I see it's clearly time to bring back an old forum thing for this week... It may or may not be gameplay part 2. Regardless we have hands on previews next week which is actually exactly why I think the gameplay will drop on Thursday. If it doesn't happen though, don't be disappointed. Don't expect anything. Be confident in it happening but accept that if it doesn't it will be very soon. It's the homestretch at this point. #belikedamien is the old forum thing I'm talking about. During the worst times of the drought I had to give my example of how I am, while this place was tearing itself apart I kept the peace and positive vibes going. lol it was something like "This is damien, Damien loves red dead, he wants news to drop but never is disappointed because he doesn't expect anything that was never promised. He knows news will come regardless of when it does". #belikedamien #nextmonthhurryTFup

Idk where I stand with it, I may avoid most of the info from previews, im very excited tho and to see the game  get it's M rating is what I been waiting for. That's when it's  really official.. I just wanna see maybe one magazine or the summary R* may do on newswire or whatever. I really think R* is keeping close to the chest even the art this time not only cause artbook will be filled with them\maybe in game menu screens too and wanna surprise us w art? I really think cause the game is a prequel, they are holding back as much as they can since they have lots of surprises in store. I also believe a lot of people have underestimated just how much work a game like this could take. 8 years development time and they are just now finishing it up... Whenever people thought "oh ffs we should have this and this by now" I thought, how would you know? This is their first next generation game, ever. Their longest dev period for one game, ever.. it's insane to know it is being finished right now after all that time. They put so much into it to the point I wanna have as much surprise as possible and idc how long they take for news. They deserve to do this the way they want to. That's just my opinion, though

Count me in the group who’s gut says next week.  I’d love to be proved wrong though.

 

After the first gameplay, I kind of breathed a deep sigh of relief.  I’m still at max hype level, but the waiting is more manageable knowing the gaps between info will be very short.

Two more hours! There’s a lot of people in this too. Edward James Olmos also stars in it. He was Lieutenant Marty Castillo in Miami Vice back in the 80’s.

A good chunk of excitement about a new trailer for me  is hearing more of the soundtrack.

Outside the IGN Offices, San Francisco California.

 

Sam and Dan Houser are sitting in a car smoking weed 50 cent was blasting from the speakers. They were going to pay Peer Schneider a visit to see if he held up his side of the deal. Red Dead Redemption 2 was coming out in 7 weeks and they had to make sure that everything that could impact it was handled. Sam and Dan looked at each other nodded and then ran into the building. They found Peer's office and lock the door.

 

"Peer peer peer...You've been busy I see."

 

"What the hell do you want?"

 

"Oh you know what. There's this guy called Peter that has a big day on friday. You have the power to make friday a bad day for Peter or..."

 

Dan Houser now holding a wooden baseball bat looks at Peer Schneider

 

"We'll make it a bad day for you."

 

Peer just sits in his chair unafraid of their threats.

 

"I will not be bullied by you two punks."

 

"Wrong decision Peer."

 

Dan Houser starts smashing stuff in Peer's office with his baseball bat. Breaking posters, memorabilia and old consoles that were probably worth thousands of dollars. Peer just sits there with his mouth wide open.

 

"STOP! Just tell me what you want."

 

"When you release the review for Spiderman knock a few points away from it and don't you dare give it a perfect score. The same with any other game that releases before Red Dead Redemption 2. Are we clear?"

 

"Yes."

 

"Good I'm glad we were able to come to an understanding Peer. Oh and don't worry about the damage Strauss will pay for everything."

 

Daniel's Restaurant, New York, A couple days later.

 

Sam and Dan were sitting down having dinner with their Janitor. He was a very important part of the company and they always told him all of their secrets because he was someone they could trust.

 

"So the plan is we just remain quiet until release. No more trailers, no more gameplay, absolutely nothing."

 

"What about part two of the gameplay video? Aren't we going to release that."

 

"We already did but only to gamestop employees and in the coming weeks we will show more at preview events. But they won't be shown to the public."

 

"What about Strauss. He's been shaking trees and trying to get more gameplay out as soon as possible. He's already forcing your hand by starting these preview events it's only a matter of time before he makes that footage public."

 

"I'll handle Strauss don't worry about him. We've already started my least favorite part whenever we release a game. Hiring the marketing department. I got a couple of names in mind and will run them through him. They will be mainly responsible for making the Red Dead Online trailer and naming whatever the hell we're going to call Red Dead Online's version of sharkcards. Anyway man how's your nephew? I hear he's a good kid."

 

"Yeah. He finally got into UCLA. Good kid always stayed away from trouble. He knows I work for you. But I never tell him anything. I can't he always goes online and brags about me and my job even starting fake rumors about me. But everyone always brushes them off thank god."

 

They finish dinner and agree to meet again for Brunch on Sunday. The Janitor watches Sam and Dan hail a cab and leave. He then goes to an alley takes out his phone and calls his nephew.

 

"Hey Strauss. They're working on getting Red Dead Online info, and about to finally hire some people to run the marketing department."

 

"Good. You'll be paid well for this and if anything happens you're protected."

 

"Thanks nephew."

We all do. It just meant half way like we were at 100 days ago once the countdown thread started... Now we are halfway there.speaking of which I forgot how torturous the last few days wait for a game is. This week for spider man is taking it's sweet ass time... Cause even when you're not thinking about it you just subconsciously know its coming and anticipate it. The last few days of waiting for RDR2 is gonna feel like an eternity....

I guess some of you will spend over 300 on RDR2 (cuz of merch and collectors box).

Seems kinda blown out of proportion if you look at other people spending 60$ and having as much fun as everyone else with this game.

The hype is strong.  Well, whatever makes people happy, that's what counts for them.  

 

I agree, $60 and I get the game, the thing that really matters.  I'm going to wait till very near release, and order just the digital download, no other swag. 

 

The promise of the beautiful game itself is what gets my money.  Rockstar's broken hype machine does not work for me.  Good info in advance, like the trailers and the screenshots, make me happy during the long, long wait, but they don't get me to drop more money on swag.  And the long droughts are the very definition of anti-hype.  All they do is make me mad at Rockstar marketing.
