As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans' 'don’t respect our fans’ 'hate GTA fans etc' – precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it

One thing is for sure though. We’ll be seeing Uncle drink and sleep at camp about 99% of the time until he’s actually useful making up the 1%.

So guys i asked Andy McNamara editior in chief of game informer in a qna he was doing on gamestop's twitter for charity basically my question was what actually happened about that rdr 2 cover he basically said that nothing actually happened but both were willing for a cover and rockstar cares a lot about their games but eventually it didn't worked out although he was hopefull for a future cover figured it was best to give you guys a update

I've seen some people make it sound like there was a cover but was cancelled which isn't the case at all. There was no cover from the beginning. GI probably asked them for one but Rockstar couldn't agree. Perhaps for timing reasons and some other things.

I agree in general.  I expect there will be a spike at the beginning, as all the long-suffering RDR faithful get their preorders and first week sales, but probably a slow increase over time, as word spreads about what an incredible game RDR2 is.

I think Rockstar wanted a cover for a month that was reserved by another game and they couldn't work it out.
