This is kind of like the Heist Month they did before The Contract DLC, each week this month they'll be focusing on different aspects of Executive, Biker, Gunrunner, etc. Like last year they did one Heist per week.

 

Could be a sign the DLC is at the door. When Heist Month ended they announced it IIRC.

Depends on how significant it is. I'd love to see the comeback of in-game teasers but I bet they'd reserve that for bigger DLC's like the Winter ones, dunno.

Surprised they haven't shipped out a quick patch for Series X|S players. It's hard to even look at the game with vehicles not correctly casting shadows underneath them.

I don't even notice, lol. It looks better than old gen, and the extra frames are great. I think some of you watch too much Digital Foundry and try to see the technical fault in everything, instead of just playing the game.

It cost money and they don´t earn shark cards on it but it could have been a way of R* to show that with GTA+ now we do miner downloadble patches instead of fixing it twice a year!

wouldn't perf mode with no RT and standard shadows and AO work just fine?

Every 4-player Cayo I have joined has resulted in me following the Host, because it's his Heist, while the other two grab the first vehicle they see, honk the horn like psychopaths while we're grabbing secondaries, then proceed to drive off along the main roads (without Guard Uniforms) all the way to the Compound's Main Gate entrance, with not a care in the world about 40+ enemy vision cones they drive through on the way there and then bitch that the alarms are going off.

 

Even the one time I hosted a "perfectly setup" one, Guard Uniforms and a bunch of secondaries at the airstrip. We took out all the guards and the camera, someone ran off to the power station - didn't bother turning it off, or putting guard clothes on, grabbed a car then drove off towards the main gate, another got his guard clothes then started honking furiously while the 3rd guy and I were grabbing secondaries only for him to drive off while we were doing so and leave us.

I’ve probably typed this three dozen times, but all I care about is cars, weapons, and vehicle handling changes. Anything more is icing on the cake. I will be curious to see if they continue adding HSW upgrades.

Forgot to mention on top of all that - I also did all Disruption Preps fully + Spike the water, one of them still got killed.

 

That and... I never host Cayo with other players unless there's some very odd and specific reason.

I can't imagine the existential crisis the entire Mission Design Team would individually suffer if they watched a Heists with Randoms video.

 

If they were to ever do a reaction video, this is pretty much how it would go, but with all the staff slowly breaking down into tears as they realise all they're months of efforts to create these really cool, really variable and really enjoyable missions struggle to be understood with the most minimal of colour coded UI designs, on-screen objectives and straightforward dialogue isn't enough to help 97% of the playerbase even begin to understand what the success condition is;

That was so spot on! Done heists with all kind of people but I think if we get a new heist they need to do a walktrough in the intro for the dlc!

I really hope there is no Rosalia contract. This game is starting to feel like a virtual billboard for Rockstars musical interests, more club kid simulator than crime sim. I miss the days of street level dramas like Niko and Johnny K, don’t get me wrong, I love the epic scale of GTAO with its bunkers and secret agent man stuff, but the constant theme of music biz marketing is starting to grow stale for me. The Contract, while ambitious, just wasn’t all that fun and it seems like a lot of the budget went into licensing and mocap with little effort put into the missions and actual gameplay. Standing around a studio watching aging rappers record music in a video game is too meta for my old ass. Even if they expanded on and made sequels to Gunrunning, Smugglers Run, and Bikers, it would enthuse me far more than this current direction. It leaves me deeply skeptical about the potential for VI especially if set in VC. 

 

Don't even get me started on the racing/vehicle handling mess that Rockstar have created. Best case scenario is all the Tuners get HSW upgrades and de-nerf them to their former glory, or at least remove the rev limit flag and allow them to brake boost again. Surely there’s some way to combat curb boosting but still allow for brake boosting?

That's the thing: R* don't need to. They design Heists well enough (except half the original Heists update and Doomsday Act 3 Finale), and with more recent updates have understood not to send us into finales blind by adding mini-game practicing add-ons like in the Arcade. The problem is 95-98% of the playerbase has no problem solving skill or self-critical thought combined with a complete lack of situational awareness.

 

People who;

Spoiler

 

- refuse to deviate from the yellow GPS, (even if they miss a turn 20 seconds away from the objective and it takes a 5 minute detour - evidence), even refusing to simply go off-road while following the route to avoid crashing into police/traffic, unless it's attempting to ride a motorbike up a vertical cliff wall.

 

- can't understand up/down markers or inside/outside a building.

 

- don't bother investigating what the options other than Difficulty can offer in the original Heists.

 

- will accidentally (somehow) Force First-Person then say they're glitched and locked in first person

 

- will follow the Docks Team in Setup: Prison - Station despite being on the Cops team and have the Find a Cop Car objective on-screen.

 

- ask you not to leave their Casino Heist because they've spent 5 hours trying to do it - but have refused to go back and do even a single optional prep.

 

- run around the Casino vault aimlessly for up to an entire minute not bothering to pick up any loot.

 

- admit they can't hack deciding they're going to try and hack.

 

- join Cayo's and decide to just drive for the Main Gate stealth be damned, or run away to do God only knows what.

 

- even when motherf*ckin' Moodymann is saying not to wave they guns aroun' n sheit, will tear into the UD garage like it's a ghetto drive-by.

 

 

Remember when the Casino Heist had just come out? If you were playing S&S or Big Con, nearly 100% of teams would have someone who refused to even attempt to leave the vault until the timer had run out, because they didn't realise Lester was telling them the alarm would trigger IF everyone had not left the vault before it ran out, they thought the alarm went off anyway and the Heist would always descend into Aggressive once you left the Vault.

If you think things are bad now, just you wait until Rockstargames brings us Live events and concerts at the 'Vinewood Bowl Theater' in Vinewood. Reminiscent to Fortnite's.

I wish - he just carried on his merry way, all the way around that corner, heading south, takign the down ramp to go past the oil refinery & wind farm, past Bolingbroke and finally reaching the other end of the dirt track he was supposed to take in the first place. All without going off-road/cutting corners or having the bravery to overtake NPC traffic the van could easily outpace - also refused to get in the van when told to, shooting at it with the Technical, then ramming it with an enemy SUV while I was sitting in passenger seat waiting for him to read his mission objective, telling him to get in the van.
