The whole fact Cayo exists now is to exclusively pander to players like you.

No, Cayo exists because the economy was terrible for people who didn't treat GTAO like a job but instead of rebalancing the whole game Rockstar just released a band-aid fix with a super high payout. Is that a good solution? No. Is it a solution that gives a lot of people access to the game without grinding for years and treating the game like a second job? Absolutely, like I tried doing cargo for around 20 hours for example and I cannot imagine how anyone could stay committed to such a boring activity just to make some money in a videogame. It's garbage that nobody should be exposed to while it took me 100 hours to try out all the different approaches to Cayo and apart from the usual GTA jank I enjoyed every second of that. And if you're not only doing the "drainage tunnel time efficient meta" but vary it up then it's really hard to get bored of Cayo actually so yeah, thank god for that piece of DLC, it's great work that's perfectly suited for grinding.

It’s not about “showing off” either, it’s about finding the path of least resistance and learning through action, especially in four player mandatory missions. I understand some missions you want to run solo for the curiosity and exploration, who doesn’t? But for those that require more, hosts somehow want complete control over everyone like a damn dictator, usually accompanied without manners. They can’t have their cake and eat it so nine times out of ten end up rage quitting, wasting their everyone’s time. But the thing is they keep doing this, like somehow 3 other players will eventually conform to the hosts ruling even if it means treading the mill to get it. It shows a complete lack of social awareness. Repeating the same action expecting different results is the definition of an idiot.

Well I'm the kind of host that thanks everyone their contribution so I can't relate to this gibberish. Here's an example of what I mean when I say I don't like playing with high ranking players. When I was doing the casino missions there was that one where you have to jump on some Hakuchou Drags to go and get a car back. High ranking dude joins, the matchmaking is terrible so I start with only 2 people, high ranking dude shoots out like a motherf*cker and already starts coming back with the car by the time I get to the point where the shootout is supposed to take place (which he of course entirely skipped somehow). I missed the whole mission, all of it, had to replay it later with other people just to see how it looked like. There was another time when a cheater joined and he skipped the cutscene because he was impatient... had to watch it on Youtube later.

So yeah, on PC if someone rank 500+ joins you kick that dude because there's a 90% chance it's a cheater and even if it's not he'll most likely ruin your playthrough. Am I a demanding host for not wanting people to use exploits or "meta strats" that result in the new guy not even being able to keep up on his very first playthrough? I really don't think so, hell if I replay my favourite missions by joining randoms I always let the guy keep pace with me but then again I'm not the kind of dude who even cares about speedrunning anything. Yes, there are also missions that are clearly designed in a way that the more experienced player should carry the new one but that doesn't mean soloing the whole thing either.

And in general I just tend to wait for a friend to become available instead of hosting stuff for randoms, kill me with your hate now I'm such an evil person.

That's the thing though: I didn't dish out anything whatsoever, I just told you what playstyle I prefer and then you two got offended by that. Seriously just re-read your previous comment and tell me that's a guy you want to play co-op with, it's just full of this entitled bs of you wanting to "show the way" to less experienced players so that they too might play like you do (lol). It might be a surprise to you but most people just want to play the game in their own pace and yes, sometimes that means dying a bunch of times on the first playthrough. Hell on my first playthrough of any heist I go out of my way NOT to look at any guides or videos, I just do all the prep there is the way I think it should be fine and then go and do the heist. Yes there will be a lot of mistakes and bad setup decisions but that's the beauty of it. Then you replay it if you liked the initial playthrough and you get better again: in your own pace and with players looking for a similar experience.

So you know, maybe just take the game less seriously, it really is just a game. That mindset is very useful especially when you're playing with randoms since really with random players completing any heist is just the icing on the cake, the unexpected extra that sometimes happens.

While earning the Producer award my character just sat behind the bar and chugged whiskey. I was trying to determine how many drinks I could have before passing out. When you die from drinking you wake up in the alley across the way. When you go back in Dre will still be in the studio if his fifteen minutes of fame aren't over yet.

Valiant ENT CEO

These fuxking lobbies full of MCs and CEOs not doing sh*t my makes my blood boil! Why are you at the clothes shop for 20 minutes? Why are you CEO if you wont accept an Executive deathmatch while you obviously killin noobs?

The casual gta players and wanna be gangster call of duty thugs are the most uninspiring group of individuals I have ever came across in my life.

Once upon a time gta players were imaginative and knew the meaning of this game.. I don't understand the brainlessness that is "GTA today"

Where's the problem to make that orange DJ Pooh tee available immediately after the player has finished the meeting mission with Dr. Dre?!  Why players, who want that tee, has to wait until the January 21?!

It's great that Rockstar puts out a bike that costs 2.5 mil and it's basically a Bati...

It's not even the silly price or average performance that gets under our skin, but the instinctive knowledge after playing Rockstar online games for so many years that something isn't quite right and that the intrinsic value of this motorbike doesn't afford a good cost-effort ratio, regardless of how much we can earn per hour through well-paid grinding. I like the look of the bike and I like motorbikes in general, but this bike tells me to take a break and come back next week instead. Either way, I will have forgotten about it by then.

Imagine going back to 2015 and telling your past self that one day the game will ask you to pay nearly $2.5m for a bike. Absolutely f*cking mental. Even back in the day when I had several hundred million, I wouldn't have been able to justify buying it.

Let's not forget the possibility, no matter how big or small it is, that this thing could be nerfed at some point, just like the Tuners DLC cars, which is why if I'll ever going to buy it, I'll buy it only when it will have a discount.

We now have 100 percent solid proof that rockstar employees do not play GTA Online. At all.

Who in the actual f***k signed off on that abysmal, one sided, utter kd warrior infested load of bollox that is the new adversary modes.

Awful, not even IGN could be paid to make a good review on this.

There's a fine line between good and bad when it comes to game modes in online, this one takes the crown for  "Instant DISLIKE and never play again"

The bike; not great, not terrible, expensive for sure - princess robot livery will whet the appetite for some of the eBoy collectors out there.

No or delayed news wire?

Of all the new t shirts, glasses and other unlockables they've added into the game for drip feed over the past updates, they give us an executives and other criminals dlc from 2015 Pastel smoking jacket? You could almost say that's punishment for the recent backlash with RDO (kidding ofc). The person that does the tunables clearly has no clue what content they actually have to give us anymore.

I finally got around to finishing up the Dre sh*t......

What a flipping waste. The story was crap, Franklin is still crap, Dre is crap, and just a $ 1, 000,000 for it is a insult. The only character that was cool was Imani and of course Lamar again lol.

Yeah bur Broughy has the Drag and Shataro as being faster then the Bati, and as a guy with a few thousand races under my belt myself, it's not either of those two bikes I generally see topping leaderboards at the end of races.    Like the Shataro can take advantage of it's cornering and compete with the Bati on very specific tracks that is basically all hard turns.     But the Drag?    Nah man.     Although it should be noted broughy does his testing on the street and most of my experience is with Stunt/Transform races, which results can vary between the two due to the differences in road surface.

But this Shinobi feels like it corners pretty quick, and while it can wheelie at low speed, it struggles to get the wheel up when already at high speed.     I'd honestly call it more of a buffed Akuma then anything.

Thankfully I'm the type of person who generally doesn't give a flying rats arse about cosmetics. :D A nice new bike would be cool though cause if there's one thing about bikes in this game it's that they are really, really, really boring. Thank god that the current time trial can easily be accomplished with a car, hate using bikes for even that.

Yep, had the Shinobi spawn at a vehicle recovery contract and it instantly became evident that the wheelie is really bad compared to the Bati.

I just got reported for cheating! I'm so happy, god, it's been years

See, there was a jet griefer in session, and I hadn't tried out Imani's little OTR bubble yet. So, Mk II to the roof of Tinsel Towers, call Imani (that stealth bubble is totally OP, btw) and play the waiting game with my Explosive Sniper. Bloody jet is blocked by Weazel Plaza so I can't get a LOS on him, then some do-gooder on a Skillbike bloody robs me by getting the jet first.

I was understandably irritated, and I'm afraid I took out my frustrations on a fellow trying to drive the Cock-a-toos limo into LSC. And his buddy. 5 times. I know, I know, I'm a dick. But it's been a while, and I was up there for mischievous purposes, after all...

Anyway, as I'm ragdolling the buddy around, Limo Boy texts me. Obviously, I'm busy. Then Ragdoll jumps on an OP Mk I. Did I mention I got roofside with my own Skillbike? Yeah, so, pop chaff, boost, bank, fire, no more Mk I.

I head inside the apartment, gleefully anticipating my mostest favouritest communication, hate mail. I love hate mail. And the very best kind of hate mail is the kind that accuses you of cheating. It means you kicked someone's ass so hard they thought you were using magic. Delicious, nom nom nom. It was exactly what I'd hoped, and of course tradition demands I poke a little fun at him.

Anyway, over the exchange, he refuses to accept that I was engaging in some classic rooftop sniping and thinks I was shooting thru walls (is that even still a thing? And don't you have to be like super-far away for it to work?). Tells me he's reported me. I almost did a little dance. I'm not much of a PvP guy, so to get hate mail AND reported in my first direct engagement in f*ck-knows-how-long was just delightful.

Unfortunately, they left after a little bit of back and forth (obviously in fear of my leet haxxor skills 😂), and I was unable to convince them that I just plain old shot them from a rooftop. Limo Boy says his friend looked up there and didn't see me. What, between ragdolling and respawning, he was able to fully scan the rooftop, was he? Plus, more than once I saw him pointing his gun right at me, so obviously he knew where I was. He's just a crap shot, or stunningly unobservant. Probably both. And it's not like I was standing up and wiggle-dancing (I don't have that toggled since I'd rather have the zoom), I was sliding back and forth in cover and only popping up to shoot because I'm not a moron.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun, I got a better reaction than I could have ever hoped for and I must not do this again anytime soon because it's too easy and I might get delusions of badassery. Although I recall the words of The Mighty Jingles who said, "if you find yourself in a fair fight, you haven't planned your attack properly", so in that regard it was a roaring success. Plus I let it go after 5 kills (the 6th one doesn't count because I used the Skillbike, so the bike gets the credit), so I'm not feeling much remorse.

Now, you're probably wondering why, if I was so pleased, is this in the B&M thread?

Two reasons.

One, motherf*cking bitch-ass sore losers who think they're so awesome that anyone who kills them must be cheating. Day one player, rank 750+, posesses all the toys - I mean just because I don't PvP doesn't mean I can't PvP, and I cut my sniping teeth shooting pre-nerf Rhino drivers out of their tanks at 500 meters. A stationary limo two blocks away is child's play, as is a player on foot standing in the middle of the street 200m away.

Two, now some poor algorithm has to review a bullsh*t report - just a flagrant waste of resources. Bogging the system down with crap like that is why godmode users aren't getting banned. I have no concern whatsoever about getting in any trouble from R* as any data review will show that everything I did was legit, but I assume that it won't even get that far. But it shouldn't even be a thing.

All because some crybaby couldn't handle being the victim of a vicious, premeditated surprise attack... 😈

I like stories like this, its fun to read. Hats off to you.

Anyway, in my own experience: If you combine going off the radar + explosive sniper against random people (even griefers) they will assume you are hacking/modding.

Doesnt matter if you are on pc, playstation or xbox.

You know whats fun? Going on a tower with the EMP gun while off radar, and hitting a jet with it.

I hit a hydra yesterday with ghost organisation, the griefer got so mad I almost fell of my chair from laughing :kekw:

Just a tiny bit late on this one, but I need to bitch a little about Cayo Perico. I initially played this heist when it first came out at the end of 2020, but ended up getting frustrated trying to go the "aggressor" route and failing repeatedly due to the game's aim-bot and (apparently) infinitely respawning enemies and just never went back to it...until now.

I decided to make an actual effort to complete this heist and scope out the island (with help from a Youtube walkthrough). Honestly, they couldn't have made this more obnoxious if they tried. I had forgotten just how annoying and time-consuming it is to scope out all of the gear and locations while constantly having to avoid detection from a million guards, all while my characters is tripping, stumbling, and getting caught on every rock, tree branch, or other object around the island. Apparently, I was so rudely made aware of by the game, is that if you sneak around the island long enough, an enemy chopper is sent out to patrol the island. So now, not only am I trying to figure out where everything is, I have to dodge being seen by a helicopter whose "vision cone" covers up large swathes of the island. Then, while scoping out some of the Secondary Targets, this happens:

Kiss. My. Ass.

I check the map to see the chopper bearing down on me, so I think "Great, I'm inside this warehouse so I can't possibly be detected since I'm supposed to be completely hidden from sight inside this f*cking warehouse". "Tut-tut-tut" says the game as it notifies me that I was "detected", "You can't hide from this enemy chopper, because this one can see through walls!" So not only do I do I not get thrown back to the beach party, but thrown off of the island entirely, to then have to game gleefully waste my time by having to go back to my sub to start another scoping mission, go back to the airport, sit through the cutscene of the plane taking off and landing in Cayo Perico, and then finally put me at the beach party where I have sneak past all the bullsh*t just to get to where I left off. This is why I completely abhor the stealth elements in this game. It's so clunky, inconsistent, and downright lazily implemented. I even tried to hide in another structure in a different location on the island while the chopper was active, making sure that it wasn't just some odd fluke that I may have been seen through some weird gap in the wall or roof by hunkering down way in the back so no one could have possibly seen me. Nope. If any part of that vision-cone touches you, that's your ass, no matter where you are.

Then comes the actual heist. I got to the point (eventually) where I was able to get in and out of the compound undetected, but actually escaping the island is a different story. Time after time, I just could not get all the extra loot without getting seen. I really wish they would have chosen a more vivid color for the enemy vision-cones, because the transparent light-blue color they have now is kind of hard for me to see on the radar, especially when it all blends in with the game environment. Sometimes I just couldn't tell who was facing where, and if they were moving or not when multiple enemies were in a close vicinity to one another. Finally, after getting detected yet again I just threw up my hands and booked it to the escape point without the extra loot.

I came back to this heist because I kept hearing so much about how lucrative it is for solo-players like myself, but I don't know I want to "grind Cayo" if it means having to deal with the world's jankiest stealth mechanics.

I really hate that color while I´m CEO that circle you get hides the vision cone perfectly when it is orange!

Honestly im not even getting my hopes up, they just asked me for the same details that i've already provided several times now, i really doubt asking Steam Support for these details again is somehow going to produce even more conclusive evidence? 🤷‍♂️

I really hope you get it back. If i were in your shoes I’d probably feel the same way.

So after another week of silence that was apparently spent investigating (with me waiting on a response from the Tier3 person that asked for those same details again) some Tier1 dude decided to merge the remaining ticket (the one ticket that was being taken seriously by some Tier3 guy) with one that was closed 2 weeks ago..? that Tier1 dude then asked me for the same details AGAIN, then 5 minutes later closed the ticket saying its been investigated and they cant confirm my claims...!??? Yeah right.

*Rockstar increased their Incompetence skill to level 100! its super effective!*

Please just stop... i already gave up hope several weeks ago, if Tier1's are the boss of Tier3's now, then please just f- off okay? i dont even want to know anymore. Would like to start forgetting about GTA as a whole now thanks, stupid support team.

Having given it some thought & having spent a little time investigating 'that side' of GTA, something like BigBaseV2 or YimMenu would make an excellent starting point for a community-built GTA:O cheat-protection-firewall-thing (both are cheats with full source code available, if you mess with these please understand that both me and GTAF have 0 accountability for your future actions) but do i really want to possibly get sued for doing the work that Rockstar was supposed to do literally years ago? im honestly not so eager to try this anymore, it seems wrong to 'award' their incompetence with a tool that their game so desperately needs.

If anybody well versed on these subjects (cheating & cheat-protection, R* legal shiz regarding both) reads this, i'd love to have a private chat about these things, hit me up over dm or something kthx.

It's... complicated to be sure, sadly the game is kind of a mess when it comes to communicating stuff to the player in effective ways.

For example treat the helicopter as a time limit that means you've run out of time for the scope out. I've only seen it the first time though and I explored the island a lot so I think it's just a first playthrough thing. And even if you're getting thrown off the island the game saves your progress so you don't have to go back and try again contrary what Pavel says. I don't know if this is different for the first playthrough, might be since that one's more unique.

I don't think the agressive approach is viable for solo play, really once you get detected you're most likely f*cked because of the infinitely respawning enemies, you can only succeed really if you're caught at the part where you have to escape since you can still shoot your way through to the nearest escape point usually and once you're in a boat the AI's aiming becomes bad. If you still want to try with being agressive solo then you should really poison the water supply during the scope out as that affects the AI a lot + go at night since their aim becomes worse in general. Still will be hard as balls.

And yep, sadly you have to learn a lot of the AI's routes and there will be a bit of trial and error involved (because bugs...) but if you approach it slowly it's not that big of a deal. Also if you want to have an easier time then the guard clothing can be really effective, I just did a run with that the other day and happened to record it and even with bugs and mistakes it was a very smooth ride:
