This has always been my interpretation as well. I think the subtitles are wrong.

 

Besides, it doesn’t make sense to say ”Sure, we can have fire, and we can have the knowledge of fire[...]”

 

”...the knowledge of thunder[...]” is more correct, as it corresponds to the discovery of electricity.

I'm pretty sure it's "fire" and not "thunder", both because that's what most people hear and because the subtitles says so.

Thunder doesn't make sense to me. What do you do with the knowledge of thunder? With the knowledge of fire humans cook food, make weapons, ect.

If you all keep playing games until October 26 the game won't feel like anything special and some of you will be disappointed, looking for news 24/7 is also wrong (if you want to truly enjoy the game).

As I said, knowledge of thunder = the discovery of electricity. I’ll keep thinking he says ”thunder”, but it’s totally fine to disagree with me on this.

I do get what you’re saying and I agree to a certain extent. I don’t want to be knee-deep in another game come Oct 26th. I also don’t want to hardcore-grind GTAO (haven’t for a good while).

 

I’m trying to keep a good balance between watching old westerns, watching an RDR playthrough bit by bit every now and then, and playing GTAO occasionally just to hone my controller scheme skills and stay alert.

The one thing that sucks about all this is that i can't replay RDR1 with the PS Now feature  It's not available in my country so i envy all of you guys that either live in a country that have access to that or still have their PS3. I at least played RDR1 to death when i had it so i still remember everything vividly even after all these years, a true masterpiece.

You are correct. It corresponds to the converging of the Old West to the Modern era (for the time) & while there is advancement there is ultimately imbalance. That's why I believe Dutch says "You have to love yourself a Fire" You have to remember & fight for that fire.

They wouldn't use fan subs. If you still think it's not "fire" go check in other language they're usually with hard subs. For example in russian it says "огонь" which is fire. In french it will be "le feu".

I like to keep balance...I understand your opinion but a 'game-break' is not necessary I think. But being in the middle of a story driven game while RDR release is not the ideal situation indeed
