For no reason at all IGN responded to a random joke i made in one of their RDR 2 videos and i accidentaly got information about the NPCs lol

 

"The NPCs are very chatty. During our demo, we were messing around in camp, and this awful woman came up and was like "ARTHUR MORGAN, YER NOT PUTTIN YER FAIR SHARE IN THE CAMP'S FUNDRAISIN' JAR, WE CAN'T HAVE NO FREELOADIN', Y'HEAR?" and we had the option to engage her, or just go "NOT NOW!" -- that doesn't sound super immersive, but none of it was through dialogue trees or anything that broke the flow of gameplay. The lines are blurred between all the different components of gameplay, so it's more of a holistic experience, rather than a handful of different mechanics like shooting, talking, riding, shopping, etc. -Max"

For me personally the Hands-on impressions by Brandon Jones, John Ryan and Jared Petty resonated with me the most and I love how passionate and thoughtful they presented the information.

Not my idea btw I saw it in the old thread but couldn’t quote it! It’s a great idea tho. I am so happy we can have more than one horse and that we can name them. I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to dumb sh*t like that 😂

I wonder if we get a game over screen if we try to kill "essential" npcs like john and dutch

Looking closer at the gif, I think you are right regarding your analysis of the behavior. I really hope that they have dialed the "settings" in CTaskNMBehaviour all the way up. In my GTA V I was able to force the peds to react to each other, in a much more almost domino effect type way. This also leads to peds fleeing falling over each other, stumbling over dead bodies, and as you can see in my video having a threshold that is so low that any physical player-ped/ped-player or ped-ped interaction produces a visible result.

 

And okay, I know that this is a bit off topic, but since I have just found a fellow modder, allow me to indulge and share this video too. 

I was able to completely redo how drivers and their driving style react to events.

In vanilla, the AI driver can only remain in the shocking-events swerve task for one third of a second. Not anymore. Heh. 

 

 

Dang, didn't know there was a way to change that, too. I figured that it was just built into the engine like most values were. Sort of also adds to my point that a whole lot of stuff that was hardcoded into the engine before became customizable with GTA V. I hope that Rockstar utilizes the overhaul they made to it's fullest extent in RDR2. 

 

By the way, this is off topic but if you have a decompiled version of the tunable files, there's a whole lot of behaviors that are either cut or hardly used. If you check out the crimetasks.ymt, there's a section that controls whether there may be NPCs that may try to randomly hijack vehicles. It's used ingame but only for when vehicles don't despawn after a while. There are settings for it that also allows you to set if they hijack the players vehicle. I haven't got that part working, but if I worked on it a bit more I could get it working.

Let’s get one thing straight, Euphoria itself won’t be returning because it was sold to a mobile gaming company. That doesn’t mean the physics won’t be great and Euphoria like tho

Game won't let you aim at friend npcs and if you somehow kill them in a mission it will be  the usual "you killed person" game over screen

Just to put the "The player decides to move the camp"-theory to rest:

 

"Now we ride to the tent icon on the map, where our camp is located, our base. During the game we change the location several times, though it is bound to the story. The players don't decide it themselves."

Any mention of the small camp for quick-saving, wardrobe changing, and fast traveling like in the first game?

I loved it. I can't imagine them changing the control scheme that much from RDR, but obviously adding the new features.

There's one thing though, in the start up screen for GTA V, it says "Copyright NaturalMotion 2008."

NaturalMotion was the company that made Euphoria and got bought by Zynga, that mobile gaming company you talked about. 

The thing is even though the game was first released in 2013, it still said "Copyright 2008" instead of "Copyright 2013." I think that might be because Rockstar I think may have bought a full license for it, which costs a lot of money. If Zynga tried to stop Rockstar from using it, wouldn't they be basically breaking the purchase agreement that Rockstar had when they bought the license? Wouldn't that leave them open to a lawsuit or something?

Hehe. I not only have all the tunables, I have a complete set of the latest dav90 pso ymt dump, and I also actively bruteforce unknown hashes with a collider. Also I have a library of dump documents of ptfx, anims, speech, vtables, Cclasses, scenariopflags, all kinds of stuff.

 

Back to RDR2, I am really looking forward to see how the fire effects and the fire propogation system in in the game. I felt it was kind of lackluster in GTA V, so I decided to build my own system from scratch.
