Seems the OPM is mostly just rehashing old info

So does my Uncle but he’s sh*t faced walking around the HQ doing absolutely no work.

I got all you guys beat.  My cousin's cousin's cousin delivers pizza to Rockstar devs on second shift, and it gets real crazy at the end of scrum, or when they're getting ready for a big review.  So he knows the cycles.  He can tell by the mood and comments of whichever dev comes down to the lobby and tips him and picks up the pizzas, how things are going.  Also, by how many late night pizza orders there are in a row, leading up the the deadline.

In the early, creative stages, the devs are happy and enthusiastic.  Not too many late nights; not too many deliveries.

My cousin's cousin's cousin can tell when it's getting close to the game's first announcement trailer, because the devs are working long hours on a short fuse to hardcode some crap that isn't working yet, and they get real cynical, and they complain about all the rework they're going to have to do.

Later in the project, he's seen this cycle like three times, there are about three months of total crunch, the lights are on all night, the devs who meet him in the lobby are completely wasted and their attitude is like f*ck it, f*ck video games, and especially, f*ck the damn managers.  About 6 weeks after this phase, a game release delay announcement goes out, into the next year.

Then when he sees this same cycle again, about 3 months before the new game release date, the devs are even more burned out and pissed off.  Some of them ask how well the pizza delivery business pays, and are there any openings right now?  This is when hears the juicy clues as to whether there's going to be a final "polishing" delay, or not.

I haven't talked to my cousin's cousin's cousin for about 8 months, so I can't tell you what he's seeing and hearing now.  Sorry no info.  😛

🤔😮 Honestly, I'm not even bothered by this. If they really don't wanna give out tons of info the game is so close anyways just drop the trailer and I'm all good. It's cool seeing it in the magazine regardless with the images and lots of text imo..

Oh shiiiiiit!  Thnx

Still gonna be an interesting week for sure. Maybe OPM has more pages than what was shown? At least that's what it seemed like

I was starting to get a little pissed, until I read the last sentence on that first scan: "Luckily our itchy trigger fingers are in for a treat, as we'll be getting hands-on next issue just ahead of RDR2's release. Yeehaw."

So that's just from the current issue, not the upcoming one.

Hmm. This is very intriguing to say the least. That's definitely legit but both articles mention that we need to "prepare for the full blowout September 25th" which makes sense that that isn't all there is with what we just saw?? And PU confirmed they played the game but are under embargo which must have been pretty recently\new info. We will see though.. either way hang in there guys. We know no matter rehashed info or not (I don't think it's only that way) R*is gonna update the RDR2 site and drop gameplay part 2... Someday soon™ we will see

Got worried there for a second until I realised I had seen the page with the button prompts on it before. How ridiculous would it be if they actually used screenshots from the gameplay trailer for their big hands-on preview?

In case people get confused: OPM is similar to EDGE, they print 2 months ahead. So we're looking forward to the November issue. The October one came out last month.

^ that's what I thought. Then rockstarmag had an article about "should we fear lack of info on RDR2? And claimed that the PlayStation UK preview is canceled like what?? Maybe edge was yeah but PlayStation already confirmed a gift for RDR2 and their release for the mag. Damn people and their rumors make the situation confusing as f*ck. Anyway, little theory here. So that clearly is literally just a preview of what's to come from OPM, but I think R* plans on showing gameplay part 2 this week and then some images from the trailer will be in the OPM blowout on top of new screens maybe... Would make sense as to why there's no new images in this preview of the issue coming out next week, they aren't allowed to just yet

I might be the only one who doesn't get excited/hyped about these magazines/previews. I only care about what comes straight from R*. Might be because that way I can make my own opinions instead of reading about other ppls.

Agreed in a way on the last part. I always form my own opinions, reviews and whatnot are never the end all be all for me. I can tell if the writer is being legitimately passionate tho about the game which must be good. Or is bullsh*tting whatever was wrote about. Bandwagoning on other people's opinion and whatnot is never my thing. Example shadow of the tomb raider hasn't gotten bad reviews per se, but a lot of reviewers have shat on it because it's "more of the same" but that's why I like it. They already added a few new things and a beautiful jungle. If it ain't broke don't fix it ya know? It's my favorite of the series so far, just as an example. Point is though people always make your OWN opinions.

Yeah, that's wrong ... but, let's hope you have a pre-nup that allows you unlimited video game hours.  For the sake of the marriage.  😜

In all seriousness, yes. As much as I love RDR2, being with a woman a good one at that when the time comes (eh eh? Like my reference?);) I would be more about her. Gotta make time for your S\O and if they're the right one she will even enjoy RDR2 with you or at the very least be happy seeing how the game means a lot to you, her seeing you happy both from her and other things should be good enough in the case I'm saying.

Rest assured they won't be rehashing info , and they clearly said "hands-on" details. And they also promised a gift!

The guy at rockstarmag ends his article with this : See you on September 25 for other information and lots of new! PlayStation promises it.

I get what you are saying but I respectfully disagree. I have been with my partner for 14 years. We have 2 children and she is not the slightest interested in my gaming. She still couldn't be any more right for me. It's okay to have different interests.

Amusing reading the replies on R* Twitter feed...

Here's some GTAO stuff R* post..

"Rockstar, I’m going to lay it out for you. RDR2 is coming out in only 40 days, LET GO OF GTA 5 ALREADY AND START ADVERTISING RDR2!"

Made me chuckle.....

A lot of people make jokes about Rockstar laughing at their comment section, but I think they really do. Some of the stuff we post is hilarious I really picture them just flat out rolling and bursting out laughing! I always picture that screenshot of all the old white guys laughing and it usually starts off with And then I told them whatever the subjects is but it's hilarious.

I think your username is where the problem starts lmao. All jokes aside, you're lucky you're not getting married around the launch period. Imagine going on your honeymoon and dying to get back home to play. Talk about torture.

Congrats. :) I just said that more out of context than anything else to get the point across. Of course it doesn't mean they're not "the one", if they don't like everything you do. That's normal and healthy to have different interests, but what I'm saying is whether she likes it or not even a little bit or even hates it, the right person will support whatever you like JUST because they like seeing things make you happy they won't put you down for being excited for RDR2. Not literally she has to like gaming or she ain't the one. Lol hell no

The problem with Rockstargames' advertising campaign is that they already assume it is going to sell well.

Ofcourse they are right, but they look like arrogant *ssholes doing it. It is the reason a bunch of my friends are not going to buy the game...

Since this seems to be a theme in here tonight :p I'm gonna say I understand what you're saying :) and their feeling there, but on the flip side I respectfully disagree. Of course they care about sales they need that to even make games firstly, but most what I'm thinking of is does anybody ever think of it rather than arrogance or laziness or whatever you'll call it, that maybe they know their game is great yes but since it's a prequel especially, they wanna hold back more than usual and get everything all sorted out before launch so there's no big issues. Maybe they wanna keep a lot of surprises for us players who had been waiting so long? Of course it has even a bit to do with their track record they know we know "it's a R* game" that excuse works yeah but I think there's more to their thought process than people think. They have even said before many times that they want their info to be 100% concrete before it goes out and they're a work first talk second type of company. So in my perspective it's doing a rapid marketing campaign rather than a drawn out one. We will see the really juicy stuff with just a few weeks till launch rather than wait months or years after gameplay... That's just my perspective though. For that, I love their approach. Again I'm not trying to be rude I'm just shedding a different light here and am wondering if anyone thought of it this way.
