Don't think so, there was always an announcement on the Newswire. Many times they delete the announcements and replace them with the trailers themselves so...

He's not wrong though, there's precedent. They haven't shadow dropped a trailer in a long, long time, if ever. They've always announced them atleast a day before they drop.

I'm not saying its impossible for them to drop a trailer out of the blue but it's unlikely since they've never done that before. Only time will tell I guess.

They've also never made a gameplay trailer and announced within that, "In the NEXT gameplay trailer...." either.

They've also never set aside a whole couple of days, unannounced, to introduce the main characters and their backstories, either.  

 

Precedent doesn't mean a thing.  2013 isn't 2018.  2011 isn't 2018.   RDR2 isn't RDR1, and RDR2 isn't GTA5.   I deal roulette at the casino every day, and every day the house take is predicated on idiots looking at the wheel's "history" to figure out what number is going to hit next.  That's how we get rich, because the idiots don't understand that past performance is no indicator of future results.
