Well finally ran across a modder on the Xbox One last night. Came into a lobby with lots of active shooting going on and I blew up two cars, killing three or four people. Then I get a nasty message from someone and immediately my game freezes for a few seconds. Then it says everyone has left the session and I'm by myself. Apparently the guy kicked me from the session.

There were two other Oppressors flying around along with some aircraft. but I get kicked.

Literally every single f*cking session I play has multiple people using god mode glitches. I've also still experiencing english dave missions being glitched to where I can't complete them so his annoying ass will stop calling me. Do your f*cking jobs already and patch this f*cking game, you incompetent idiots at R*.

What happened to you may be a few possibilities that I can think of:

1) It was a failed DDoS attack that split you into your own session

2) If you have an VPN, it could have separated you into your own session to avoid the DDoS attack.

3) It was just Rockstar's servers.

4) He used a lag switch.

If any new players read this, PLEASE do not randomly place bounties on others over 100+ ranks above you without reason as you're just throwing away money that you should put towards good businesses, vehicles and weapons.

I'm not sure if I ever posted this before, and I can rightly be accused of really nitpicking here, but do the developers of this game realize that boats have a little thing called an anchor? Certainly boats like the Longfin, which costs over $1 Million when it was on sale! I only really noticed this with the Cayo heists, because I always do the Longfin approach. But it is really annoying to leave my boat at a secondary loot location, and then find that I have to swim a half mile out to sea, because the secondary loot gathering took just a little more than 30 seconds. And I know the devs would argue that this is realism, but I think it's absurd. Every, single person I have ever known who has ever owned a boat had an anchor for when they didn't want their boats to keep drifting while they were ashore, or stationary, like when you are partying or fishing.

Boats usually have anchors ...and motorbikes usually have wheels, welcome to the wonderful workd of GTA. 😉

Boats are badly under-developed in this game. When CP was first announced (or really even before, when it was just a rumor), I thought maybe they were finally going to show boats some of the love they have consistently shown aircraft and ground vehicles. The answer is, not really. Or not at all.

They added a few new boats, some finally with weapons. But those weapons are desperately underpowered in the Oppressor-dominated ecosystem, and as far as I know, none of them are armored. Yet at the same time they added the better-Stromberg (the Toreador). Why put in a more powerful version of an already-powerful amphibious vehicle while still not adding something as simple as an armored boat with homing missiles? For that matter, how about a weaponized dinghy where the pointless turret is a railgun cannon? Make the thing truly fear-inducing; the game is chock full of lethal hardware, and boats are stuck out on the water, for crying out loud. Why keep them so vulnerable?

At the same time, they have to know that a huge money-maker for them is customizable anything. I'm certain plenty of shark cards have been sold to people who wanted to mod up their guns, their cars, their arena vehicles, their hangar full of aircraft, etc. So why is boat customization still not a thing? I dreamt of an island with a private dock, and an interior where boats could be modded and stored; still waiting.

But beyond all that, the basic features that aren't there just seem like missed opportunities in a game world that is otherwise so rich. Lack of anchors, definitely. I'd also love to own a boat trailer, and be able to call for it and use it. Make it a Pegasus thing or whatever, and when I select it, let me then additionally select which of my boats to put on it. And if you really want to make my day, Rockstar, add some silly leisure activities to the boats. Add fishing and water skiing. (Before you make a face, fishing is legit fun in RDR2, and water skiing would be hilarious with friends and crew; just think about the opportunities to send your buddy flying.)

The Main Dock isn't too bad, it generally stays close to the shore and obviously you can park it there anyway because you are using the smuggler charade, but I dont stop there anymore, don't need to, I spawn heading for the Main Dock and swing left straight away and clean the airport out then just head for the drainage tunnel. Between the 6 tables at the airport it's very rare not to have a full bag.

If you park the boat next to the power station wall at the airport, there is a small rock visible just under the surface of the water. Park the boat between that and the shore and it usually not only stays there, it often starts bobbing towards you as you run back to it. Even if it does move a little, it's never far.

Park boat

Shoot guard from cover of power station wall

Disable power and cameras

Jump over compound wall

Run to the steps and headshot goon before he turns around

Empty the tables in the small shed

Over the wall and across the runway

Take out guard

Empty the hangar

Back to the boat

Blast to the compound looking out for Nessie

Wow, really well thought out post. As I was reading your comments about the boat, I was nodding my head, realizing for the first time consciously what I think unconsciously prevented me from ever using boats, unless I have to, or am doing something that requires them. Like the aforementioned Cayo Finale with the Longfin Approach.

I think the big problem with online is this, and its going to sound a little like conspiracy theory. I think that all the awesome toys, with the possible exception of the Arena War events are geared exclusively toward two classes of players. The griefers or the solo players. Solo is harder, however, since you really have to trick the game into putting you into solo public lobbies to run any of your businesses, or Invite Only rooms for all the stuff you can do there, like Heists, Preps, VIP missions, Terrobyte, customizing, and such. But it seems to me that with vehicles like Oppressors, and boats being, as you rightly observed, so absurdly vulnerable and indefensible against griefers, that those are the only two classes of players who benefit fully by the sort of paradigm structure of the game. I mean, if I am playing alone, in a peaceful lobby or solo public lobby, all those absurd tools, like the Oppressor MK 2 and other hated OP tools are fun. If I were a griefer, I bet all those tools would be a lot of fun, too.

But the middleground players who just want to hang out, do some missions, make some sales, maybe even meet a few friends along the way, have been almost completely squeezed out. So ether you're a money grinder, like me, who has no problem playing 90% of my time alone, or you are a griefer who tries to ruin the game for everyone around you. Because if not, then you get a lot less out of the game than, say, I do, playing alone. But also, you have to take what I am saying with a grain of salt, because I have never been a PvP kinda guy.

I don't disagree with your conspiracy theory at all. Consciously or not, Rockstar has played into that dichotomy more and more as the game has aged.

Weirdly, I am a different kind of in-between player. I spend most of my time setting up and doing heists with my friends; we run multiple island and casino heists every week, and lately have been knocking out the older elite challenges (just finished Doomsday act 1 this week).  But I do enjoy a little PvP, so what I usually do is drop into a regular public lobby and start doing heist preps until someone messes with me. Then I'll happily switch to murder spree mode for a while. In a way, I am both ends of the spectrum at once.

But when the game first launched, I was actually much more in the true middle. My original friend group and I spent tons of time messing around: spontaneous car races, gaining huge wanted levels and trying to drive up Mt Chilliad with the cops crashing into us, riding trains, bike stunting, robbing as many convenience stores in a row as we were able, and so much more. That goof-around version of the game fell by the wayside for me because of the design you point out. They seemed to stop caring for or catering to those middle-ground players. And I think that's a large part of why we don't have cool, useful boats or boat customization. Those things are not very useful to grinders or griefers. They're just... fun.

Im sorry i know most of you come here to B&M but what the actual f- lol, i use the MK2 bike exclusively for shooting down other MK2 bikes, lots of my mates use it for quick travel, the whole solo thing is something that doesn't happen nearly as much as you think (seriously so what if theres a bunch of guides? by far most people play the game in a multiplayer setting) and those middle-ground players you say no longer exist are actually the biggest group of players in every session????

Jeez people, we get it, some of you dislike some of the weaponized vehicles, thats cool, but doesnt mean you have to come up with weird stories about how the game is only played by griefers and solo players now, while you may somehow struggle with this idea (wich says so much more about you then it does about the rest of the players) most people can see how those weaponized vehicles are useful for more then just griefing.

LMAO Not sure why you're making this personal, but okay. I love the weaponized vehicles. I really do. And I do sometimes go into public rooms and wait for griefers to attack out of the blue, because that can be fun, too. I actually make friends in rooms, because sometimes people come to my aid against griefers and sometimes I come to the aid of others getting griefed. It's all part of the game. But as you said, this is the B&M thread, so I'm not sure what you're problem is here. I enjoy all facets of this game. You know sometimes you can complain about things you would like to see tweaked, but still enjoy said things. I play this game all the time. So any complaints should be taken with a grain of salt, since I am not some V-hating, GTAO-hating poster. I love the game. With and without the griefing.

Well, I didn't read it that way. He said "geared toward" which I think really is the heart of it for me. Lots of types of players are trying to do their thing day in and day out, but the ones having the most success and fun are either smashing up lobbies, or grinding solo. or MAYBE in friends sessions if they're fortunate enough to have a robust friend group or crew. And most of the content seems geared toward the grinders and griefers; the only other part of the player base that seems to get catered to are the racing and supercar fanatics.

The last big update I can remember that felt like it was aimed squarely at a casual, friendly middle was Lowriders. The first days after that update, I remember seeing a lot of people in tricked-out cars, driving them around and showing them off, and usually (though not always) not getting nuked right away. That passed quickly, and the updates that came after were pretty different.

If you ask me (not that you did!), the reason the game is yanked toward these two opposite poles comes down to design choices made before the game even came out. Public lobbies with at-will PvP and no friendly lobbies? Plus, later on, money-making content locked to public free roam, with PvP encouraged? Boom, that is a griefer's wet dream and a casual player's nightmare. And the sky-high prices of everything with constant influxes of new, ever-more-expensive content? That naturally created grinding as a lifestyle. The entire idea of playing the game in public sessions without 1) trying to make a bunch of money, or 2) trying to kill other players--it got marginalized by Rockstar's conception of what the game needed to be.

That GTA Online is still SORT OF all things to all players is as much a testament to the tenacity and imagination of the players as it is to the game itself. I think it sold a lot of us out, to be frank.

I played on the 360 for three years and I constantly saw modders booting players from the session. I have talked with a lot of friendly modders and they say they have that ability. This was the first time I saw it for sure on the XBox One. I saw a player during Arena Wars last week using a lag switch. His vehicle was jumping around the track and causing other players vehicles to explode. Like mine. Constantly. And his team still lost.

Could this be a result of the technology in the games do you think?

Obviously RDO is newer than GTAO - I made a point in another post last week how I honestly think GTAO should be overhauled with new mechanics, R* are 'patching' a game that is 8 years old and has had extensions added on to it a few times a year for the past 8. The mechanics, the basis of the game is still 8 years old and there will come a time where simply patching something won't be as good as a major overhaul.

Seriously, the ENTIRETY of GTAV - both SP and MP - needs a total overhaul. The driving (flying inc.) mechanics are.... fine I suppose, but y'all have already perfected them in another GTA title (wink wink GTA:SA /wink /wink), why did you half-ass the controls here? The entire FreeRoam public system of GTAO needs to be overhauled with separate session "groups" instead of the retarded Good/Bad Sport nonsense, where you choose whether you want to be able to kill other players or not ("Passive/Aggressive" lobby system where joining the Aggressive version allows you to treat FreeRoam like PUBG while the Passive version treats everyone like they're in Passive Mode), and your aiming preference being built around it (PvE/non-PvP-combat activities such as missions allows all players to play together regardless of their aiming preference while strictly PvP activities such as Deathmatches behave the same way they do now).

It's 2021 for f*ck's sake! There's no reason why the monkeys at R* can't do any of this.

Plus. my understanding of primates says that monkeys, no matter how well trained they may be, can't make wide-sweeping changes to the coding of a sophisticated videogame.

Thanks! Honestly, after doing well over 100 solo Cayo finales, I know all the tricks at this point. There is a rock, right where I enter the airfield, for instance, for secondary loot, that if you line up the boat, it can't drift further. Also, I have experimented with which way the boats drift, and sometimes if I just lightly tap the accelerator, the Longfin will move forward instead of backward, and end up sort of trapped on a little land, but like all GTA games, including GTA III, you can actually drive the boat back into the water if it ran aground a little. For secondary loot at the Main Dock and and North Dock, there are boats there in the slips, so I just generally abandon the Longfin and grab a Dingy or the Longfin sometimes parked there.

In all honesty, I was just complaining about the absurdity of such incredible attention to detail in so much of the game, while leaving out something obvious like an anchor. I probably shouldn't have whinged about the drifting a half mile away, lol, as that was just hyperbole, and hasn't happened since I discovered all the ways of combating this. :)

If you add somebody don't spam them invites to GTA when you clearly see them playing f*cking Hitman 3 or Red Dead. Just because I'm 1000 doesn't mean I'm eager to play everyday, f*ck off. If you catch me during the one day I log into the game for the week, sure I'll play but I'm blocking if you won't stop invite spams.

That's normal if you don't own a hangar at LSIA. Annoying little "feature." If you have a Zancudo hangar, when you call for a personal aircraft inside the base, it will spawn right in front of you.

Not to mention the ability to own 20 more personal aircraft. Rockstar is really missing a trick by not making it an option to own two hangars. I realize they didn't originally design it that way and a lot of code would need to be updated, but lots of players would drop many millions of GTA$ if they let us have more than one of these.

They really need to fix that crap, also because of the 2 nearby nightclubs, i have the further away one (the grey nightclub icon one) for my alt character & its super annoying and sometimes even happens with the CEO heli, for whatever reason vehicles love to spawn on the part where your mk2 bike spawned, or the part between your organization member and the further away nightclub, but the airport or the location of that nightclub are cursed. I've actually been trying to buy a different nightclub because of it, but the game keeps being an ass about that.

Wich leads me to my B&M of the day, ffs i sell all my nightclub cargo and instantly try to buy a different one and the game still goes "no f- you, go empty your nightclub cargo first", 3 times so far, what's up with this sh*t design 👎

also Personal Aircraft spawn there when I'm at the airport...

Yeah that whole area on Elysian and the terminal are really buggy with spawning personal vehicles sometimes. I have no idea why they spawn so far away, not even really close to being walking distance.

The Mallard Stunt Plane is f*ckING sh*t I hate it so damn much and need to express it

I have full flying stats and the thing STILL shakes more than a hula dancer's grass skirt if she were out in the freezing cold and had 20 coffees.

Going to try a Lazer next hopefully that can do a knife flight without having a f*cking brain aneurysm every time it goes slightly on its side

I can live with rocking horse tools, jet k/d farmers, combat rolling, jiggly suicide queens, being called a noob constantly (+ ruder messages), Orbital 1-0 ers who spend $750,000 just to "own" you, money begging, 1v1 at the beach requests and all the other day-to-day knobbery you encounter in the game. However, God Mode trash can go and sh*t up a rope.

That is all.
