Red Dead is the name of the franchise, not Red Dead Redemption!

Red Dead Redemption became popular so it makes sense they kept the name. And Redemption was never considered a sequel to Revolver, instead it was a "spiritual successor" (Some old interviews)

EDIT: Forgot to mention something, the theme of REDEMPTION could be a thing in every story of the series...

Yeah, sorry. I just mean that because it's a prequel and the story is related they're keeping in name with that part of the story. Not just due to a general theme of redemption. If they had done a story completely unrelated, I could have seen them calling it Red Dead something. Or maybe they really did just need the brand recognition. Who knows.

Yeah, but then again like @Jason said they could call the next one whatever they want. I mean people will surely know what to expect when they hear "Red Dead"

I don't understand, what's the difference between numerals and a actual number?

 

Revolver is for Red Dead, the same that 1 and 2 are for GTA: They have almost nothing in common with the rest of the series, the gameplay is different, only the theme is the same, but they still are a part of the same franchise.

It was just kinda weird for me that they changed the logo when Trailer #2 came out but like Emmi said it's probably because it looked better. You're right.

Off topic to what’s being discussed about atm with the logos..

 

 

I was watching the gameplay trailer again and the scene where Arthur helps free the fella out off the bear trap got me thinking.

 

Do you think bear traps/animal traps will be something we can purchase and use to hunt with? We know that hunting is going to be a bigger role in RDR2 so they could implement it as another option to hunt with. Obviously it wouldn’t be a ‘clean’ kill and you’d get less for the hid so would give you another ‘your way to play’. Imagine coming back to a bear trap a few days later to find a rotten bear being picked at by vultures.

 

Also I remember Jon Ryan from ign talking about how in the preview he saw the horse hurt its leg whilst they were out and they had to run back to town to get stuff to save it but it died when they got back...could it have stepped in a bear trap that caused the injury? Could these bear traps be cougars 2.0?

Look guys, I want to see more gameplay as much as anyone here, but some of you seem worried for no reason at all.

 

Rockstar Games will not delay a game less than 2 months before the announced release. It would look bad. Very, very bad. Rockstar Games built a reputation for almost 20 years to deliver outstanding games. I would also trust them to know what they're doing marketing wise.

 

That said, I want that gameplay trailer next week.

So I've been lurking this forum since pre GTA IV days and I had to create an account to mention something as most people seem to be losing their minds at the lack of information and the second gameplay video.

 

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but it's clear that there's an information EMBARGO on all media outlets regarding RDR2 until the drop of the OPM (or whatever major magazine) cover story. They most likely have an exclusive deal and Rockstar won't release anything to outshine the spotlight of the OPM cover story. 

 

So for everyone wondering and speculating when the gameplay video will drop and disappointing themselves because it doesn't, it seems that there is indeed an information EMBARGO so take that into consideration before getting upset when your expectations aren't met.

That does seem likely, it could be that OPM have played the game fairly recently and they have been sitting on the details for a while, I can imagine IGN has had a hands-on as well.
