it seems to have happened more since I joined an Israeli crew with the Israel flag  in the bio but maybe it’s a coincidence.

 

There are also in most populated sessions at least one douchebag in a jet now and they never die so I can only assume they’re in godmode.

 

I also have seen in increase in cheap heist teleport behaviour of late...they’re entirely shameless.

Actually 6 different ones currently (and thats without the guy that made me post that,he gave up now that it has cost him 5 so called 'fake' accounts) and the comment (while made in a heated moment) is literally based on 20+ years of multiplayer gaming experience.

 

Either you don't know what its like on PC, or you prefer to look away/switch session when the cheats start, I've been reporting cheaters across a few dozen games for 2 decades (i legit hate cheaters & report them whenever/however I can, gta:o is the only place where i can kinda look away if the person isnt using their cheats to be an asshole, but that's only because otherwise i'd never get to actually playing the game anymore) and while the first 5 years it was mostly germans (good old days of early counterstrike lol) ever since its russians and chinese, and last few years russians amount to like 85% of all cheaters.

 

I stand by my statement, and the sad truth is that most older russian gamers agree, they can hardly enjoy games because of all the cheating children ruining it for the rest of the country. (I just b*tch about it here then move on, but lots of games have very active anti-russia clans/crews/guilds etc, or they even straight up don't allow russian players, that's not because people have a problem with russia, but its because of the cheaters and griefers)

I would say that the Bad Sport logic is my biggest bugbear of this game. It is almost a deal-breaker for me. Why this carry-over from 2013 persists in the game when more players than ever have access to "personal" armed vehicles is absolutely baffling. It can only be deliberate on Rockstar's part, because after almost seven years, it isn't an oversight.

 

As you say, you can be under sustained attack from multiple Oppressors, APCs, Ruiners, Strombergs, Lazers etc... and because they are now "personal" vehicles, defending yourself from these with the weapons given to you classifies you as the bad sport. It would be funny if it weren't so perverse.

 

The other aspect of Bad Sport points which is just backward is the allocation of them for leaving jobs, specifically races. The damage-related vehicle performance in the Open Wheel class races in particular are a recipe for disaster. Those who get obliterated at the first corner have seen their chances of winning flushed down the toilet, so with nothing to lose, they begin looking to take everybody else out. So when I get rammed head on at over 100mph, sending my car hurtling over the barrier to break up into a million pieces, my race is over. I'm not going to limp around the track and then spend another ten minutes racing for sixth or seventh place, so I leave. I mean, these races aren't Arena Wars, they aren't a destruction derby, but they might as well be.

 

But I'm the bad sport if I back out from the carnage.

It's even worse when you realize that you get punished for destroying someone's weaponized vehicle in self defense while in the middle of a sale, but not when doing VIP Work like Headhunter or Fully Loaded (hence why people use them to grief freely).

 

Like, what gives then? Should I just let them destroy my sale? Should I be extra careful to kill them but not destroy their vehicle, which is next to impossible if they're in a jet?

 

And they have the gall of porting this game to next gen, even when it barely works! The nerve!

It's been a niggle since day one, but while trying to update my outfits with a few purchases from the casino clothes selection I reached boiling point the other day. Why bother telling me such and such isn't compatible with my current outfit? WHY?!?! Does that happen in real life? When you're in a shop, are you not allowed to try a watch on if you're wearing a long sleeved shirt? Can I not buy a coat if I'm wearing a t-shirt? Am I not allowed to look at a jacket if I have a polo sh*t on? Why does changing the colour of my shoes mean I have to wear grey jogging bottoms?!?! AAAGGGHHH!!!

It's just bizarre. I can understand the principle of bad sport points for wrecking unarmed personal vehicles, even if that is a residual thing from 2013 when the Freemode lobby was simply a place to hang out whilst waiting to join a job lobby. There was little else to do but customise cars and drive them around.

 

Fast forward six years and the public Freemode lobbies are now full of personal armed vehicles, with the main gameplay taking place within the lobby. So the idea of bad sport points being given for destroying them is not only dated, but it flies directly in the face of any reasonable, right-thinking or fair game rules.

 

How, for example, can an on-foot player trapped in a multi-story car park who uses the explosive sniper rifle to rid himself of a personal jet that has been continually strafing him for ten minutes be the bad sport for doing so? It sounds like a real whine, but it is totally unfair. Believe it or not, I want to play like this, I don't mind. I just don't want to be penalised for defending myself. I am constantly checking my player status in the menu to ensure that I retain the "Clean Player" status.

 

And again, how can the real bad sports of racing (in a race mode that was sold as the elite / prestige of races) who just wreck the race get away with it, whilst the exasperated players who just think "Okay, I'll leave you to it" and back out, get the bad sport points?

Since when did they patch killing yourself on casino heist? f*cking big con some noob starts early or whatever the f*ck they do to cause someone spawn under the server farm (luckily not me this time) .... I try be smart after begging him to quit for 2 mins. Climb up a ladder and jump off the roof..... Character automatically pulls a parachute so my EWO fails. Wtf is this sh*t

 

Add. I mean that's gotta be deliberate coding right? Nowhere else does character auto pull a parachute? So why on the one heist you may have a genuine reason for wanting to top yourself..... Looks like I'm back to drowning myself... Which takes way too long

I think the idea is, if you play the game enough to end up in bad sport by mistake, you are addicted and must be punished for that sin. Either learn/play by the dirty tricks. Enjoy bad sport for what it is. Or just salute rockstar for the mentally unstable people they must be/want honest people to be.... 

 

I don't see how I can say it much fairer than that, they want players, fans, sharkcard buyers. But when it comes down to anyone who complains about ANYTHING valid it's like meh just go do a glitch or something and disappear.... I'd love to see them separate bad sports from clean via patches. God mode? Nope not in bad sports kid. Titan sale glitch? Only in bad sports kid. Give people incentive to go one way or the other and have done with it.

 

Would be really interesting to see how they real big griefers like it when they find godmode didn't work in badsport, so they are having to deal with fair play in good sports or lose godmode in bad? Would they change behaviour? Could also do something crazy like kill a player 20-0 you get a auto 100k bounty on head. Just mash it up a bit make the game funnier

That reminds me. For some bizarre reason, you can't equip the Desert scarf with the long sleeved prison guard outfit, but you can with the short sleeved prison guard outfit. What gives?

Absolutely agree, and R* have shown they know and that it truly is deliberate too when they halved the insurance fees on some vehicles.

 

It's very much on purpose as I feel R* know the younger players just can't not blow up another's car/toy and it see's kids run out of money faster so they can hit their folks up for extra pocket money to pop in T2's bank. 

 

The BS points too, as these kids then end up in a lobby where it's even more likely they'll be wasting their cash blowing up allsorts.

I wouldn't worry too much. I deliberately tried to get into BS to see what it's like last month and it was a heck of a grind as it was trying to find 50 PVs to blow up and to hit the threshold and actually get BS. From what I understand it's 50 PVs in a 48 hour period (not gameplay time, actual time) as the BS points start dropping off after 48 hours so unless you are deliberately trying to get in or are a completely brain dead griefer going on multiple un-protected (by VIP work/cargo purchase missions etc) rampages it's easily avoided.
