I honestly don't know who is coding these NPCs. Obviously the effort over there at Rockstar is gone, and it's showing. It's almost as if they're hiring random people off the street outside their studio to code their AI. 

 

There was even one scenario where the guy on the bike kept driving into the front of a store. He would respawn nearby after several seconds, then go back into the front of the store again. Rinse, repeat. 

 

Somebody else posted about this exact same scenario some pages back, but I can't remember if it was you or somebody else. Well, I decided to kill him and that spawned the yellow marker, which was in the alleyway behind the store. 

 

This contract is extremely frustrating for this very reason. It just does nothing but waste your damn time.

Something similar happened while I was tailing the dude, but instead of a store front he kept bumping into the moving train in Davis. I'm still surprised that didn't kill him there.

Forget that though, get a load of this sh*t. It gives us the hit where we have to kill the dudes driving Coil cars before they get to the destination, and the bonus is to do a drive-by using the Micro SMG. Well, I have the Micro SMG hidden, and guess what, the game WONT LET ME DISABLE CUSTOM LOADOUT DURING THIS MISSION. So I literally cannot do the bonus, but hey it doesn't even matter because one of the targets got to the destination (Paleto Bay) so quickly there was no chance in hell I could have gotten to him in time even if I did have a Micro SMG

 

Yeah, the multiplayer ones are, well, I hate to use words like "rigged", but how else can I describe it? On a couple of occasions, we absolutely did what we were supposed to but still failed the objective (Hitmen with thrown explosives & Dealers with simultaneous suppressed pistols). And you're spot on about the Paleto Hitmen one - they spawn so close and are moving so fast that you'd pretty much have to have someone already in Paleto to intercept them. Of course, if there's just two of you then you have to be together to trigger the Hitmen/Dealers, so preempting them is not happening. 

 

The only ones that we have ever succeeded with are Hitmen after they arrive & Dealers with thrown explosives. Even on one Hitmen attempt, one of the cars stopped outside the circle & wouldn't enter, not even once they got out of the car. 

 

I have no idea why the 1-player ones are so ridiculously easy while the 2+player ones are so ridiculously impossible. My tinfoil hat tells me that R* has made the Contract DLC so multiplayer unfriendly to encourage everyone to buy their own Agency rather than just work for someone else's Org. That would explain why Associates get half pay for Assassinations and nothing at all for Security Contracts (not even credit for completing one).

 

R* has really reached new depths in driving player behaviour on this DLC- this is EA-level sh*t. Whatever it takes to pump up that "player engagement" that they love to brag to the shareholders about, eh? Sigh, I miss the days when developers would drive engagement by making awesome content that we played the sh*t out of because it was awesome and fun. This brutal manipulation we get nowadays is actually offensive. I quote one of R*'s own characters when I say "have some goddamned faith!".

There is is just that tiny enough window between shots to let you take out two targets each (or three, but that's probably PC-only territory, because at that point you need to aim FAST). Pistols seem to be more forgiving though, I had only 50/50 success ratio with the sniper rifles. I always use the weapon game wants me to use. You get the "bonus failed" pop-up, but it will count as successful on the final screen, provided you did it fast enough.

 

Yeah, Hitmen Paleto is absolute BS. You'd have to have a jet ready next to the phone booth every time to anticipate it. The game should check where you are before giving that one.

We counted it in, I watched them all drop at the same time, bonus failed. Not just the "failed message but you still get it" thing, either. I don't know what the ROF is on the AP, but I've done enough double-kills with it to know it's fast enough. In any case, we got the Award with the doable variants and now I'm never touching the 2+ Hits again. They're designed to be failed.

With how finicky and easy to fail those missions are I never tried to check which missions fail by switching weapons. Maybe not using the Ceramic Pistols as the game wants you to do also fails it. Or not interacting with the backpack. Or it's a PC thing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is Ceramic Pistols the requirement? I've never been CEO for that one so have never seen the exact wording. That would explain the failure, tho, because we nailed the sync-shots. 

 

I shall have to have a word with my crew about what 'word-for-word' means... as in, when I say "read me word-for-word what the requirement says" I mean read me word-for-motherf*cking-word what the requirement says. Love ya, tho 😘

The messages never specify it, but that's the weapon that is being given from the backpack that Franklin wants you to molest before engaging the targets. Sure, he says "a pistol", but I never trust any flavor text in this game, if I get a pop-up "Ceramic Pistol equipped" I'm gonna use said pistol in case the script checks for it. Same reason why I always pick up the backpack with the mission weapon. You never know what the scripts expect you to do until you dig into the code.

Something's wrong with the explosive sniper when you use it against jets. The first shot damages them, as expected. The second shot, however, doesn't do anything to them. Instead, it just goes through them.

I just tried to sell a single crate...Got the cuban 800 mission, 3 drops, after the first drop i Got the infamous glitch...still not patched since 2016 :sarcasm:

I'v been having trouble with it against vehicles and helicopters in freeroam and missions.

I really think the stupid Dre sh*t would have been better in After Hours rather than the sh*t DJ's that were in it....

Maybe then it would have made a little more sense then the whole dlc that has Franklin trying to blow him through the whole thing.

I really dislike the way that the Heist finale missions are locked to certain Rockstar created outfits, which are generally awful. I did a few runs of Cayo Perico at the weekend to build up my funds again, and I thought just how more immersive it could be if, after the initial first time of doing the finale, it was then unlocked so that the player could select his own outfits and weapon loadout. 

 

It galls me that I have to skydive onto a tropical island in a pair of neon pink camo shorts and a flourescent face mask like somebody lost on the way home from some rave. It would be so much better being able to wear some decent gear and have better weapons. I would love to be able to use that stun gun on the guards for example.

Locked outfits are terrible. I especially hate the "Big Dog" outfit you scope Cayo out with. Although, my group has made it a joke and we all use that outfit when we do the heist together. The times when locked outfits make sense, like with the scuba gear approach, they don't give you any options. Why does everyone have to be in a plain black scuba suit? Why can't it default to the color scuba suit that I picked out for my sub? Why can't I pick out one of the styles you can buy from stores?

 

And on the flip side, when they force you into outfits, why don't they make them as purchasable outfits at the store? With the Contract DLC the only new outfit are the golfing ones. Why not the cleaning crew disguise? Why not the outfits that you are forced to wear in the first two finales?

Re: These payphone hit missions, is anyone else finding that if you click out of listening to Franklin's long explanations and hang up early sometimes they are not getting the missions activated - although you're still locked into the non-existant mission so can't do anything else unless you wait it out for it to expire or change sessions?

The bitch being, once I reach the door Dre’s cowering behind, I have to look for something to do for 5 goddamn minutes in a 100% tiresome unskippable cutscene.

Can't find the stash any where to get the bonus. Can they make anything that's not broken?

Studio Time is just a garbage mission all around.

 

- Awful CQB against aimbot enemies

- Dark environment meaning you can't see sh*t in there and enemies sometimes don't show up on the minimap

- Unskippable 5 minute cutscene that is longer than Bogdan's speech AND all cutscenes in CPH finale combined.

I swear, the client from Rescue Operation in the Agency jobs has THE DUMBEST FN AI I've seen in a game! He could not find a way to go around my Akula to finish the mission, cause I guess there was a pixel too much for him to go around (there was PLENTY of space to go around the chopper from both fn sides). Naturally, I got into the heli to lift it and slightly move it, and because GTAO, of course, one of the propellers did catch a palm, heli blew up killing me and the fn [email protected] client, failing the mission. FN r3tard3d.

 

PS Also, can the fn game stop SWITCHING randomly my weapon of choice with what is at the MG slot currently? I prefer my Special Carbine MKII accuracy by a country mile!

I swear the enemies not popping up on the mini map (except when you respawn) must be some kind of a glitch.

Todays B&M: I don't like it to get into AI forced controversial nonverbal discussions with pedestrians after jumping from a roof besids them - with a bit of distance - while doing a mission. What the fork AI! 🤬

I've done the mission enough times to start memorizing where and when the new enemies spawn in. I think it's based on how many have been killed so far. I hate the blind corners and have been using a lot of grenades in this mission. The worst is when you think you're done but there is a guy stuck in one of the spawn rooms and not showing on the map. At least the doors are unlocked when an enemy is inside.

This is annoying but, at least, this isn't the worst problem because it can be solved with the jerry can or Molotov cocktail.
