 armor parts, weapons with stats, a skill tree and all, nah that sounds way to unlogical for a game that is supposed to be realistic.

Edit: I could imagine some sort of "softcore mode", where we have to eat, drink, sleep, buy gasoline for our cars, kerosene for jets, maybe workout and jog for strenght and fitness, where we actually see muscles getting more visible, like in San Andreas. But that's so pretty much it.

Well an RPG (Role Playing Game) is simply a game in which you can play your Role as you like. Even without "loot" you can surely play your Role in a Game like GTA, being a Drugboss with Clothing of your choice, your home were you want and play as you wish. Done RPG. Like the GTA RP Servers that exist, no looting at all and still an RPG.

Well that sounds pointless and boring. Making something like this feel "rewarding" is way too complicated. Imagine playing a cop, that starts on the street as a regular well cop, you arrest ppl, for speeding, drug posession, prostitution and boring things like that. Someday you become detective solving crimes, nope that doesn't work. You can't really do something like that in a game, and make it fun. It would become something totally repetetive, because adding something like that is impossible. Except you only are a regular cop on the streets forever. You would need RNG in RNG in RNG, maybe with AI generated missions that always have a different outcome, well to make it interesting. No coder can do such things. Scripting something like that wouldn't work right. Something like this might work someday if there are thousands of other players in a virtual city, then the whole RPGing would work. Then there would be real players acting as police, firefighters, paramedics, drug traffickers etc. but NPC's would still be needed to make the game more interesting.

Just imagine the movie "Free Guy", this way it could work right but else not really.

That’s not true, all the in game weapons have various stats and upgrades and there’s several different levels of armor you can equip that you have to rank up to unlock, along with HP boosts as you rank up.

Have you ever played either of the true crime games? Or NARC? They do exactly what you described and they make it fun and rewarding to the player.

furniture would be cool, but can you imagine if they add ability for our characters to get swole, logic follows you could also get fat, the GTA SA system would be so cool in Online

I was about to tell you that an RPG is more than just a game where you can play your role, which is true, your definition is incredibly loose and there is a clear definition of an RPG, and I was about to tell you that GTA Online doesn't fit that definition, which does include loot btw, but this game DOES have loot, NPCs drop guns and ammo, money, and snacks all the time, and we have an inventory, rudimentary as that system is, it still fits the description, in fact the whole game roughly fits the description of an RPG, so yeah, GTA Online IS technically an RPG, just for more reasons than just "you can role play"

The stats differences of the weapons are not enough to make it "RPG" in any way. The light to heavy body armor has nothing to do with "RPG", and the HP nah that is just a small difference, i mean at rank 200 everybody has the same HP afaik.

I just watched videos of True Crime New York and NARC, and both look like horrible outdated boring games, that are just scripted.

stats and progression are characteristics of RPGs, even implemented as rudimentary as they are in GTA Online

also

might have also been the original plan for e&oc because the same update added 2 props that you could add to your penthouse: a treadmill and a crosstrainer. both still in the files and unused.

I'm guessing those would've been to raise Stamina and Strength stats, rather than making yourself more muscular. Or maybe at best give yourself a more muscular texture with more visible abs and stuff, while keeping the overall player model either completely the same or roughly the same.

Yep, the load screen news come with the Newswire (which is posted from New York) as it's even the same wording they use.

Not the load screen, the new Main Menu, which is a lot like RDRO's, listing the offers and bonuses and so forth

While Liberty City would be an amazing addition to the game I feel it's too much of an undertaking for a free DLC. I know they have the map from GTAIV, and it has all the NPC spawn points and traffic AI etc, but they would need to add apartments, NPC mission givers, record hundreds of lines of new dialogue, new cutscenes etc. It's almost an entirely new game and I don't feel that R* would put that much effort into a free DLC when they can, and will, get by on a fraction of that work set in LS.

But then again, you have games like No Man's Sky and FO76 adding DLC sized updates for free, so there is hope.

One thing I noticed with the updated version on Ps5 is that GTAO looks like plastic like there is something missing in how the world is colored.... So this idea with adding a new map they would have to remake GTA 5 so it looked more like RDR2 world... And so with GTA 4.....

Ah well, same thing though, they probably update it at the same time. 😛

Also aww was expecting some stuff on vehicle exports too and not just special work, it's been a while.

I remember when there was the rumour going around that E&E would be a remake on the RDR2 engine. I think what you are talking about is just poor HDR implementation or a lighting change.

I don't mean to be a killjoy, but I think people are getting their hopes up too much for a full Liberty City map expansion. I could see a Heist set in Liberty City like the Saint Mark's Bistro mission from SA which would be a fantastic nod to SA as well.

Pretty weak event...the discount on supplies is Nice, but special vehicle work should be 3x...oh well :cringekek:

Only 30% off in warehouses is a little stingy :harrumph:

LOL good times, you put that guy on blast and I think I did it too.

Just to be clear here, you're being sarcastic now, right?

I made that dumb comment because I didn't believe him at the time. Safe to say he has been right the whole time.

I'm just waiting to see whether Vice City in the next GTA ends up in modern times so it could further verify what he has said. And it would show that ideas internally in regards to GTA6 have been discussed as far as 2014/2015 and likely before that.
