Anyone know what the record is for being dumped to story mode due to "network error"? Got dumped twelve times last night in two hours.

I think my record is a few hundred times just in the last month alone...

God damn it's annoying, the number of times I've been in first place with just under 200 meters, only to have someone with a mk1 pip me at the end with some half way across the map distance.

I only did it right after completing an MC club mission and it was well underway - I didn't even expect it to work.

Now it's just a mild annoyance, the first time it happened to me, I hadn't played in ages and didn't know the mk1 was a thing and thought the bastard was cheating somehow haha

just logged on today and found the remain of a player rampage, he just got killed and I found one cop walking away from the scene, I kept following him to see what he would be up to.

Its been 5 minutes since I started following him then out of nowhere, came a depressor user that killed me. so I called in my own opressor,

As I chased him he went and destroyed some players cargo and I killed him. I was so pissed at this dumbass that as soon as I killed him I left the game cuz he litteraly made me wanna quit this game.

moral of the story

GTA online is a clusterf*ck full of morons who considers killing low-levels a fun thing to do.

It's like they take pleasure out of constantly making you drive across the map.

Had to do this sell mission with 2 marshalls. I have the paleto bay bunker. and some dumbass with opressor mk2 (thankfully didn't have the rockets) was following me.

that was the most stressful 15 minutes of my life, atleast I made it with 20 seconds left on the clock.

Driving along in my Cognoscenti and a muscle car pulls out on me, wrecks himself, gets thrown across the road and dies from the impact, i lose no health and there's a small scratch on the cognoscenti, got what he deserved, the NPC's are crazy, not really a moan but considering he could have damaged a vehicle cargo.

It always brings a smile to my face when NPCs get off worse than me in an accident which they caused.

Why is Cockstar so scared of letting us fight or use weapons on NPCs in passive mode? I was trying to take some photos of my car in passive, but some c*nt NPCs decided that they want to fight me. I couldn’t do anything because you can’t engage in combat whilst in passive mode. Why are they such dumb f*cks?

Because GTA online is a jungle apparently.

But really it's because r* doesn't want players that aren't making money to have fun.

If you and your friend come at me, unprovoked, both in MK2s, then you're getting f*cking griefed til you leave or go passive.

I don't give a f*ck if you go across the map, come out of passive and try to run cargo, thinking the fight ended 20 mins ago with me 14-0'ing both of you.

You better believe its not over.

Trying to host deathmatches. And you get the players who are stuck in the clouds, "joining".

This problem is a plague. It just f*cking ruins lobbies. And the players don't have enough sense to realize they're stuck in the clouds, and they just let it keep going. I've been sitting here over 10 minutes with a full lobby, just waiting for a dumbass level 60 to realize he's stuck.

EDIT

And one leaves, and another joins who has the same problem.

HOLY f*ck, I JUST WANNA PLAY A MATCH

I know this has been mentioned before, but f*ck it it's been annoying me the last couple of days. When doing business stuff that requires us to be in public lobbies, why the f*ck do we have to try to fight off NPCs while also keeping an eye out for players deciding to do what the game tells them? Choose one threat Rockstar, do you want us to PvP or PvE, because both with the current insane aim of the NPCs is f*cking bullsh*t.
On another note, why did Rockstar stop us from accessing missions from the menu when in solo lobbies, there are missions that can be done with one player, just let me play the goddamn missions.

I think you have to do closed friend or invite only lobbies now.

Just had to source a vehicle that was fitted with a bomb, it was parked in an awkward drive on Vinewood Hills, I physically couldn't get it over the required speed in time to stop the bomb detonating. What was the f*cking point of making the pick up point there

The NPC traffic would be so much better if they just outright removed the "Dodge out of your way" AI. That'd at least make the trafic more predictable and idiotic NPCs wouldn't try dodging into you on certain curved roads and turns.

And maybe only make them panic when bullets hit their cars. They should be used to the Los Santos Lunacy by this point.

Or maybe it's because using weapons in passive mode would make your status non-passive... i.e. aggressive.

There's a thread called "The worst of Rockstar logic" and I think "Letting players use weapons while they are in passive mode" would have made it into that thread if it was possible. How would you stop players from hitting other players with throwables they threw at an NPC that was stood next to you? What about *accidental* stray bullets?

If you're looking to redefine the meaning of a word in the English language to mean something it isn't... I don't think that's on Rockstar when you can't. Blame them when they do something wrong but don't just blanket-blame them for everything. Player logic is a thing too...

I've had one spawn up at the power station up behind the dam - on the dirt road.  I had no chance of even getting clear of the area...

On the passive mode thing, it would be easy to reprogram it so that if a player is in "passive mode", the game instead puts on the "friendly fire disabled" flag between them and all other players.  This would allow people to defend themselves against AI when stuff happens.

f*cking cringe.

Depends on your definition of what a griefer is fella. I get called a griefer for stealing Haulage trailers or for defending Headhunter targets and Torched crates.

Some people will try to kick and report you as a griefer these days for even the slightest hint of engagement with them.

Ah - the ultimate "get out clause" for griefers...  "But the game tells me to do that..."

The reason people do Haulage, headhunter or Torched is to make enough funds to actually get started on the other stuff - and blocking people from doing that is only going stop them from enjoying the game when it happens every single damn time - forcing more and more people into solo public lobbies or into other games entirely.  When people are doing sell missions, you could be costing them anything between 50k and a million - and what do you get out of it?  Something like 2,000 and a little bit of RP.  Is it really worth costing someone a million when you're only getting a couple of thousand for it...?  Is that 2,000 worth driving other people away from actually interacting with ANYONE online at all?

Don't get me wrong - I don't mind the occasional loss when selling stuff - but when I was starting out it would happen EVERY SINGLE TIME because at the time I didn't know how to make solo public lobbies and no matter what I did there was a Mk2 or Jet griefer who just focused on me specifically for 20+ minutes and wouldn't even let me move 5 feet until I worked out how to get into Passive mode - which in turn prevented me from doing ANYTHING to make money.  On the times I was left alone it would only be when I wasn't doing missions and was literally forced to do nothing but rob 24/7s for money for the first few weeks.

No griefer goes after someone because the game tells them to do it and certainly no-one does it for 2k.

Whoever said that to a grinder was just trying to wind them up.

Unless someone has targeted me, I won't blow up their cargo or spawn kill them repeatedly.

However, should we all just go about our sell missions in peace and not interfere with each other?

Perhaps, but this isn't the sims and I'd wager that if anyone says he prefers easy sell missions over and over and over VS that one time where someone came after him during a sell mission, but failed to kill him / blow up his cargo, is lying. I've been on both ends and the latter is ultimately more exciting and rewarding.

There's no need to be in a public lobby to make money. Jobs exist for a reason.

However, you want the high rewards sales, so they come with high risk.

Believe me, I've been a grinder since day one and still am, but I understand the other side of the argument.

I second what @Big Molio said. I got called a griefer for taking someone's bounty last night.

Some people have no concept of what true griefing really is.

Then it's unfortunate for those that choose to sell in public lobbies that don't enjoy an occasional battle during a sell mission, that the practice continues.

People will never learn.

Passive to other players my dude. This system already works with securoserve body guards, you can't hurt them, they can't hurt you but they can still use weapons. Hell, it's worked ever since the beginning with contact missions and survivals.

Anyone else find it annoying when you're in a deathmatch and another player has an up n atomizer? I'm not talking about when you're able to use all your weapons, I'm talking about ones where you're forced to use a certain weapon and somehow they have one of those.  I think it's a glitch.

You’re right, it was a completely pointless change to make.  Sometimes I wonder what goes on in the paranoid brains of the bean counters at the top who pull the strings.

Why not allow sell missions in public lobbies in passive mode?  Just take away the full lobby bonus.  It would encourage more players to fill the lobbies and would eliminate all the NAT test lobby duplications which I’m sure have to slow down their servers somewhat.
