That must be it, though it's a bit confusing when every player is red on the player list. Thanks!

Why do random casino heist hosts always play silent and sneaky or big con without having any f*cking idea what stealth is? Of course they also insist on getting a team of 4 noobs to maximize the chances of some idiot getting spotted by a camera or a guard. And of course they insist on never doing the duggan shipments so you can't even accidentally beat the mission just by shooting your way out

i done it a couple of times by shooting our way out after we got detected. You lose some money but it's not that hard if you done the duggan shipments by yourself. Do you play on PC?

Uh, sure, you can do this, but you only make it needlessly hard.

Most randoms I play with will get themselves shot, and restart to stay undetected.

Being able to continue after alarm is only a sneaky way from Rockstar to let us lose money on the casino heist, and most people consider alarm as fail+restart.

You get a checkpoint after the man trap anyway, and most people will take the closest entrance to the vault with randoms.

Not entirely true. It also lets you do things like get 100% of the gold with only two players--my friend and I routinely do this and fight our way out, and get paid 50-100K more apiece than if we'd left before the alarm went off. It also theoretically lets you save on your hacker by taking a cheaper option and PLANNING to fight, but you have to be careful here because if you skimp too much you simply can't get all the loot. The worst case scenario is cheaping out on the hacker, then leaving loot behind and having to fight anyway.

So it's more or less confirmed at this point that the submarine is the multi-million-dollar paywall you need to commit to permanently if you want to play the new update. Super. :sui:

Not surprising, given how 'buy expensive property that does nothing, just to do the new missions' is the usual deal with GTAO updates, but ...f***, can't we just roll up in a yacht instead? Or sneak up in a Kraken or Stromberg? Or even just operate out of a US Navy sub for the mission (or is Bogdan still floating around somewhere?), with the option to buy your own if you're so inclined (like how you don't use your own Kuruma for the Fleeca Job).

Not that it matter, though - I suspect that I'm not going to miss doing the missions, anyway, because it'll probably just be the same old scripted shootouts, rather than something more interesting (like being able to hide in plain sight like in Hitman, or do Metal Gear/Splinter Cell sneaking in the shadows). But it's still frustrating to think that R* could do something interesting this time (particularly since you can do everything solo), but almost certainly won't. :sigh:

Is it just me or is King of the Hill bugged as f*ck? Almost every time I join a match it puts me alone against the other 15 players. Please tell me I'm not the only one, I haven't found anything online

No, rockstar and there infinite wisdom in game design, has it where everyone switches to 1 team so players can become part of the winning team due to the payouts. But they don't know that time determines the payouts and the one person left on the other team quits 2 minutes in, and everyone gets a tiny payout. This is what happens when payouts determine what gets played in game.

Even though you better off getting $22k from headhunter in 3 minutes. :)

The problem is randoms never do Duggan shipments if you join random hosts that is

Partly due to the game looking pretty good by end-of-last-gen (360/PS3) standards, in terms of realistic lighting and materials - but the problem with chasing realism is that you'll only get so far until you hit tech/hardware limitations, and then it's just a matter of time before newer things can get closer to photorealism. That's why stuff like GTA V dates - same reason why Mass Effect 2 was jaw-dropping back in the day, but clunky by modern standards.

Makes me think that if any other company wants to attempt a GTAO-like, they shouldn't fall into the trap of trying to beat R*'s production values - better to come up with a rich, interactive city environment, but maybe go for a more stylised, cleaner art style, that'll still look distinctive in half a decade's time, rather than something that'll immediately date itself as 'good by 2020 standards' or whatever.

For example, something like Valorant, where you've got simpler details on models (rather than trying to show every frigging pore on the character - even though it is impressive when things like Horizon Zero Dawn do that), combined with shaders to complete that 'concept art in motion' look. There's also the added bonus of not having to worry quite so much about complicated hair/clothing physics simulation (or everything looking weird due to detailed models lacking hair/clothing physics - like GTAO) - it'd streamline asset creation and animation a fair bit, I'd imagine, which'd be extra-beneficial for an online game requiring periodic infusions of new stuff.

I can’t lie, I’m sick to my stomach of f*ckin sunny beaches, and stupid palm trees, and cayo perico just feels like it’s gonna be more of the same. It would be great if we could get a map expansion with an urban setting. Preferably at a different time of the year, maybe. liberty city, carcer, sh*t I could even deal with cottonmouth seeing as it’s an amalgamation of Atlanta, Memphis and New Orleans.

Which makes me wonder why. I mean, most randoms love blowig sh*t up. Duggan Shipments lets you do just that.

Only excuse for not doing Duggan Shipments is if you're either doing Gruppe Sechs Big Con or you have a very solid Stealth tactic with a solid team.

I would take the graphics from Saints Row or Saints Row 2 as long as it had good missions and was just fun to play.

That's all I want really in a game is fun and not made to to sale money cards.

And I wonder why most randoms I join play big con or sneaky. You'd think that aggressive would be the obvious choice for your average random. They sure treat every mission like it's aggressive

We had different fighting style sin GTA SA

In GTA IV we had jabs, body blows, uppercuts, knees, high kicks, mid spin kicks, dodging that actually required timing.

In GTA V we have idiots flailing their arms and fart kicks.

If melee fighting keep sidegrading liek this, we'll have stupid windmill punches in 6. Or something seen from a Soccer ball match...

Actually there are a variety of strikes in V like uppercuts,  headbuts,  elbows,  body blows,  etc but we cant choose which strike to throw.  Its completely random which is nonsense.  The defense is even worse since you cant block but only dodge.  No blocking?  Wtf?  lol  So you either hold dodge until they swing into it or spam the superpunch.  Just horrible meta.  smdh

Hence the reason why when you try to stealth kill an NPC your dipsh*t character will kick them in the ass instead.

Agreed. I for one won't jump straight into the new DLC, already made that mistake with Arena.

I am also not looking forward to a repeat of the casino heist, with all the bugs and disconnects. I have to restart my game every other time I get in the clouds after a failed casino heist, or a failed attempt to join one.

I'll give it a few days, wait for the reviews, and then decide if the update is worth playing.

I only read the next DLC speculation thread for the new tunables/discounts on Thursdays, because the newswire is always behind.

No kidding? I mean why wouldn't they to verify that it is in fact sh*t or nothing to holler about?

I think most of the folks "dissing" the DLC right now are just trying to humble their expectations. We'll be the ones who aren't surprised if it does in fact suck come this Tuesday. Meanwhile the folks who like to stroke Rockstar's ego as if they're stockholders will find themselves either bitching, forcing themselves to be content with what they know damn well is mediocrity, or will make excuses.

Meanwhile, if the update is great then I will be pleasantly surprised and will have little-to-nothing to complain about and will have a damn good time. This has rung true for every update since Arena Wars, because after that After Hours fiasco, I knew never to expect the most because they could always totally cock up.

I'm especially skeptical of this update because it is being hyped up as "the biggest" update and I'm just like "okay in what way? Music, expansions? What about cars, non-gimmicky things?" Etc. I'm skeptical. It's reasonable doubt and it's just so I don't overhype this sh*t like Rockstar wants us to so that I don't fall into their trap.

If this sh*t is good, damn right I'll be the first to play and get excited. If this sh*t sucks, damn right I'll dive in after I sleep-in a bit, to verify that it is in fact sh*t. And then I will f*ck off right back to my PC version of the game, which is far better anyway, and spawn the few vehicles we'll get (if the update sucks and if the car selection is in fact sh*t which yes will mean it sucks, if it's decent then no the update won't be sh*t and they won't be sh*tty) that y'all can't play with yet to further verify that they ain't sh*t. And then I'll return back to enjoying my superior version of the game and forget that this update exists. :^:

Ehh... I'll be jumping in. I have a stupid amount of money so why not, it's just virtual currency. As for AW, by the time I bought what I was interested in, figured out what was trash an what was fun to keep I was only down roughly 26 Mil. Easy to make back up.

As for this one, I'll buy what interests me. I may even play this heist (I hate heists) since it is the first you can do solo.

Seems like my NC's been hit by the south american goods bug, despite shuffling operators several times, still persists. A bug that's been in the game since AH released over 2 years ago, and C* has no intention of fixing.
