This. They might not pay that much compare to the newer heists (especially CP), but they're still quite fun missions. The main problem, unless you're lucky enough to have three friends online at the same time, is the amount of waiting you have to do in the lobbies to get a full team. And if only one of them turns out to be a tool, you're going to have to try again.

 

I'm sure R* did realise this was the main issue with the OG heists and why every heist since can be done with 2 players or less.

 

But when you think about it, there is no reason why a lot of the OG setups couldn't be done with 2 players or less. On simple criteria, I think you could set a minimum player limit, without substantial recoding of the missions as follows:

Kuruma - 1
The Fleeca Job -2
Plane - 1
Bus -1
Station -2
Wet Work -2
The Prison Break - 4
Key Codes - 2
Insurgents - 2
EMP -1
Valkyrie - 2
Deliver EMP - 1
The Humane Labs Raid - 4
Coke - 2
Trash Truck - 2
Bikers - 2
Weed - 4
Steal Meth - 1
Series A Funding - 4
Vans - 2
Signal -1
Hack -2
Convoy - 1
Bikes - 4
The Pacific Standard Job - 4
 

In each case this would ensure there is at least one person on each "team" where there are splits, or enough people to bring vehicles back with return trips (which would technically be do-able, but I think would spoil the feel of the missions).

 

This would actually be incredibly easy to implement. All R* need to do is change one or two variable values in the scripts (game modes typically have an if statement that say they cannot start until number of players is within a fixed certain range, all you need to do is change that number. I actually did this for my Cops and Crooks mods in IV where I reduced minimum players from 4 to 2 so I could test out my modifications using my current and old PC before publishing them). CMM and loyalty bonuses would still require a full team of 4 consistently - that's fine. But I believe this would hugely boost the replay value of the OG Heists.

By the way, I have the opposite problem. I was doing the Valkyrie mission to test something, and while I flew ahead and started killing people, the Valkyrie arrived and my Sparrow accidentally locked on it while I was shooting. The Avenger disappeared into thin air. I try to get the mission back, but got the office mission 5 times in a row.

 

edit: So, for what I was testing: You have to board the Avenger, but last time I boarded it, it took off and I had to jump, and I was wondering if I forgot to kill the pilot.

 

edit2: nope, didn't forget to kill anyone, cockpit was empty when I boarded it, no merryweather around. So I board the thing, 2 soldiers in cargo hold, I grab weapons, Avenger takes off before I can get out.

When I parachute, Merryweather backup awaits me on the ground. At least I was able to borrow the Valkyrie.

Back to spawn killing Valkyries.

Err... why don't you destroy the Valkyrie after it lands (just wait to see the two targets on the map first)? Leave your heli near the Avenger (it's taking off verticaly), you go in, kill the 2 soldiers, jump out, chute next to your vehicle (it's not that hard), take off with it, sayonara. It's ez af, I can't understand you people complaining about it all the time.

The best way to do it is to park your submarine at Vespucci beach. If you get that mission launch a guided missile at the Valkyre, destroy it, then restart mission.

 

Do it until you get the one you want. It's way quicker than finding a new session and you usually get one of the office missions first or second try.

I wasn't complaining about how hard the mission is, I don't find it hard at all. I was complaining about how easy it is to screw it up by accidentally killing the Valkyrie a few seconds early.

In this instance, the game punishes you for trying to be smart.

 

I figured out where the Valkyrie was going, flew ahead, and started killing the people around the Avenger. Of course, I used my Sparrow for that because why not.

Then the Valkyrie arrived, I was still spamming missiles, and my Sparrow suddenly locked onto the Valkyrie, blew it up with one missile, and poof, the Avenger disappears.

Anyone who does air cargo or biker work is a mug. Its tedious, frustrating and pays poorly. I refuse to do the merryweather gun prep now because of the forced parameter of having to follow the Valkyrie which flies halfway across the map so slowly. It's akin to that dj mission where you have to drive the mule truck to the casino at walking pace or the champagne gets damaged. Not fun, not worth the time, which tbh is about 90% of gtao these days.

Over two months in and I still haven't bought a sub or even been to Cayo yet. It just looks meh af, doesn't intrigue me the slightest. Still crossing my fingers for LC in the future.

the biker sell missions are a good way to make $$ but the air cargo isn't worth it (it's so boring).

why is it when i get attacked (and killed) by randoms when i'm in my mc and my pv get's destroyed i have to pay for it's premium??

My god all you whiney mcwhinertons having a conniption over following a Valkyrie. The damn chopper only goes to one of 3 areas. When it takes off from Merryweather just go to the map and after it flies away a bit you can get a pretty good idea which way it’s going to go. Then fly up that way and snipe all the soldiers in the area and by then the Valkyrie should show up, finish them off, get your weapons and fly away. Jeez, do you want it just handed to you?  I didn’t like following the Valkyrie either but I figured out a way to do the mission, maybe you all should too.  Yeah I know this is the bitch and moan thread, but wow. Here’s some cheese for your whine.

You're bitching about people moaning in a bitch and moan thread?  That is even beyond the realms of rockstar type logic in its dumbassery. 

 

You wanna do a trashy boring mission like that, please, be my guest. I'll skip it thanks, just like l skip all the other time wasting junk rockstar feel the need to pollute online with eg the arena war grind, mc, smugglers run and the trillion lazy adversary modes.

 

I play the game how l want and the modes l want, not how you or anyone else, including rockstar, tries to dictate.

Got a call from Dave to get some pizza and bring it to Cayo Perico and I kinda want the free car on my male as well so I did it but when I got the bike to the airport and drove it in to the yellow circle I was put on a black loading screen that I have now been on for about 10 minutes.

Jesus Christ this game is completely unbearable sometimes. If you were to ask a casual gamer... An average -adult- who doesn't play video games much.. Sit in a public lobby and listen to the chat set to Everyone for 48 minutes.. They would lose their mind and have LESS THAN zero interest in GTA.. Forever imo

 

I had returned to freemode with a few friends after a Cayo Perico heist the other day... My god... The unintelligible dribble going on in voice chat.. People calling each other racial slurs, bombing themselves, screaming and yelling at anyone who dares even say "Hi" on the microphone.

 

All in All. I feel bad for new players. Maybe even worse for old players who still wanna play this game..

Knowing the locations does help.

 

But also, just park your CEO Buzzard where the Valkyrie spawns before you start the mission. It'll force the CEO office mission instead.

How would u know where it’ll spawn before you even start the mission? 
 

the thing i hate most about this game is glitchers, on ps4 and some guy had a bounty but was baited people to shoot him through the floor. I went to his blip 3x before i noticed he was sniping me through the ground or something. Couldnt even see him. I forgot to report him too but i hate those kinds of players

Doesn’t it always spawn ontop of Merryweather HQ down by the docks? I’ve never had it spawn anywhere else

For some reason I can't think of them right now, but there are a few instances where the game turns on all the mics even if your menu is set to "no-one." It's a really annoying glitch that pops up fairly frequently. The only way to mute anyone is to do it individually, player by player, in the pause menu, or to leave the lobby completely.

 

Anyone else experience this?

I personally cannot — for the life of me — stand the ones who just breathe through the mic in a race lobby. Like, there’s literally NO ONE else in the lobby with a mic. Why the f*ck do you have one on? And if it’s not incessant breathing or coughing, it’s some random loud ass background ambience or sh*tty earrape music. 
 

God forbid they give you an option to have anyone who’s not a friend automatically muted, no matter what lobby you’re in.

I did my first Import/Export mission in almost 2 years ... My infamous luck kicked it and I got the Barge mission of all missions. 

 

Of course it won't be an I/E mission without the Cargobob self-destructing before the delivery mission, which was Devin Westen's vila.

I remember back in cod black ops it took less than 3 seconds to mute someone, but in gtao it's the exact opposite, like oh pause game during race to mute them, brilliant lul
