_"But dying was the opportunity to discover the system of respawn of Red Dead Redemption 2, reminiscent of that of GTA V, with the difference that in Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur Morgan returns to life with his back to the wall of a house not far from his place of death. For a better sense of detail, the character will reappear with the signs of the last fight showing. For example, if Arthur Morgan loses his hat during the fight, he will respawn without his headgear, forcing you either to return to the scene to pick it up, or to buy a new if it's no longer there. Losing your hat will be common in the game. Being struck with a rifle butt, falling on horseback or being hit by an enemy fire will make you loose your hat. necessary information to remain "aware".

I was curious about this and no one else had mentioned it yet. Thanks.

If we're going down physics road again, then you might wanna turn off and head here:

I still dont know if that dismemberment is dead eye locked or not

Yeah that was a bit confusing how it was talked about. Though it wouldn't make much sense to lock it to that.

Is it in stores?

Yep. I've seen a few folks on my timeline who picked up a few issues. lol

Also that new thread smell.

So what's next week gonna bring us.

I'm sure there'll be another feature added to the RDR2 website

I'm not sure if we'll see the 2nd part of the gameplay video next week though, I'd say the first week of October is more likely.

This might sound a bit technical, but it's kind of a big deal to me. What I REALLY hope for, is that the IF the peds/people in the game have Euphoria "brains and nervous systems" AND Rockstar still use their propriertary Fred/Wilma Rage Ragdolls, then I can't overstate how important it is to me that Rockstar has remembered to LOWER the Euphoria ActivationImpulse threshold this time around.

In other words. A simple nudge should be enough to trigger a reaction. Not a big reaction. But a reaction nevertheless. In GTA V the vanilla ActivationImpulsethreshold was really high, and the total number of NatualMotionAgents was only 3. That was the core reason why you had to run into pedestrians to make the budge, and that walking or running into people during combat or other events VERY rarely triggered a Euphoria reaction. To me it would let me down if Rockstar once more raise the threshold in order to either prevent "bugs" or to save system memory. I would rather experience a couple of dips and the occasional clipping, than have a non-ballistic impulse physics system similar to Assassin's Creed or the Far Cry series.

I also hope that IF CtaskWrithe (the way pedestrians in GTA V rolled over and died in seconds, regardless of their game health or where they were shot) is still in their code, it will not trigger automatic in all circumstances. Only people who later modded GTA V on pc, got to experience the InjuredOnGroundTask Euphoria system, that was RIGHT beneath the boring and predictable CtaskWrithe activation.

So to sum it up.

In RDR2, people getting shot should only fall down naturally, and limp and stuff. I also hope that the same system that controls how the transfer of momentum through bullets move the person, also will remain activated during every other people to people interaction.

And finally, to show you a bit of what I am talking about, instead of just writing a wall of text, here is a video showing GTA V with a much lower activation threshold,  that I just made testing some new jumping velocity edits in GTA V.

Enjoy

Finally someone who knows what they're talking about regarding Euphoria.

I've been lurking the old thread and now this new thread for a while and I keep seeing people claim that "Euphoria won't be RDR2." Having been working on a mod for GTA V's ragdoll physics for the past 10 months now, you tend to learn some of the nuances of the system, figuring out which NMBehavior does what and where you should put it in the physicstasks.ymt.

GTA V's euphoria, compared to its predecessors, was unremarkable and a bit bland: the dead corpses didn't blend into a ClipPose (how the body poses while on the ground) and often they would instead relax into what vaguely looked like a t-pose.

Its real charm laid underneath its hood however. It had been completely overhauled compared to how it functioned in the past, and it allowed you to customize it to a further degree than say GTA IV's, which would make it easier for the physics programmers to add stuff to it.

The second that we saw that staggering corpse in the Gameplay trailer I knew it was back, because it resembles the shotFallToKnees behavior with the armsType set to full (basically as the body hits the ground, the arms push the body up a bit before going limp). In one of screenshots we'be seen a NPC who was shot actually reach for their wound, which often didn't happen in GTA V due to a glitch in the "upperBodyReaction" code line which instead caused the arms to go to the side.

Euphoria is without a doubt back, already better than GTA V's, and it also appears to blend into poses like before which leaves me satisfied with it so far. Most of the people claiming it's not back haven't got any experience working on it to speak of, so how would they know if its back or not?

I can't wait to see what happens when people get hit by a train!  Horse trampling could be pretty gruesome too.

Okay, so the mp3 style combat dive has now been confirmed by 2 additional sources. So yeah. It's in there.

I'm pretty pumped about this.  I believe the Red Dead 2 o'clock guys said you can even do it in Dead Eye when everything is slow, so it could be even more like Max Payne shootdodging.  But I would be happy even if it was a simple dive with no time slow down.

I'm guessing diving will be in RDO as well. THIS IS GONNA BE FUN

You're judging by a short footage of one kill that rdr2 will have the best physics in any r* game. The worries are legit, stop going full nuts because we care.

Also animal mauling. Grizzly, the yet to be seen cougar and if they keep it real, moose which I think are the deadliest wild animal in North America.

It looks awesome yes but isn’t really exclusive to the euphoria engine. It could be achieved with regular rag doll physics.

I heard they have more previews but they cant talk about it yet. Might come after part 2 then.

More previews? DAMN, I hope there's still lots of surprises left for us when we finally get to play this masterpiece.

But given there's so much stuff that has been discovered in an hour of playtime, geez ... it's enormous!

Wow, where did you hear that? They took a lot of inspiration from Breath of the Wild, didn't they?

Thank you. The reason I’m “worried” is because we thought euphoria would be amazing in gta v as well and look what happened. Now, I’m 99% sure it’ll be awesome and look amazing. I would just like to be 100% sure, that’s all :D

it’s my most wanted “feature” in the game and GTA V f*cked with that.
