I mean, presale information based on preorders is it's going to exceed 20 million copies and that's being conservative. The only title that will potentially beat it is COD but RDR2 is expected to have longer legs.

It's gonna be complicated because of the sheer amount of threads made since then but try doing a search for posts between 2011 and 2013 in the GTA V section by using the search facility on the banner. Or use the Wayback Machine on the V section.

Let's not forget that we got two new wallpapers today ... they have been 'shadow-dropped' without any sort of announcement.

delay due to various reasons is always possible. But if its going to happen it will be in the range of 1 month and nothing severe

 

Rockstar & Strauss Zelnick confirmed that on CNBC Mad Money and all the activities happening right now lead to a launch at the 26th of October.

 

Just keep in mind preorders for the game are actually already very high and everybody is well aware that the title is launching. 

So what's the reason to overstress marketing. They can release everything at the end of September and it will be fine.

I can agree with the second part of your point. The amount of info we have on RDR Online is less then adequate at this point tbh.

I think RDR Online is on a separate league, I wouldn't be opposed to the single player launching without Online info, i.e. them releasing it a couple of months after or something. That's not going to happen but still, no RDO info is not an issue imo.

Well, I absolutely agree with you ... at this point I'm even inclined to believe that R* won't at all start showing the online portion of the game before November with it getting unlocked maybe by December 1st?

I mean they are really running out of time and would it be a good idea to release gameplay video 2 and the online gameplay video that close to each other? And then there'll be a launch trailer as well.

I feel like there's too many trailers/videos left for these last couple weeks till release.

Rockstar don't always announce when their games go gold, although they did it with GTA V in a small Newswire comment. RDR2 should be going gold relatively soon, I think it's 3 to 8 weeks before release usually.

The thing is GTA is a well-known franchise that can hold it's own and shouldn't require that much marketing. RDR on the other hand is a new IP and needs more attention and marketing, something R is not doing a good job of doing right now. I still think the game will sell a good amount but the first weeks will be very slow. I also find it bizarre how Strauss refused to give up the pre-order numbers, what is he hiding? Or maybe he was just being ambiguous for no god damn reason?
