When you preload the game, does it also download the day one patch? I'd hate to have the game unlock at midnight only to wait a few couple more minutes to download a possible 3-5 GB update file.

Day one patches release on release day, hence the name "day one patch".

On PS4, yes. If you leave it in rest mode you should be gucci, otherwise make sure you start the download for it before midnight.

 

If I remember I'll throw out a reminder for any PS4 digital buyers come launch.

You're right, I did some research (as I should've done before asking) and it says that Sony allows preloading day one patches but it only installs on the release day. Anyways thanks for the info.

Of course that's assuming there will be one, they might not need a day 1 patch at all.

I think Valentine may be where this image is from. Livestock town, where you go to buy sell Horses (other then Wild ones you can tame, take them then sell at Valentine?)

 

Adding: The narrator says Towns plural. Maybe there's different small hubs or this is a section of Valentine they are displaying as an example??

There's more to the map than those locations. I think they only revealed leaked states and towns. They didn't include the desert we saw in the gameplay trailer.

I bet Valentine will be the Armadillo equivalent in this game. Meaning it will be that classic western town and sorta a "hub" for the online where you'll find most people. Also I believe the early tutorial missions will take place here.

But if you can legit steal livestock and then sell them on...I would lose my sh*t, imagine you a few other members off the gang rocking up to a ranch in Valentine late at night!

Somebody mentioned this a couple days ago so I thought I’d echo their comment... Is this an engagement/wedding ring of sorts on Dutch in Red Dead Redemption? It could also be something that probably represented his new gang during that game. Now, we all know Red Dead Redemption II wasn’t even thought of during development of the first one obviously but could Rockstar have gone back and “play” on the idea that this ring could be something that really meant something to Dutch considering it’s wrapped around a necklace on his neck? Did this man really have a thing for Molly O’Shea then and whatever events happen to her that we’ll see in Red Dead Redemption II will still haunt him some 12 years later?
