I liked it.  Plus, you don’t see 1940’s Los Angeles portrayed in games, like ever.

That's gonna be harder to implement... The countdown timer will most likely depend in generic HTML code to countdown to a certain date. We don't really have the degree of customisation we had during the V era anymore, especially when the forum theme is still being bugfixed. We'll see though.

Anyone remember what time they announced that the gameplay trailer would be happening the following day? Not what time the gameplay trailer was, 11am ET. But what time they announced it.

Around 10am New York time if memory serves correctly.

Every major Red Dead announcement has came at 10:00 EST

Just finished the first Godfather game (trying to knock out a few old open-world games) before October. The Godfather Part II is next. Never played it but so far it’s kinda meh... Not an open-world but might give Red Dead Revolver another playthrough.

I agree, $60 and I get the game, the thing that really matters.  I'm going to wait till very near release, and order just the digital download, no other swag. 

 

The promise of the beautiful game itself is what gets my money.  Rockstar's broken hype machine does not work for me.  Good info in advance, like the trailers and the screenshots, make me happy during the long, long wait, but they don't get me to drop more money on swag.  And the long droughts are the very definition of anti-hype.  All they do is make me mad at Rockstar marketing.

 

Instead of spending that much money on the game itself, I'm spending my money on a 65" 4k HDR TV and a PS4 Pro. I think I'll be happy with my standard edition of the game.

Whoa, thanks mods/admins for pinning my thread in the news forum!  I figured that since it's no longer buried, I should try to tidy it up a bit lol. 

 

 

I'm thinking maybe after release, it can serve as sort of a database for people to learn about some of the real-life and historical influences for transportation in-game, instead of being a useless speculation thread with no purpose. Do you guys think it would be of interest to anyone?

 

Edit: It's not solely a "train" forum btw. They just happen to be the area I have the most knowledge in, so naturally most of my posts there are train-related. I'm hoping we see some more boats in the next gameplay video, so that maybe we can get some analysis from folks that know more about watercraft.

Absolutely! Threads like those were great during the pre-release of GTA V not only to document what kinds of weapons (or vehicles, etc) there were in the game for trailers but also for general discussion and stuff like that. That's the kind of stuff we want here. A public thank you for your contributions as well, btw.

I have a 75" QLED 4K UHD w/ HDR tv, but I won't get my Xbox One X until next week, so I've been playing RDR on by regular Xbone. THEN IT DAWNED ON ME! I can WATCH RDR in 4K on Youtube to see how good it will look when I get my XboneX. Anyone else with a 4K set, go here:

Just installed Spider-Man ✔

Pre-Ordered Red Dead Redemption 2... (The one game I dreamed would happen, a follow up to my favorite game of ALL TIME my number 1!!!)

Save the best for last, 2 down, one more to go!!! Next month the 2018 game  ✔ list will be complete

I've beaten RDR probably about a dozen times, and I've 100%ed it twice, but in my newest playthrough I just keep going down to the saloon in Armadillo and playing poker. Does this make me a gambling addict?

 

Also, think we can get to 3500 by launch?

I learned my lesson long ago about R* games. They never get lost in dust. Before GTA V came out I said I will never touch IV again and I did. Same happened with RDR, BULLY and all the way to GTA III. R* games never die. You'll always find yourself playing them again after a while.

I was completely joking. It's vague enough to be true, but it isn't. But given odds if nothing comes this week then the following weeks the chances of something showing up becomes greater.

seriously, I personally need to FEEL the gunplay and movement...as in PLAY the damn thing, so everything else is just info and mechanics I wanna explore myself and not know about beforehand.

don't spoil yourselves too much guys!

I wanna see more of the “euphoria“ engine in action, there wasn’t enough in the previous trailer to convince me it’s really back and better than ever. On the other hand, if it’s really back and better than ever, I would love to actually experience this the first time I’m playing it so I’m conflicted. Also, I want to see how gory the gunfights can get.

Yea that's exactly it. It's  likely it will go down that way anyways. It's all good:p I figured you were, that's why I said in a joking tone about the banhammer from spider man (since it's coming out this week) and the reference to the gameplay trailer. Was a perfect moment to say WELL if you're wrong then "they'll probably hang you, buddy"... Hehehe
